Not sure if there's any research on this...I'm sure there might be if you do some googling.

HOWEVER....I was trying to conceive for 2 years before doing Atkins with no success. Three months on atkins and *poof* pregnant! So for me, I'd have to say no, it's not true.

I got pregnant while doing induction levels of Atkins. However, I did have to go on Provera to jump start my period since it stopped about 2 months after starting Atkins, and then Clomid to make me ovulate. There is no proof of the two being connected, though.. many things could have stopped my cycle.

I've always heard the opposite, that being LC makes it easier to conceive... and I think there are PLENTY of LC babies to prove it!
At the VERY least losing excess weight helps regulate cycles which makes it easier to conceive.

I have been infertile for 9 years and am now pregnant and due in 8 weeks after low carbing for 8-10 months. My cycle was really irregular before low carbing and became regular almost right away after I started eating LC.

I was in ketosis both time I conceived. In both cases we were pregnant within 6 weeks of trying.

Prior to lowcarbing my cycles were very irregular so I'm totally convinced it well help more than it hurts.
