Pregnant Women - A Question For You
I recently found out I was pregnant and have been having dark brown spotting daily. I've had an ectopic before and dark spotting is a classic symptom of it, but I also read how spotting is very common in women with normal pregnancies.
Is it really? Did any of you spot dark brown and go on to have a healthy pregnancy? I'm really scared. I had my first two hCG level test, and they showed my hCG level double, so I guess that is a good sign so far, but the dark brown spotting really worries me. Ultrasounds don't show anything yet. Thanks, Jen |

Hi there Jenny...
I am not pregnant, and never have been either but DH and are TTC. But, I have heard of spotting brown when you are pregnant. I believe it usually happens at the beginning. I believe it is called Implantation Bleeding. I don't know a whole lot about it, but why don't you come join the pregnancy thread tomorrow?!? The ladies in there are so helpful and nice, and I am sure someone in there has some advice for you. It is usually slow this time of night, but check in in the morning! Hope to see you there...I hope everything is okay with you. Try to relax.

I had spotting at the time my AF would have been due for the first 3 months of my last pregnancy.
I would assume that if you aren't having any other symptoms and ultrasound didn't show anything that you are okay. How far along are you? |

Thanks everyone for being so kind. My last two hCG tests were really low (18 then 38), so my doc says it is really early.
I am not in pain, but I had been having a pelvic ache and pressure, just like with my ectopic, but it has disappeared! I guess that may be a good sign. The doc thinks the pain was caused by a luteal cyst he found on one of my ovaries and said it is extremely common in pregnant women. He said they shrink and maybe mine has. I am still spotting brown blood and just don't know what to make of it. |

Come join us in the pregnancy thread. You may get more replies since the thread is concentrated with TTC's and pregnant gals. Plus moms who have been pregnant.
The first trimester is agony because there aren't a lot of indications that let you know the pregnancy is good or bad. I had the luteal cyst as well. My doctor seemed to be pleased with it because it takes certain hormones too make one so my body was working. We did find out my progesteron was low, so I've been on supplements. I wish there was something to say. This is my second pregnancy (lost the first one) so I don't know much. Like I said - pop in the pregnancy thread and share your concerns. We have a great support network over there. How much are you bleeding?

Thanks so much to everyone's responses. I really appreciate it. I'm sorry it has taken me long to reply.
GoJackets - congratulations!!!!! I hope everything goes wonderfully for you. Well, I've been exhausted, nauseous, and my boobs are a little tender, so maybe every thing is alright! I just took my 3rd hCG quant today. I don't know the results yet but will when I visit my doc. The dark spotting is continuing, but I pray that it is normal in my case. Thanks you guys. I will mosey on over to the Pregnancy Thread.By the way, what is TTC? |
