MVM, Thursday...Nov. 4

Hi everybody,

Just getting this started and hope I can get back later. Poor G. is going to see the doctor this afternoon in hopes of getting some relief from the itchy rash. Hopefully his ANA blood test results will be in.

Today is my grand brat's( Demetra ) 8th birthday so my mom and I will go for a brief visit. Her sister, Carlie, and the baby are both ill so we won't stay long.

I picked up a new Atkins Holiday Cookbook and will pour through it later. My goodness, there are some great looking dishes in it.

Shawnee, tell us all about Jackie's stew. Was it beef or something else?
Tell her we miss her.

Roger, we are all worried about you and thinking of you.

Linda, I agree about Roger, it's not fair to not explain an absence. We all worry so much!!
Gee, hope they can find some help for G. Is he awfully miserable or just irritating?
A new cookbook huh? I have a ton of cookbooks and never use them. Now what's with that.

Hi Ginny...............

Feel like sh*t today. Cough and sore throat. I'm sure it's a virus but am going to the dr. tomorrow for my knee so will talk to him. I just hope it doesn't go into asthma or bronchitis.

Bad news about my friends DD in Florida. She is still in a lot of pain. Fluid in her lungs...the blood vessels had grown it's own and covered 1/4 of her kidney already. Paramedic came to see her yesterday and told her if she had waited 30 more min. to call 911 she would've been dead. Scary!

Remember when DD had to go to the Emergency the other night? Her potassium was too low? Well, she started feeling bad again a few days ago, feverish, tingling on her face, no energy...she had another check yesterday on the pot. and yep, it was low again. They put her on pot. pills, not sure why they didn't in the first place. They will send her to a specialist to find out why this is happening. Maybe this explains all her symptoms the past 5-6 years. Before they though it was her liver and had several liver biopsies. Hopefully they can find out why it keeps going too low.

Off to REST!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda sure hope Gerard gets some relief. Did you end up in the ER yesterday? Good that he is seeing that doc soon.
Happy Birthday to Demetra. Too bad those siblings of hers are sick. Enjoy the visit though and wash those hands. I have started to carry some instant hand sanitizer in my car. It works well. I'll have to look for that cookbook.

Shawnee those pics of Burk were wonderful. He is a HAM and sure looked like he enjoyed posing. He has beautiful eyes.
Glad that you got in a visit with Jackie and go to exchange some good foods. No below freezing here yet. We have had your clouds and rain now for several days. Would you please send the sunshine back this way. What are you crocheting?

Julie thanks for that info on the 5th disease. That is probably in the same family as what Leah had. Sorry to hear that you are suffering with a cold, cough and sore throat. Any fever?
Thanks for the update on your friends DD. She needs lots of prayers. Interesting that they did not put your DD on potassium. Good news tho that they are sending her to a specialist to get to the bottom of her problem.

Barb will that idiot be staying there or is he going to leave shortly. I am fear for his life. Why is it that I'm a nurse and have not heard of that disease? Must have been asleep in that class.
Glad the audit went well and you HAVE A PLAN.

Susun enjoy that day off tomorrow. When do you get another vacation? Time for Fla soon. What will you do about seeing little Ella? I am amazed that Leah did not cry yesterday when she saw me standing by her crib when she woke up. She is at that age. She must have recognized me.

Julie, God!! I'm so sorry you ended up with that darn cold and hope it doesn't throw you into an asthma attack.

My mom has an occasional problem with low potassium levels. She eats a lot of Dannon yogurt now and uses Morton's Lite salt and hasn't had a problem lately. Hope they get to the bottom of your DD's problem soon.

Aww Leah must know and love you. It's nice to have a baby who doesn't scream at the site of grandma, eh? Little Nick is like that but my other son's kids always cried when they saw me.

LOL you too? I keep that hand gel in my purse, pockets and the car. Paranoid, eh?

I got the Atkins cook book in the mag. rack at the local supermarket. Maybe you can find one there.

Oh here is a picture of Gerard's rash. It's driving him up the wall. Doctor won't give anymore pred. though. I don't think it helped much. They are waiting for the results from the latest blood work which should be in Mon or Tues. We are at a loss as to what steps to take next if the tests are inconclusive.

Geez Linda, G must be in total misery. I sure feel sorry for him. Does calamine work at all? He hasn't been around Begete has he? LOL Dang, you might have to take him to Begete's Dr. Hope they find out soon.

Hello Gang!

It must be the time of year, all these ailments!

DH still has some remnants of Shingles and the itch is still there but the terrific pain has subsided. He went to his doc today for a check up as he has picked up a virus. The doc sent him for a Chest x ray, thinks he may have some kind of pneumonia. He gave his an Rx for Zithromax.

I feel great now the trudge at the salt mine is over for another week!

That is wonderful that Leah is calm and comfy with you. It is great when they recognise you. 5th disease is the slapped face disease, teachers and pg moms, have to watch out when they are pregnant as it harms the fetus.
