FRIDAY the 20th for MVM's
Good Morning,
Loretta, Glad to see you both home and to hear that the hematoma has stopped bleeding. Gooey Weather for second day (97% and 80 degrees at the crack of dawn...air conditioners opn and house sealed. We are looking at another 24-36 hours of this. We saw a REALLY good show at the Fringe Festival yesterday (That's the series that carpets Manhattan with shows all through the Month of August.) It was called "BELIEVE IN ME...A Bigfoot musical." Fifteen talented people and about 10 of them VERY talented. This was the best reviewed of all the Fringe shows and they had us packed into a small PACE UNIVERSITY studio auditorium...with POOR air conditioning. Programs waving like mad, I should have worn Speedos! Somebody tossed an old Compaq Presario Notebook into the compacter room. Bob retreived it and I'll diddle with it ...I think I found the right manual online (Auuuggghhh...188 page Adobe Acrobat file... That would have been a 2 week download with my old dial up) Most likely scenario is that the owner tossed it when the battery stopped holding a decent charge and, if so, since the batteries START at over $100, then it's back in the garbage very soon. LOL it's RAM is 80Mb and it's loaded with Win 95. It might be more trouble than it's worth. But a fiddle is worth a fart! ![]() Phonecia just dropped her last bloom. Lord, she's bloomed since the middle of MAY with a total of 30 good sized flowers ..a nice show from the old girl.Enjoy the day...If you're stuck for something to do, go see MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

Good morning folks.
Hope all is well with you. Loretta, glad to hear your DH is home and improving. to you both.Had Dgrdaughter and Dgrson each spend a night this week. They are growing soooo fast! I'll post some pics of Dgrson later. The summer is whittling away and soon..all too soon I'll be back to work. I don't wanna work------I've decided to be rich. Where's the instruction manual on how to be rich. Damn, I must have misplaced it. Ok, here's a joke for the day: VERY SENIOR MOMENT An elderly couple was having dinner at another couple's house, and after their meal, the wives left the table to go to the kitchen. The two elderly men were talking, and one said, "Last night we went out to a fabulous new restaurant that I'd highly recommend." The other man said, "What's the name of the restaurant?" With a furrowed brow, the first man thought long and hard, finally saying, "Ah, what is the name of that red flower you give to someone you love?" His friend replied, "A carnation?" "No, no - the other one," the man said. His friend suggested, "A poppy?" "No, no, no." growled the man. "You know - the one that is red and has thorns." His friend said, "Do you mean a rose?" "Yes! Thank you!" the first man said. He then turned toward the kitchen and yelled, "Rose, what's the name of that new restaurant ![]() |

We sure are happy to be home too. Now we can put this behind us and go forward. Dh is feeling better and that site is still looking dry and much less edematous. Thanks for the well wishes.
Zip what a find. I wonder if the battery is why they tossed it. That fiddle is worth a fart. I like that.Your trip to the "best reviewed of all the Fringe shows and they had us packed into a small PACE UNIVERSITY studio auditorium...with POOR air conditioning. Programs waving", sounds similar to DGD graduation but try NO air conditioning and not a very good show either. Barb hope you have a good shopping experience. I sure don't enjoy shopping for clothes. Even if I find something I like, once I get it home it seems like I rethink it and sometimes don't care for what I thought I liked. Best of luck to you. Jackie I enjoyed the pics of DGD with friend enjoying the water sprinkler. I remember when. Yes I can remember that far back. Thanks for the LAUGH OF THE DAY Catching up today on laundry and sleep. Later, Loretta |

Running in real quick for a minute.
I'm making some soup, cleaning and doing laundry. Moms will be here for Dinner on Sunday so I have a lot to do. Roger, You would think if it's the battery the person who had that laptop would have replaced it or taken it to a computer shop for a look see. Hopefully it's something you can fix. I really would love a lap top to take on trips but ol "tight pockets" doesn't think it's necessary..also did you hook up that printer? Barb, fill us in on all the new clothes you got. Fine any great bargains? Jackie, Thanks for the laugh. If you find that manual, send me a copy. I've been trying to locate mine for the past 60 years or so. Loretta, You two must be so relieved. Those darn hematomas are not fun. I had one in my cheek after a small surgery to remove a little lesion. Geezzz That is why our plastic surgeons always told people not to take any aspirin for two weeks before surgery and to take 1000mg Vit C. What a difference it made. Susan, we need an update on Ella and mom. Waving to Julie, Ginny, Shawnee. We miss you and are thinking of you. Back to the soup pot and perhaps make one more batch of home made ice cream. |

While reading my book:
I ate my lunch of crookneck squash sauted with bacon and onion. Diced fresh toms on top. then: a bag (about 1 1/2 cups) of my frozen blueberries. Reading still and: another bag of my frozen blueberries....YIKERS!! What is it about reading that makes me want to eat??????? Damn..and I'm making such good progress too. Back down a whole size in my clothes. Self sabotage....that's it----my own worst enemy. ![]() |

Hello Gang!
Sorry bin MIA! Was a busy week over at DD's was a tad tired in the evenings to get online. Jacki, Me too, facing work in two weeks. WAAAAAAYYY! I am not ready either!LOVE THE PICS OF YOUR DGS! YES, INDEED WHERE DID YOUR BABY GO?[/b] He looks all grown up and ready for middle school. Thank you for the chuckles, we all need that on Fridays! Linda, Ya sure sound a busy gal! What kind of soup? Loretta, Glad your ordeal is over re: the hematoma draining. Now some TLC for YOU do take some time for sleep it is so rejuvinating! Barb, Happy hunting at the Malls! Do you go for the traditional Fall looks or stylish stuff. I have the traditional burgandy twin set with grey flannels, the navy twin set etc. I went to Catholic all girls convent school, uniform mandatory, kinda stays with ya, but when I get home, as Linda says, I climb into my snuggles to lounge around.Do report you cool finds! Roger, Wow, that fiddling is well worth it if ya get a lap top out of it. This is what I use all the time. I do not have a standing type 'puter. This is a Sony lap top. DSIL's old 'puter. He has a fax and scanner for me too when I can get the time to learn all about it. He just bought the latest photo, scanner and fax all in one as he has many photos to print these days! So I get the cast off's.......I'll take that. Almost a poor old pensioner! We have 6 DVDS from DSIL tonight to go through, not sure which one we will watch. DH is presently napping, after working all day on the house agin putting the trim on the baseboards and around the doors. So I will probably have to choose a short one. Ginny, Guess you are so busy with all those ebay sales! Waving to Shawnee, Julie and All, SuSUN! ![]() Last edited by SuSUN : 08-20-2004 at 07:02 PM. |

Honies, I'm home.....
Got some GREAT bargains!! I Never buy anything for full price and I had a discount card from Herberger's for 30% off of that!! This is one of the very few times I have ended up with a lot of clothes for a good price. I also ended up with four (yes 4) new pair of shoes (bec. I could use the 30% off all day) for $36. Now I just new to find some space in the closet and a few more hangers. Susan, I was looking for something for work, I have plenty of sweats for home.Jacki, your time is a-comin' girl -- back to work!! Our new kitchen isn't finished so they will send sack lunches for a couple of weeks. Pictures are great -- the last one looks like "must you take another picture?" I LOVE that joke !! Well, ZIP, if you like to fiddle and fart........ I've always had a laptop at home and love it. The batteries get cheaper with newer models. I now have two batteries with my Dell and one can always be charged. Waving to everyone else........ till the morrow Barb ![]()
