What's the best brand of prenatal vitamins?

I am getting ready to start infertility treatments and currently take Atkins vitamins. I'd like to switch to some prental ones and know nothing about what brand is high quality. Can anyone help?

I would suggest checking with your doctor and getting a prescription... my midwife prescribed Prenate Elite for me and so far they are much gentler on my stomach than over the counter, even though they have more iron in them.

Definitely talk to your doctor. I'm currently taking Cal-Nate and like them alot, but they contain a stool softener so you probably don't need that part of it until you conceive.

Do switch from the Atkins ones though, I took them my first few weeks of pregnancy and my doctor made me stop immediately as they were too high in Vitamin A for pregnancy.

Good luck!

For my last two pregnancies my midwife gave me all of the prenatal vitamins I needed, including enough to cover me while nursing.

Thanks everybody. I will definitely check with the doctor now. I didn't even know that there were prescription vitamins. I was going to just go to the health store and buy some. I'm glad I asked!
