MVM Thursday, Nov. 18

Gosh it's only one week until Thanksgiving. So what's on everyone's agenda for Turkey Day?

We are going to Gerard's sister's home on Wed. evening for dinner and just hanging around the ol ranch on Thursday.
I might even start putting up a few decorations that day. I don't do much anymore but love looking at the lights on a tree.

Not much else to say at the moment except I need more coffee More later.

Hi Y'all

Yeah, Montana...T-day kinda sneaked up on me! Going up to DSon's house.......he does all the major foods, I take desserts. He said there will be a dozen for dinner, more coming in later on. GBrat Kaci and her DH will go too. THEN Kaci will have her faux T-day on Sat. for us locals here; duck is on the menu.

I'm kinda looking forward to the Christmas lights also.

Hope all the MIAs are ok

Good morning Linda, Shawnee and the followers.

Slept til 9 this morning...a rarity (thank you 10 mg Valium.) Feeling more back to normal but getting leery about the old SADD; it may be sneaking up on me. The sauna helped yesterday so I'm thinking that maybe infared (it's 180° F in there!) radiation might be of some never-thought- out benefit, much like visible light. If not, I'll fill the bathroom with my LIGHTORAMA of 2000 watts of brilliance! Only trouble with the light box is that it is deadly BORINNNGGG (If I read I'll go blind!)

We did Thanksgiving dinner on Monday with a couple friends who are going away. But I DO have a turkey breast in the freezer and I could pull it out for the two of us??? If I fridge it on Sunday, it should be ready by Thurs. (I think.) I hate to defrost at room temp...especially if frozen for a long time A BLEEDIN' YEAR!) at sub-zero.

I am getting some woogley computer behavior and I pray I don't need a Thanksgiving reformat.

Somebody do me a favor and check this out: TOOLS (on the top bar)>Internet Options> Clear History button. Now go to your History icon (the sundial) and click to see if today's list of visited sites has disappeared or if it's still there. Thanx.
I can't get rid of mine and I'm thinking something is SPYING on me. Using Ad-Aware I occasionally get it to disappear but then it pops back up again...it would seem the perfect way for Spyware to operate.
One or two reboots a day are becoming necessary so that's a sign of evil-doing. Later, I'll try a System Restore (but that's rarely a life-saver for me!)

Hi Shawnee, yes it sneaked up on me too.

It's nice not to have to cook the entire dinner, eh? We take turns cooking the turkey and everyone else will bring a side dish. This year Ginger is doing the turkey so I'm trying to think of some dessert to make.
For chocolate lovers, Sherrie's brownies are fantastic! Guess I'll do them and Loretta's cheese cake.

What are you going to make?

Tell me how you prepare duck? The closest I came was preparing some Canada Geese that my dad shot on Tangier Island in the Chesapeake bay years ago. YUCK! they tasted just like fish

Roger, if the sauna light does the trick, you will be all set. It will help your electric bill too

The turkey breast should thaw out but if not, you could always plunk it a sink full of cold water for a few hours.

I did what you said with the history but the sundial thingy isn't click able. I hit the arrow on the search bar and it showed everything was cleared.

Have you tried Tracks eraser? It's free for a couple of weeks and clears things the usual computer maintenance doesn't get. Don the computer guy installed it for a 15 day trial and I love it so I bought the $30. pro version.

Give it a try. Clear cookies, files and everything and then run that. You will be surprised at what good ol Microsoft misses.

Hi again...stalling here, dinking with puter instead of getting on with Suzy stuff

Zip, I cleared my History, and it took out Today's too. I frequently use System Restore....but didn't notice if it restores the History too.

Montana, ..DUCK = YUK to me.
However, her DH, FIL, and Bob are all for it, and she wants to do a non-traditional meal. She said its gonna be marinated overnight in orange juice concentrate, and stuffed with orange slices and herbs, liquour...will still be ducky-fishy....but bless her heart (she hates duck too) she's willing to do it for them...thankfully there will also be spiral sliced ham.

I will probably be making a Beachgirl cheeecake...and maybe something almond cake-y....and ?
guess its time to give it some real thought.

Thanks guys,

That's pretty much the way mine always worked til last week but now the History just doesn't go away.
Linda, I tried a utility download yesterday (forget which). It wouldn't remove it either.

Others report the problem on a google search and all the answers just don't work for me...I'll live with it and if things get worse, have a December Reformat.

Thanx again, Carole, Linda.

Hi Roger, Linda and Shawnee

Busy day today with a funeral and helping with the meal afterwards. Then taking Dh to doc for his last visit for the skin graft. It has healed nicely and we are finished there. No more dr visits until 2005 for us.

I am cooking 2 thanksgiving dinners. One on T- day and one on Saturday. His kids, my kids. My DS has to work on thanksgiving day. I will make 2 of the same dishes and serve smaller amts, instead of 9x13 just 7x11 or 8x8 pans. I have the menu planned and it makes it easy since it is a different crowd each time. Actually I am looking forward to it.
Turkey one time and a Capon on Sat. I wonder if I can fool those kids and tell them that the capon is a small turkey? I might even make my cheesecake.

Have started on Altace 10mg since Monday and it seems to be working. BP is getting better.

Back later, I hope.

Loretta

Afternoon......

Days slip by and don't even realize that I didn't post!!

Thanksgiving -- Nothing this year!! Looking forward to it -- just the two of us. Everyyear we went some place and traveled. Probably go to the mall on Friday just to see hordes of people. Spend the rest of the weekend putting up tree (which we go out on property and cut down) and lights, etc.

My neice just had her baby in MN -- my daughter is there going to grad school and will spend her time with them. They had a baby shower for the mom-to-be and the grandma-to-be and Jessie got some real nice baby gifts and Pat (my Sis) got some liquid refreshments to help her get through it all. My mom sent her a night light and a bottle of wine!! I think my mom gets her sense of humor from me.

I agree on Duck!! Did that -- had that experience -- it's very fatty.

I will make all low carb stuff -- turkey, cranberries, green beans, cheesecake, flaxmeal muffins, gravy, cauiflower smashed --- and that's already too much to eat!!

Waving to all....... Julie, are you still at sea???

ZIP..where'd ya get that quacker on such short notice?...ran out and bagged one?

Will be waiting for results report.

Barb, CONGRATS on new BABY in family. I've been the major chef of family holliday dinners for more years than I care to count...now I'm happy that most of the time, the younger generations are taking over...
Your Mom sounds great!
(I love people watching too)

Loretta
and because DH is doing so well, and you are looking forward to having your family gatherings. Sure does pay to plan ahead re menues, huh?
Glad your BP seems more regulated.

Jacki, if ya happen to pop in...love the look of the gingerbread panels under your windows.

Shawnee, bless Kaci's heart. Cooking that yucky duck for the guys but you two will enjoy that ham more. LOL that is my favorite too.

Roger, did you try the free trial version of Tracks eraser yet? That may do it.

LOL I can just see you out in a boat with your shot gun getting that duck

Barb, Congrats on the new baby in the family. LOL your mom must be a hoot! I love her style.
Boy are you brave getting out among the stampeding herds of shoppers on the Fri. after Thanksgiving.

Loretta, you must be so relieved to see that BP going down. That was awfully high. Yikes!
You actually enjoy all that cooking? Mother of Pearl!! I did when I was younger, but now I just want to be left alone on a holiday.

Jackie, how about a picture of those gingerbread panels? We are really curious now.

Waving to the MIA's
