MOUNT MAINTAIN on THURSDAY

Hi gang,

Things going back to normal...I slept 11 hours for a catch-up.
Tonight we're doing the JULLIARD BALLET (for free) and having a nice Japanese meal at DAN...I'll have the mixed seafood tempura.
Vicki will join us for the ballet but wouldn't go near a tempura with a ten foot pole (she hasn't touched anything deep fried in 30 years! )

Barb,
No, martinis will make me fat but if accompanied with angst and major anxiety the pounds will melt off me.
Down to 208# today (can't eat while sleeping, eh!)
My fattening danger is MAJOR CONTENTMENT...bummer, isn't it!

Have a nice day everybody.

ps...friend got $800 more for the car than we were paying so he's not unhappy.

Thanks Zip for a picture of that neat car.
You sure missed out on that one. But enjoy your SIMPLE LIVING without that stress of car ownership and driving.

Barb I don't want a boat. I can think of a thousand things better than a boat. Painted wall instead of that paneling for starters. Better yet if DH would say let's paint the walls.
Hey do you have a cell phone? We have not crossed that barrier yet.

Shawnee glad you enjoyed that visit and shopping. Did you buy anything new for the kitchen or yourself? I use my muffin top pans (that I had to have 2 of) now for my salmon patties and bake them in the oven. Works out great. Still using my grill for my pancakes, thanks. How about a rotisseirie (Sp) got one of them? I am all in favor of DH getting a new boat. I think he should enjoy that much.

Doctoring today with Dh and internist. See about some lab results and maybe get him a pneumonia shot.

Hey to Ginny and the rest of our lurkers and future posters for today. Have a great Thursday.

Loretta

Hi Y'all

Quiet day here for the ol' Chuckster and I. Bright and coldish here.

Eleven hours of Zzzzzzzzzzz's, Zip? Sorry the car situation didn't fit the bill....ownership has its pros and con$.

The Chuckster wasn't agreeable to showing off his newly-acquired gray fanny color, but this pic shows some of gray anyway.

Oh, Loretta...hoping things go well at the Dr.
Maybe time for a compromise/trade-off?
You'd love to see DH happy and content in that new boat, while you could be happy and content with spirit-lifting, depression-chasing newly-painted walls. Hope ya both can get what ya want.

Didn't get all that much while shopping...did a lot of poking about in some great lil shops that have popped up in wonderful, newly renovated brick hotels, banks...

In a SuperWally, found some (large) DaVincis for $4.12 ea., some throw pillows, odds and ends. BurkPup inherited the old pillows, he has a fetish for them...stack em up and pile himself on.

To everyone following, hope your day is good and has a blessing or three in it.

Shawnee

Thanks for that pic of the car Zip. I thought that is what I was going to get this morning when I clicked on your web site. I sure was

Dr visit when fine and Dh happened to notice a sign on the office door saying rx samples will only be given out at a dr visit. Dh just had to ask for some Cialis samples. He not only got them plus a prescription. He DOES NOT need them. Rather this than laxatives!!!!!!! Can you believe this????? DH's cholesterol was 196 and he wanted to put him on statin drugs. Doc said the reason being because of the stent. Oh, and Zip that leukemia is the lymphycytic.

Shawnee that Chuckster is one beautiful cat but those eyes seem to say "don't mess with me."

Roger, it must have broken your heart to say no to that lovely car but the problems and expenses associated with it in your area are just not worth it.

Congratulations on that 208 AND the 11 hrs of great sleep.

Loretta,

why did your DH ask for the meds if he doesn't need them? Men are quite something, eh?

Hope you get your painted walls and him, his new boat. Keep working on him AKA NAG. We can usually wear them down.

Oh Shawnee, the Chuckster is just beautiful. I could just hug him to pieces.
I just love renovated buildings with cute little shops. Unfortunately we don't have many in this depressed area.

Waving to the rest of the gang.
Back later.

Going to funerals can certaintly change one's mood. I went to a very simple outdoor service at the cementary today for a 23 year old former student who died in a car crash last week. The car went off the road and into the river and she drowned. Her companion was hit on the head, walked 9 miles into town and doesn't remember anything that happened. They were in the same graduating class.

What is so somber is the fact that the mother has had nothing in life -- husband left after years of drinking, she raised four children the best she could. She has no money. The service was very simple, a plain pine casket with a boom box for music and a friend to say a few words. There was a large crowd, lots of kids, and friends and relatives. A potluck was put on for the family at the town hall afterwards. A benefit dance on Saturday night for the family is to help the pay the expenses of the funeral. All of the muscians will be fellow classmates (anyone with a guitar).

Not in the mood for much else tonight.

Waving good night to all.........

Barb
