SUNDAY on MAINTAIN MOUNTAIN

Good morning folks <as the coffee goes perk perk>.

I slipped up a pound to 209# thanks to 5 martinis and a wedge of Mrs. Smith's Apple Crumb Pie...but it WAS good (in the freezer for a year!) Well today is the last of the Marftinis and the pie will be gone tonight.

Barb,
I THINK my goal is 205# this time round. I looked a bit too scrawny and drawn at 197 a couple years ago, so I'm hoping that at 205, it'ss be the same amount of fat with 8 pounds more muscle from the gym.

Jacki,
That soup sounds delicious ...but what an AMBITIOUS amount of ingredients to assemble.

Well, we finally FROSTED overnight (32° right now.) I PRAY we have an easier winter than last...I'll never forget that endless deep freeze!

Off to coffee...Waves to everybody

LOST my whole post because I can't keep my fingers off the enter key.

I agree with Zip about the fat in the face. I think that many women also should keep some to puff up those wrinkles -- then you don't look so old.

Jackie, I'm glad you got that job. I would love to work from early morning until early afternoon. It fits my life style. My mom worked in a bakery for years from 4 am to noon. She did that until the ripe "young" age of 75. She worked 38 hours a week.

Morning to everyone else, even those at sea!

Barb

Good Morning Mountainers!

It is a tad cloudy today with SUNny periods! You know this suits my "wannabe" lifestyle. DH and I, were the only people up and out in the garden this morning, sipping our tea. It was heavenly looking at all the greenery!

I feel much better that I fessed-up on the over eating! I think I can get it under control today.

Shawnee,
Thanks for the encouragement on the "hour glass figure." Are you sure that was me? LOL! I will plan to me more active.

Roger,
I hear ya on the apple crumble pie! It will be better for you when it is all gone out of the house.
Right now I must be totally wrinkle-free with the fat on the face look; its the chins that get to me though. LOL!

Barb,
YUK on losing your post! Glad you had the patience to write some more for us.
That is wonderful that your Mom worked till she was 75 yrs young! A bakery sounds like hard work to me. As the saying goes, 'Hard work never killed anyone,' it just feels like it should. Does she have any arthritis from the repetative movements?

Jacki,
Glad to see you back with us! That soup recipe looks like a keeper and so tasty too I'll bet. That will be a good one up North to keep those freezing days out of the house. I''l have to copy and paste and send to myself. Thanks for the central heating.

Loretta,
Hope you get some answers soon on Lil' Leah's ear infections. ENT sounds the best route.

Linda,
How's the temps up your way? WE will be joining ya soon!

Ginny,
Hope you are sitting enjoying your weekend off.

Wavin to y'all!

I've got a NO-NO recommendation

HELLMAN'S Just 2 Good Reduced Fat Mayo (25 calories/Tbsp as opposed to 90 for the delicious Regular.)
This stuff tastes like GLUE...pasty and bland. Knowing they use xanthan and water to cover some of the fat is ok, but they cut the tartness to near nothing...a little more vinegar would have made it at least edible...but it's NOT, it actually made me gag.
Save your money- I'm returning mine to the store!

I lose my posts by hitting something in the vicinity of the ALT-CONTROL-WINDOWS KEY area with my pinky ????...and then poof. Sometimes I hit the back arrow on the IE window without hitting SUBMIT first. NOTHING is so infuriating.

Dr Phil on Inner Peace

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we all
could use more calm in our lives.

By following the simple advice I heard on a Dr. Phil show, I have finally
found inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed "The way to achieve inner peace is
to finish all the things you've started."

So I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't
finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle
of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's, a bottle of
Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of both Prozac and Valium
prescriptions, the rest of the cheesecake, some saltines and a box of
chocolates.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those
you feel are in need of inner peace.

Jackie now we're talking. Great way to achieve that inner peace ------ we won't give a d^&&^.
Thanks for the recipe for the soup. Sounds like a winner for me with that cabbage in it. Enjoy your new early hours job.

Zip thanks for letting us know about that mayo. I have tried the Hellman's light but do not like it either. Too sweet tasting for mayo for me. I have gone back to using the regular Hellmans mayo.

That seems to be my most frequent cause for lost posts.

Susun you and DH sure sound relaxed and seem to be enjoying that vacation.

Barb I'm still an early riser, 5:30 or so on some days, but I have lots of stuff I want to enjoy so I make time for my priorities first. Does your mom still get up early? How is she doing lately?

Did not take Leah home from the Drs reception. We stayed and there were some young kids eager to play with her. She sure fell asleep quickly in the car once we headed for home.

Later
Loretta

Hey gang,

Playing a little catch up here and just wanted to say hey!

Jacki, great on getting that job!!!

Susan, glad you're enjoying yourself in the SUNshine!

Barb, hate it when the posts go *poof*.......It WOULD kill me to work an early shift like that, I'm not a morning person, so don't let me near anything sharp LOL

Zip, yuck on the strange mayo. I still buy miracle whip for dh, just the old regular

Loretta, you can have all my early morning hours you want Doesn't a car ride just tap the little ones out all the time? That's the old stand-by I think!

Hi to our MIA's, hope all are well and content!

What a fantastic football game today (if you are a Green Bay fan)!! Of course, if you are for the Vikings !! I like these games that go down to the last few seconds and holding one's breath. I often wondered how a field goal kicker can be so calm!!

Loretta, my mom is still an early riser but since my dad passed away she doesn't sleep well. She took care of him until the end and still wakes up at night because she hears him. She has increased her activities at both Church and the hospital and is really busy with volunteer work.

Jackie, that was GREAT advice!! I need some inner peace and am going to work on what I have started right now!! I wonder if I could finish a bag of hot and spicy pork rinds.

Ginny, it's true of some people I work with -- NOT morning people, makes it difficult to have meeting at 8. I get very impatient with them and they get the same way with me by 4 in the afternoon when I'm a basket case.

Susan, my mom has no arthritis at all and is pretty heathly for 82 -- that good German Stock!! Confession is good for the soul, huh -- now you HAVE to get rid of those carbs!

Loretta, I tried the pancake this morning and it was excellent. It was bigger than I thought -- but then I didn't measure either.

to everyone else -- busy with life, having fun, reading a book, and going on cruises!!

Hi everyone,

Roger, UGH aren't there trans fats in the store bought pies?

Now the martinis are a different matter. Well, actually I LOVE a good Rob Roy.

It very well may be a bad winter again here in the NE. My son said the buck he got was full of fat around the organs. Guess it's a sign or something.

Barb, wow how did your mom do it? Bless her heart, she must have loved her job. How lucky for her. Sorry she is not sleeping well though.

Bummer on the lost post. It's happened to me too several times. I do what Roger does and hit something with my little finger.

Susan, LOL you best enjoy every minute of that warm, wonderful weather cause it's not going to be so nice when you get home. It's darn cold around here. What are you??? Maybe three hrs. NW from us?

Jackie, that soup recipe sounds wonderful so I may try it soon. Oh and a huge congratulations on getting the job.

Oh yeah!! I could enjoy that kind of "calm".

Loretta, I'm sure they put extra sugar in the lite mayo in an attempt to make up for lost flavor when they take the fat out.

Bet Leah had a ball with the other kids.
Oh by the way, your cheese cake was a big hit as usual. Thanks again for the recipe. This time I topped it with strawberries rather than the sour cream and almonds. YUMMM

Ginny, I'm with you on the early morning "get up". I can't even talk to anyone until Noon.
Miracle whip? <shudder> Give me regular Hellman's any day.

Where is Shawnee?

Hope Julie is having a great time.

I'm off to catch up and then finish reading the paper.

Hi Y'all

WHEW! Bob returned, so lots of unloading his stuff, three loads of washing, etc.

OK, so here's what they REALLY do besides a little hunting: DS takes his golf clubs, remote FART machine...remote $$spendy racing car...Then there's the marathon Cribbage and Texas Hold-um games...Relatives and friends gather, bonfires to tell lies around...enough BS to fertilize the Nation's soy crops...you get the idea.

Interesting reading all your posts, sorry I'm too tired to do more than say HEY to y'all, and throw in a promise to do better next time.
