Monday the 16th for MVM

Mornin' gang!

Well, a good weekend for us, a little busy here and there as well as some unwind time. Got our pics back, and I will try to scan one in pretty soon. We took some time yesterday and made an orchid shirt with a humorous twist. The iron on transfer sheets you can print on from the computer work really well, and we have a couple more planned.

Linda, great pics of the gbrats! I know you gotta be partial to them--a great looking bunch!

Loretta, hope all is well with you and DH. Has the bleeding stopped yet?

Shawnee, those old cars are quite cool. My cousin up in WI has two 50's model Fords that he's restoring. One is a '50, the other is a '56 Fairlane I think. He loves doing that kind of work, and they have a blast at the shows.

Zip, nothing wrong with a 'night in'! Actually any more, I like that kind the best! Did they ever fix your foyer?

Julie, wow, what a project! Sounds like the bash went very well. Didn't know it was a fundraiser, do you have other events planned as well? Glad y'all had a great time

Susan, pics came through just fine for me. Ella sure is growing! I know you'll be glad to have your DH back home safe and sound, hopefully the Tuesday flight will work out.

Jacki, so what did you get into this weekend? More projects planned or just some relaxing?

Barb, when do you officially start back to work? Are the meetings daily or just here and there?

Well, better do a quick lurk and then start the day. Y'all stay well and happy!

Good morning, just a quick check in for me until later. I'm off to let my daughter's pup out and then go to my Allergist's. This new med seems to be working much better for my asthma than my old one. As much as I hate taking anything, this is a keeper. Hopefully there will be no adverse reactions down the road.

It's RAINING yet again This is unreal to say the least.

Ginny,
Glad you had a good weekend and managed to get some down time.
How difficult is it to make those transfer sheets on the computer? What kind of paper do you use? It would be an interesting project for my grand brats and I to play with.

Can't wait to see some more pictures. Are you going to put them here or in your album?

Waving to everyone else.

More later.

Hi to all

Never got here yesterday, just a busy day. Little Leah and her mom came over for a while in the afternoon.

We butterflyed DH incision on Sat afternoon. I was about to take him to the ER. He has not bled since then but it could be building up inside that pacer pocket again. But the site does not look very much more swollen. Sure will be glad to see that doc tomorrow. If I don't show up here that is what we are doing. We also want to stop and say good bye to DGD in the city who will be leaving for college this week.

Ginny more talent there with the shirts. Sounds like a great idea. My DS who runs wanted me to make a quilt out of his T shirts from the various races. I sure would like to see one.
Where do you get all of those ideas?

Linda glad to hear that your rx for the asthma is working for you.
I heard on the news the other day that children prone to asthma are better off with several pets? Just wonder how much time they put in on that study? You can sent that rain this way. We sure could use some of it. That Pot Roast recipe of Bruces, sure made a great tasting roast. It was so tender and the sauce that it made was great tasting.

Julie glad to hear that the BICHON BASH was so successful in raising funds for the critters. Bet you were busy being the organizer.

Shawnee thanks for the pics of the cars. That 57 chevy is quite the car. Those vintage cars are quite a hobby with some. I like to see them. Thanks for sharing.

Later folks,

Lretta

Hi guys,

Just a quick passing through.

Yep, We got caught in the rain hauling groceries back from ShopRite...Dreary wet summer- second in a row for us!

Overate a YUMMY roast chicken (roaster size) from BJ's and STILL have enough left for a curry.

Vicki visiting tomorrow and we'll go see THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE in the back yard.

Loretta,
Is hubby taking PLAVIX?

Ginny,
Are those iron ons readily available. What goes on the shirt, the ink from your printer or something already in the paper? I'm confused how they would work.

TV or NOT TV, THAT is the question (and the answer is ALWAYS the same)...olympic diving tonight! Goody.

Favorite gag line of the day: "I could have been in the Olympics but I was never any good at SPORTS!

That's good Zip -- I was never very good either, but wave if you get the chance!!

What is butterfly the incision? Speaking to these medical folks.........

Good luck to you Loretta, and hope everything works out for the best!

Linda, what meds are you on for asthma? I have swiched to Advail once a day and seems to be the solution! I hated taking so many of the others.

Ginny and anyone asking -- the kiddos will come to school on August 25 but meanwhile we are having some inservices and workdays to get ready. Of course, I need to take one day to do clothes shopping!!

Anyone watching the Olympics? Diving is good, Zip, watched a little of the gymnastics last night and swimming.

Wave at me when you see me.........

Good Evening All,

Back from another day with Ella and Mom.

DH has confirmed that his flight will be okay for tomorrow. He will double check again in the morning. DS and DH went out for supper again tonight, to be in some A/C, as some places are up and running.

They came home around 9p.m to find that they have power. DS was so relieved, he said Dad look we have lights on as they came down the street, some houses have power others still dont.

DH doesn't feel so bad leaving him alone to face the mess now.

Barb,
Here is a wave to YOU!
Enjoy those last few days. Me too returning Sept 1st.

Roger,
Sounds like that chicken was on steriods, overate and them some over for Curry, yikes! Need to get it tested at the Olympics!

Loretta,
Sounds great that your DDIL brought Leah over to see you, just what you needed right now to cheer you up!
I am sure your DH prefers your TLC of his incision to drain it.
Thinking of you tomorrow to get it sorted.

Linda,
I bet that pup is glad you are around to let him out once in a while.
That med sounds like a good one, what is it?
Sorry you are having rain again. I guess we will get it soon too.
It was sunny and warm up here today but I was indoors most of the day, except for Olviers little walk mid afternoon.

Ginny,
Waiting along with Shawnee for you to scan those Pics!
Sounds like you too have a creative flair like our Dear Jacki, the shirt sounds like fun!

Shawnee,
THANK YOU for telling me what that funny taste was in the Atkins wrap from subway last week. I have been meaning to thank you for that. DD too found the taste a bit yukky too!
LOVED your Son's COP sense of humour! LOL!

Julie,
Looks like the bichons had a jolly good time at their Fund raising Tea Party! Good for you raising $800.00 for the animal rescue.

Jacki,
What project are you up to now? Those chairs have to be the most creative project that I have seen in a long time.

Wavin to Y'all

Hope to have DH home tomorrow at supper time.

SuSUN

back for one more check before bed. Yeah, right.

Geezz Loretta, we will all be anxiously awaiting news on your DH. Hopefully that pacer pocket is not still bleeding. Damned Blood thinners. They are a life saver but quite a nuisance.

Roger, LMAO the Olympics, eh? Me too but my tennis coach said I couldn't walk up stairs and chew gum at the same time.

Have a great day with Vicki. Where are you all going in her car other than the theater?

We got a horrific storm about 3 PM here. Torrential rain, lightening and hail. Geezzz. I was in wally world just hanging out until it stopped enough for me to get to the car without drowning.

Barb, Gosh, it's getting back to the school year for you very soon. Hopefully the semester will go fast with not too many problems.

Butterfly is pulling the edges of a wound together and "splinting" with tape to keep it closed. We did a lot of that after a plastic surgical procedure and suture removal.

Long term asthma will reduce the lung function more than the average 5% a year after age 35 so I have reduced lung function as well as severe asthma. The new med is Tiotropium, a new medication for those with severe asthma and COPD. Tiotropium is similar in action to Atrovent (ipratropium bromide) and classified as an anticholinergic medication with extended action up to 36 hours. So far it's working wonderfully in combination with my steroid inhaler, Pulmicort, and Clarinex.

Susan, it's great to hear that your DH is on his way home to you. How stressful that must have been for him and your son. Those poor people. Glad the power is back for most of them.

Julie, yeah it must be the year. LOL So were are the other pictures of the Bichons? AND what is going on with you?

OK were is Shawnee?

Sorry Linda, things around here are not going good. Now, Nick's sister, Jana 14 yo is evidently moving in with her dad. I'm just trying to keep MY head above water here. Was doing better but this was a blow. I just don't feel like posting and bringing everyone down. Have to resize the pics and get them in Photoisland. I will try tomorrow.
