MVM SUN day November 21st.

Hi Gang,

Whew, the temps are alot cooler up here this morning. I just saw a huge flock of Canada geese flying south. They are probably going where we have just come from. I could hear them long before I saw them through the misty-foggy sky. Sheesh! What a welcome home......thinks I am doing the wrong thing already!

I was up with Ollie around 7:30a.m. he doesnt want to go out in the cold and rain.

Strict LC for me from now on. I had two scrambled eggs in butter this morning and two cups of tea with cream, so far.

Linda,
That sorting and dumping sounds like a great plan to me. I love it when it is all done! Just have to be, "a self-starter" eh? LOL!

Jacki,
Glad to see you are back and up to your creative tricks agin! How did the caulking go?

Wavin to the rest of the gang, hope to be back later.

SuSUN!

SuSun you won by 1 minute. I was trying to decide where to post, yours or Zips. Then I checked the times. Glad that you are home safe. Have you seen Ella yet? She probably will look like she has grown a bunch. Poor Ollie getting out in that cold.
I can sympathize with him.

Zip I agree with you about trying to get Vickie to "get it" on her internet. She has to learn how to fend for herself and just get in there and do it. What plans do you two have for Thanksgiving, having friends? You are fixing the duck, right?

I have been busy with cleaning house and getting organized for the turkey days. DH's son will arrive Tuesday afternoon. He will leave on Saturday. Not sure about our other guests. Wish I would get a call from the out of towner.

Jacke good to hear that you enjoyed that concert with Jaysen.
I had to laugh when he said he wanted the "origianals". Are you doing the Thanksgiving Day cooking?

Linda when you want to come this way and do some heavy duty cleaning let me know. I have an extra bedroom and lots of low carb food. One of my big problem lately is that dead bugs are lining up along my floor edges lately. Well at least they are goners.

Got today scheduled for a "chopping up stuff day." Celery, nuts, onions. Better get at it.

Have a great Sunday all of you.

Loretta

Hi Y'all

SuSUN, home...even tho you'd rather still be much further South.
Wondering: will baby Ella be the Third generation of total look-alikes when mature, as you and your DD are?
Yeah, stay with those LC Basics, and drop that vacation "extra" BAGGAGE.

LORETTA, wow! You are sure starting early...doing a little each day? Clever. Yes... off to DSon's for the Feast.

ZIP....your Vicki tale of woe makes me reflect back on my bad behavior re learning some puter basics...wonder if my DGBrat was ready to shoot her ol' Nana ....I was so impatient (grouchy)...and dumb.

Maybe type up (or copy-print out) a couple sheets of puter Basics, and SNAIL MAIL them to her, since she doesn't do E mail to receive them.

GINNY Hoping there's some good peace and contentment (including feet-up, pup-cuddling) during your weekend.

Hey to Montana, Jacki, Barb.

probably will be back later.

Shawnee

CINNAMON: it does a body good! Have y'all been checking out any of the Main Board's threads on it? Interesting....that stuff does contain some good qualities.

Heck,
I have a nice fresh copy of WINDOWS ME...comic book version, I think THAT will be my contribution to Vicki.

Bob and I will chow down on last year's turkey breast before it becomes "of archeological value:"...aha Carbon Dating the breast showed it was Cro-Magnon turkey- not nearly as smart as today's evolved turkey!
(Now to chip it out with a pickaxe!)

edit: Looked into freezer and found a lovely SMALL (1.7#) boneless pork loin...took it out for Thanksgiving. So what if the turkey says OINK!

Welcome back Susan, sorry that vacation is over but I bet you are so glad to see that baby.
LOL most of the Canada Geese just stay around here anymore. They have become quite a problem at the local parks and the university soccer fields. Yuck, they leave a lot of "waste".

Loretta, sure wish your out of towner would call so you would at least know the arrival date. Sheesh!

Sure I'll be more than happy to come clean your place. It's always a lot more fun and so much easier to do it for someone else.

Where do these darn dead bugs come from? I've been finding house flies and haven't a clue as to how they get in.

Shawnee, glad you get to go away for turkey day dinner. It saves so much work. Will you bring some leftover turkey home for the Chuckster?
I'm not sure what we will do that day but we will go to G's sister's house the night before.

Roger, I like Carol's idea about sending Vicki instructions by snail mail. Sometimes it's easier to see them in black and white. Give it a try. At least she will have something to refer back to while muddling through.

Pork is good and lots easier than cooking a turkey.

So who is Bob's "girlfriend"?

Ginny, aww sorry your team isn't' doing well.
LOL Had to hide the pecans for the low carb brownies from "you know who" .

If you all are interested, there is a special on PBS tonight at 8 EST re: the Grizzlies of Yellowstone. Think I'll get involved in that.

Later

Susun,

I heard one of those Canada Geese saying, as he passed over NJ: "Hey guys, did you see that crazy lady going the wrong way"

Linda,
Is the free Grisoft AIG antivirus easy to set up? Does it include a firewall? (I'm thinking minimum for Vicki.) I wasn't joking...she's really getting a nice Windows ME book from me...at the theater! If she wants lessons she can hire a tutor (different if she were next door but she's 2 trains away!)

Sorry to bore you all with this saga...no more tomorrow!

Foggy SCHMUTZ continues today.

AWWW, POOR Phonecia is setting buds all over the place on 4 stems 2 feet high...shame if they blast, but all the Xmas cactuses are doing nicely...one has about 40 red buds and it started life as only one segment that I found on the floor...

G'Nite...anybody who can wave a wand and make something decent appear on TV tonight will earn my dying gratitude!

Roger, no AVG doesn't include a firewall but you can have her download Zone alarm which is free.

AVG isn't too bad to set up either. Pretty straight forward.

Aww you missed the Yellowstone Grizzlies on PBS. Very interesting.

Good for you Ginny, glad your "boys" won.

Here are a few tips for those traveling this week.

Getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving also is a good time to winterize your vehicle. Here are some things you should check:
* Lights. Make sure headlights and taillights are working properly.

* Wiper blades.

* Windshield wiper fluid. Make sure you have a fluid that won't freeze.

* Tire pressure. Have your tires rotated and check the treadwear.

* Antifreeze. Make sure the coolant is at least 50 percent antifreeze.

* Supplies. Carry a snow brush, ice scraper, flashlight, blanket, jumper cables, a fold-up shovel, kitty litter (for traction) and a pair of gloves.
