Aug. 19 for the Vintage Maintainers

Humm, It looks like I'm the first one up today, so I'll get this started.

Loretta, please check in when you can. We are all getting concerned.

I'm off to the grocery store and walk DD's pup.

You all really, really have to get to Wal Mart , pick up the "salt less" ice cream maker ( $16.00 only) and make some wonderful home made ice cream.

It's really easy. Basically you make a custard using milk, cream, and egg and vanilla ( you can add any flavorings you want to the basic custard), chill that for two hours then pour into the machine and "churn" for 20 minutes or so. OMG it's so good.

Wow!! Just you and me...... Linda, all the maintainers must be out enjoying the sunshine!

I am also concerned about Loretta and her DH -- let's hope that he is all right.

We have a all staff pot luck soon...... just don't have to worry about having something to eat anymore -- it's become so easy.

Later, Barb

Just a quick check in here to night. I am so tired. Dh went in Wednesday afternoon for out patient surgery to drain the hematoma at the pacemaker site. After the surgery (about 3 in the afternoon) doc said that Dh's white count was elevated so we needed to treat him with IV antibiotics for a few days.
He had to be admitted as an inpatient. This morning I came home and got my food and other supplies, took a shower and went back. When I got there DH said that the doc had been in and we could come home late today after some more of the iv antibiotics got infused. (he never did run a temp) and Zip he is not on any blood thinners. Just an asa a day, which I stopped giving to him. I am so happy to be home. The pacemaker site looks a whole lot better and no more bleeding or edema.

I will catch up with you all tomorrow. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

Loretta

Oh Loretta, what a relief for you, him and us.
Did they say what may have caused the hematoma in the first place? Possibly the asa? That does cause a lot of problems post op.

Get some much needed rest.

Barb, enjoy that pot luck lunch. I'm sure you will do just fine in the food dept. It's really easy to stay legal.

I miss everyone else.

Yes Loretta, it's good to hear from you. I'm happy that they were able to do something while you were there.

I'm home from the pot luck because it's raining -- beautiful rainbow!!

I'm going clothes shopping tomorrow -- need some new duds for work!!

Hey gang,

Busy day today at work. Much more than I care for at least! Glad it's over.

Loretta, so glad to hear you and DH are home, safe and sound. Now, hopefully, he will heal up fine and have no more troubles! Hugs to you both!

Linda, Barb and all, have a good night. I'm off to lurk for a bit then hit the sack.
