Sunday on Maintain Mountain
Everyone must be busy with life!!
Not planning much today, need to do a little paperwork and then football. Julie, how's Nick doing in school? This is an Alternative School? They have really helped save some kiddos who wouldn't make it in the regular school setting. Check in later, have a good day all......... Barb ![]() |

Hi y'all
Yeah, Barb...Life does sometimes interfere with BB posting Hopefully, its good things that are keeping us occupied and preventing daily check ins. Dang, its cold here....but at least sorta sunny most days. Been having Three Dog nights, and all I have is that hateful eleven-lb. ball of aging fluff, aka the Chuckster-cat. Montana, Gal, you have NO winter insulation! Avoid strong winds, keep an anchor tied to your a$$. Good luck and blessings to G re that rash!Julie, are ya reading any good books to help with the boredom factor as ya go thru the recovery process? Sending healing thoughts to ALL who need 'em. ![]() Hey to Ginny, Loretta, Jacki, Zip,SuSUN.... Have a content Sunday. Shawnee |

Morning Barg,
I'm here, just not too newsy as I've been laying around resting for days now. I do feel better, just coughing like mad. Broke down last night and used my inhaler and finally took some sf cough syrup with codeine. That worked good!!! Yep, I'll be watching the Seahawks...just not too enthused about them. Nick is going to an alternative school through our local high school. Small classes, 15 at the most. he takes 2 classes a day, 4 days a week. He loves it. He's not as distracted and it's his decision to be there. Also 20 miles away from where he went before. and got in trouble!! He'll be 19 in less than a month and think he is finally growning up a little. We are so proud of him. Thanks for asking. Shawnee, sure have been reading but can only do that so long. RLS kicks in big time. I think I'm getting better...when the whinning begins and the boredom kicks in. Pretty mild around here. 50! Just not much change between day and nightime temps. Hi to the rest of you and have a good day.

Hi to all
Geeeee Linda only 92 pounds. Go ahead and make that peanut butter fudge and eat the whole thing. Glad to hear that Gerard is getting some relief. I went mushroom picking yesterday. They are the same ones I picked a few years ago. Dh enjoys them but I would rather not bother with them. Julie is sure is taking you a while to get over that cough, cold etc. Hopefully that will be it for you for this winter. Wash those hands. Glad that Nick is liking the school. Sounds like he will be able to level out and then go on with life. Thanks Gram. Shawnee have you had a frost there yet? We had a mild one last week and it did get some of the more delicate flowers. I want to show you a pic of my tulip pots. I made a fall arrangement in them and put them on the rocking chair. I felt compelled to put some netting over them to keep the critters out. In the spring I will remove the weeds after the tulips pot up. That is the plan at least. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../Tulippots.jpg Barb enjoy your Sunday. Sounds like you have a great plan. Are you getting on that treadmill lately???? Hi to the rest of the vintage mountain climbers. Later Last edited by Loretta V : 11-07-2004 at 11:26 AM. |

Loretta, it is only day 6 of this virus. I just whine too much and it seems longer to you!
I am worried though...2nd cold in less than a month. I do wash my hands a lot but with allergies, I think I touch my eye's and nose and don't even realize it. I also think I was overdoing on the working. Any clue to why I got sick so fast again will be appreciated. I take 500 mg. of Vit C a day, multi, Vit E, fish oil, calcium w D, magnesium at night..hmm did I forget anything? I sure wish I knew for sure why I got sick 2x in less than one month. |

Julie I think that possibly the bug did not completely leave you the first time. John and I had that happen last winter. We were sick a lot and in succession.
Rest up!! Sounds like you are doing the right things otherwise. |

Hi again
LORETTA you clever, clever Gal! Sensational idea, looks super too C'mon, Spring!Yup, we started having freezing nights last week, then Fifites for daytime highs. Hated to see the "delicates" bite the dust. The Hostas are just sad slime now...but hope springs eternal, they will be baaaaaaccccck!... Julie, I so agree with Loretta...while your defences are low from the first round, the bug bites again! Seems like when I get sick with one thing, other body problems surface too. I'm doing a lil Suzy...slowly and leisurely...cause Bob is doing his annual male bonding with DS and the flora/fauna, and I'm lovin' the peace and quiet. NO projects for me this year; just cleaning, socializing...and being a bum. Tomorrow is GBrat Kaci's B-day...will do lunch and shopping. .....back to the Suzy stuff. Shawnee |

Hey gang,
Life has gotten in the way of computer time lately We went and got Mom for 3 weeks yesterday, met my DB half way for the exchange. Of course, this means my 'puter time will be a bit minimized, so don't worry if you don't see me as regularly for a few weeks. Shawnee, wanna do some Suzy stuff here while the boys are playing? Payment in good coffee and puppy snuggles!!! Linda, glad G is getting better! Sure hope the next Dr. can figure it out....poor guy! Ok, so you're a 92 lb little bitty thang now....better tie off that anchor like Shawnee says or you WILL get blown away! Loretta, ohhhhh, the mushrooms sound good! How's DH's hand doing now? Are the bandages getting smaller yet? Julie, sure do hope you feel better SOON! Glad Nick is enjoying school, he sure needs that diploma! Is he doing any better about moping missing is DGF? Well, all, better get a move on here......hugs all the way around and hey to our MIA's!

Hi everyone,
It was a beautiful, mild day around here but the wind just picked up. Guess a cold front is moving in. UGH! Roger, if you are lurking. We miss you. ![]() Barb, I hope you enjoyed the foot ball game. I just can't get into them. Shawnee, oh don't call the Chuckster hateful. He really isn't, is he?Yeah, it is difficult at times to post and read here when life gets in the way. LOL my deck pot flowers have been dead since the last of Sept. We have had several hard freezes. Glad you got some alone time. It's always so nice to do that. Julie, Glad that inhaler and med worked . You have to get better for your cruise. Flying and a head cold DO NOT go together. OUCH! Loretta, what kind of mushrooms are they? I just love the darn things but am too afraid to pick them. Years ago, my ex and I used to pick something called papinkies, or something like that. I'm afraid I'd poison us now though. Ginny, not to worry. I'm back to 94 today and am sure I'll get back to 97 ish soon. That's where I feel the best. How nice that you will enjoy your mom's company for three weeks. We will understand if you aren't here much. YO Jackie, where are you? Susan, check in when you can. Waving to all the lurkers and MIA's. |

One more time, to make up for the days I don't post
Ginny, that's an offer that's hard to turn down...coffee and pupsnuggles, two of my fav things...just for doing some cleaning, its a bargain swap! Blessings to you and your Mom during her visit...does she enjoy the company of the pups? Montana, the Chuckster IS hateful, and proud of it....anything pi$$es him off, he turns his back, lowers his ears, switches his tail in jerks...and plans revenge. (ambush attacks, nip on my ankle "Gotcha!" Most cats are independant, and that's cool...but lately he has been playing the "I wannna go out...NOW" at 4 AM...!! ...which means I gotta stay up to let him back in...meanwhile, he might decide to do a little prowling outside. Normally I'd shut the door and let his butt rot outside, but he's 14 and its freezing out there, so... Julie, you WILL be WELL, will be well, will be well...(mantra).... I take a Sudafed before flying. Loretta, we used to pick Chantrelles in the Fall, and Morels in the Spring...now I'd have to take an identification chart to avoid the false ones. Been going thru old pics tonight...cause I'm a sentimental ol slob, and like the strolls down the proverbial lane...thoughts of Kaci's B-day tomorrow brought back her happy birth...home birth with midwife. Lordy, it was like a miracle, Life only gives ya a limited number of those precious moments to have and to hold. Anyhoo...going thru the pics, I get to enjoy all those happy times again...makes me realize I've been blessed. I made Cauliflour soup yesterday, even better today after aging and melding flavors....love that magic blending stick for making creamy soups, one of my better investments. OK, everyone...GET WELL...or I'll be tracking ya down, and practicing my Granny's chants and home remedies on ya! (she cured MULES, too) Shawnee |

Aww Shawnee, it's so nice to take a trip down memory lane isn't it? Gosh, Kaci was delivered by a mid wife. How cool. Wish her a very Happy Birthday from your ol group of low carbers.
Poor Chuckster is a cranky ol man, eh? Hope we are all that independent and spunky at his "age". I'm off to bed but thought you all would get a kick out of this. MAYBE. In case you have a tendency to run out of insults at critical points, the following Shakespearian Insult Kit could come in handy.
