ALL SAINTS hang on to the Vintage Maintain Mountain

Good Morning kiddies,

November already? Where do our lives disappear to?

Nothing big today. Bob left for the VA downtown to get a flu shot- they FINALLY got them in for old servicemen. He'll have his lipids run also. Routine stuff but it gets him his simvastatin for $7 a month.

I guess I'll go without a flu shot this year; I probably had the flu ALREADY.

Shawnee, I need a sympathetic ear for my joints. I developed ANOTHER trigger finger and it's been annoying me for 2 months. This is left pinky so not as bad as the last one: right ring finger. BUT I pour out all my meds and vitamins (probably 20 pills) holding bottle in right and pouring into the left. Net result is my left hand is closed around these pills and I have to snap the pinky open to throw them into my gullet. WELLLL, several of the "SNAPS" have shot the pills all over the bathroom
I need a cortisone shot into my palm< and they hurt like HELL in the hand...or any joint for that matter>...PLUS I need to see GP to get a referral to a Sports Doctor or rheumatologist for the shot-- MUCH bother.
Have you ever botten a trigger...B itches aren't they?

Gonna try that pumpkin casserole in a couple days. After all, a pumpkin is just another winter squash! Need some pumpkin spices though...the powdered ginger I have is dreadful...I should toss it and stick to the real stuff with TASTE!

To all a good day. Catholics, remember, you will burn in Hell if you don't go th Mass on a HDofA! (I'm typing from a Cathedral right now!) (a dizzy saint)

Zip, at least today is our feast day All Saints -- was yesterday yours? Poor Souls?

You sound a bit Catholic yourself -- crossing myself with holy water as I say that. I'm ok with not going to the High Mass today because I bought an indulgence!!

I just could not resist this one.

Back to work..... Barb

Hey Today is not even a Holy Day of obligation any more. They have changed its status. So no need to go to confession.

Hey Roger thanks for helping SuSUN post that darling picture. Ella is a real doll. Just look at those cheeks. It's about time we get a good look at Ella.

Zip I think you will have to end up having surgery for that thumb.
Find a doc that does it through a scope. I think it can be repaired that way but I may be wrong. They do lots of things now a days using the scopes. Put those pills in a medicine cup. Must be aggrivating picking them off the floor.

SuSun is that your or DD holding Ella? Just not sure because you look so young in your pics.

Going for an eye exam today. Worry about the glaucoma that I might have also inherited. Talked with doc about the altace and he did not think my reaction was from the drug. Try it again he says. I'll take half first and see what happens.

Shawnee Burk is a full fledged DOG now. No more puppy look at all. He looks like he is enjoying a great life. Dil has a name for Leah to call me, I can't remember if it is Granny or what. Here downsouth they have strange names like NINI. I said NO on that one. Brittany is sure enjoying her little sis. I remember that DGBs wedding too. Time sure flies when we are all having fun.

Julie for your friends DD. Hope you get some good news soon. Do they know what caused the bleeding?

Linda glad you liked that corny joke. I thought it was sort of cute. How is Gerard's rash today? I used to love chocolate covered graham crackers. No wonder I got allergic to chocolate.

Barb I like that one

I find it hard to believe that Catholics are still talking about indulgences. Personally I think that thinking is obsolete.

Ginny guess we were posting at the same time. It is warm here today but much rain forecasted and cool down later during the week. It's funny getting dark so early. Guess we will get adjusted.

Later folks

Hey gang,

Not much new here. Still sunny and warm for us, mid 70's for today I think. Didn't get anything done on the floor this weekend, had company Saturday, and then some friends dropped in yesterday evening for a visit. Was sure good to see them.....surprisingly we don't see them often even though they are only about 6 miles down the road!

Zip, ouch on the trigger finger...almost sounds like minor surgery to file down the catch! DMIL had that on her thumb and it was an easy slice and shave.

Shawnee, just gotta love that Burkpup, what a sweet little face! Good that Kaci has worked with him so much and turned him into a canine good citizen LOL on who dogs respond to....ours mind both of us pretty well, and there's one tone of voice I use if I REALLY want to get their attention. I call it the 'momma voice' and don't need to use it often. That voice literally stops them in their tracks and I get the uh-oh look from everyone!

Susan, way too cute, little Ella in her costume! Great avatar for you too! Enjoy your sunshine while you've got it!

Linda, I cook because I need to eat. The venison bbq turned out great, so that one is a keeper....any venison roast that crosses my path will get turned into BBQ now! DH loved it, and didn't even know it was lc!

Loretta, rumor has it we are supposed to cool off a bit now....have you started yet? Not looking forward to jacket weather AT ALL!

Julie, so sorry for your friend! Bad stuff does seem to gang up on a person for a bit before it moves on, and it's really tough when it all compounds like that. Hugs to all!

Becca, how's things up in your neck of the woods?

Well, all, off to lurk for just a bit then get the day moving.

Hi gang,

It's gotten cooler around here and rain is forecast for later. It certainly looks like November around here. Oh well, at least there is no snow predicted yet. One Halloween a few years ago, we had a foot of snow so I guess we are lucky.
G. is off to get the truck inspected. Can you believe we now need an appointment for that? Must be because of the more extensive check of the emission system or something. More money for NYS.

Roger, ouch on the trigger finger. I can sympathize. My left pinky ( top joint) is swollen, red, hot and painful.

We will be very interested in Bob's lipid panel results. I know he is very thin and very physically active so I hope he is just fine.

Barb, "Zip, at least today is our feast day All Saints -- was yesterday yours? Poor Souls?" Oh that's a good one.
Don't work too hard.

Loretta, It may be worth a try to take the Altace one more time at a very reduced dose. Because of my sensitivity to many drugs, I always start with a minuscule dose. From what I understand, most drugs are tested on healthy, large MALES , so less of the medication may be in order for us smaller females.

Good luck with the eye test. I MUST get to the eye doctor soon. It's been over 2 years.

Julie, have you had any news on your friend's DD?

G's rash is still there as is the mild swelling around his left eye.

Ginny, LOL guess the need to eat is reason enough for us to cook, eh?

Yup the momma voice sure does get their attention. I use mine with Dakota but unfortunately both Gerard and my DD have a bit of a giggle to their's when they try to discipline him. Oh Well.

Shawnee, Burk is such a handsome boy, and so big too. Kacie did a fantastic job training him. She should be very proud.

Susan, oh that picture of Ella is so cute!! You will become an expert and shrinking them down soon to use for your avatar.

Waving to Jackie, Becca and

The cortisone shot cured my other trigger finger. I'll bear with it for another month and then get a shot. Getting surgery on it would put it FAR down my To Do List !

You got that avatar up there one-two three Susun, Congrats.

Target had a fab sale on fish oil caps and I bought 12 bottles...bob still takes the liquid but if I can get caps at the same price I'll do it. These worked out at even LESS than the liquid!

Ginny, how much is a 750 pound steer yeilding 400 pounds edible...WITH the tongue...hold the ears though. (I actually ATE them once...like chewing a loafer!)

Hey, guess who just called...yep my avatar. Five minutes ago. Maria Schriver yesterday...John Corzine (our senator) on Friday.

Julie, so sorry about your friend...so many people get so much sh&t thrown at them.

Barb,
Yep a choir boy turned apostate here...Sister Mary Morbid and Steve Reeves bear the responsibility. Nuts, I must have been the ONLY cute Catholic boy who wasn't molested. That could give a guy an inferiority complex.
I could have used a few $$million extra!
I guess I had too few priests and too many nuns (13 years worth!OY!)
Barb,
How much are indulgences going for these days! I need 4,693,214 years worth...or a Papal Plenary! Wait, I did the Nine First Fridays....that comes with a "Get Out Of Hell FREE" Card!

Loretta,
Did they REALLY scotch ALL SAINTS DAY??? Is Nothing sacred?Next they'll be allowing fish on Friday and work on Sunday!

Not much to report here. It rained all morning, and now at 2 p.m., it seems the sun is peeking out. Or is it just a cameo appearance?

I'm at work, so I best get back to it.

You guy's are all so funny about Catholicism. Yep, haven't had to go to mass on this holiday forever!! Sure are a lot of Catholics on this thread!!! OR ex ones!!

Zip, never had a trigger finger but that cortisone shot does sound painful. I had about 4 in each hand at the base of my thumb...owwww Still didn't work in the one thumb so had surgery and it's been pain free ever since.....except for some arthritis!
Nice of you to help SuSun with her avatar!!

SuSun, love the avatar. Had to laugh at you going to DD so she can work out. When Nick was a baby, I babysat him 3 days a week so I would sit him in his infant seat at the top of the stairs and he would watch me run those stairs for 45 min. (those were the good ole days and my youth! )

Loretta, how's the bp coming? Hope the eye exam comes out ok. How often do you get them checked for the glaucoma?

Ginny, sure envy your 70's weather. It's really cold and rainy here today. So gloomy but what do we expect? It's fall!!

Linda, no I haven't heard from my friend since she arrived in Florida. She is probably at the hospital but maybe tonight she'll email or call. Bleeding hadn't stopped yet.
Did I read that G was going in to see a different doc about his rash? Dang rashes and hives are so difficult to dx.

Barb, we enjoyed our football yesterday as the Seahawks won. Hard to get excited too much as you never know which team will show up on the field any given Sunday.

Hi Turn!!!

Nick's gf left today for the east coast to visit her dad for 28 days! He's been crying all day! My God, young love is tough!!! Kind of worried he will become depressed but am going to keep a real good eye on him. Also getting her cold....dang, he better not give it to me with the cruise coming up.

Can't seem to lose a damn lb! I wanted to lose a few so I could gain it back on the cruise! Not going to happen. Decided I'm eating a lot less than I was and still not losing so what the heck!! I'm back to eating lots!!

You see Julie -- you can't lose a pound because God is punishing for NOT going to Mass on All Saints Day.!!

You would be wise to buy a plenary indulgence (from me, of course) and I would put in a good word for you!

Oh, so the Seahawks won did they -- well, the Broncos are playing with my feelings!!

My DD is in MN going to grad school -- she decides to go to the BIG Halloween party in Madison WI -- well, they arrested 400 of those party-goers and she calls us.........

She didn't go at the last minute! Thank God!! Her boyfriend was sick and couldn't drive. And..... they said that one third of the people arrested were from MN and they don't want them back for next year.

How long Lord, does this parenting go on????????????:

THAT PICTURE Susan is neat!! Abo****ely gorgeous!!

Later, Barb

Hi Guys,

Julie,
I was mainly company for DD today. She exercises for only about 1/2hour Julie, then the shower, hair, make up etc.... Young'un's eh? WE did have a long walk in the woods with the dogs and Ella in her stroller. It was perfect Fall day with lots of Golden leaves at our feet.
Hope you dont catch that cold, so close to your cruise! Take the Vit C and get lots of fresh air. My old stand bys!
Sending positive vibes to your friend and family in that hospital room.

Turn,
Good camouflage typing at work! I can see why we had a short note from you.

Roger,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE STEPS AND FOR RESIZING/CROPPING THAT PIC OF ELLA FOR MY AVATAR! I could not have done it without you. Were you tired of looking at Oliver?
Ouch on the thumb pain! Did you ever do physio therapy exercises to help loosen it up and strengthen the muscles around those aging bones. That is my secret weapon against this aging process. It should be covered on your Health Insurance, check into that.
Had to re-read your sentence regarding the Fab sale. I was reading quickly and read Target had a flab sale, yuk who wants more of that?
LOVE the Catholic humour! Had a dozen or so years of it myself!
I did however receive a plenary indulgence from Pope Pius in the early 1950's. How life has changed........LOL!

Linda,
Hope the truck check went well!
Did you mention the sneaux? LOL!
Our temp usually drops drastically around Rememberance Day and we may get some flurries. Then, the start of the long haul is with us. Thank God for Florida!

Loretta,
WE all just loved Leah in her Duck outfit. They are so cute at that age. Yes, that is DD in the pic with Ella, not me for sure, few more wrinkles and more flab cuz dont exercise as much as DD. LOL!

Ginny,
LOVE the Momma voice and the uh oh, doesnt that just describe them to a tee!

Shawnee,
He has marvellous markings and a classy colouring. His tongue is so pink and smooth. Just perfect! Looks like Kaci has done a wonderful job raising him! I should send her Oliver for a week! He is improving as he gets more socialized (sp). He thanks you for the Kisses and Hugs.

I had another wonderful day today with many blessings to count and be Content!

SuSUN

I heard from my friend tonight. They did surgery today on her dd. You won't believe what they did. They went up through the vigina and put slivered PVC pipe in the blood vessels feeding the tumor. This is suppose to stop the bleeding and hopefully starve the tumor. This seems very strange to me but since I'm not a dr. I guess that explains it! They said she has a 50% chance she has one on the other kidney too. Time will tell. Just thought I'd update you.
