MVM Sunday

Hi everybody,

Loretta,
I hope all goes well with you and DH on your visit to the doctor.

Susan,
Gee what awful timing your hubby had...that storm really hammerred FL. Glad neither DS or SH was hurt.

Nobody's put this together on the news yet but CHARLEY hit on FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH and killed THIRTEEN PEOPLE!

Just a little rain overnight here...barely anything at all. Bob a bit miffed that I was overcautious and we skipped a night of theater...hoh, hum!

Nothing in the cards today except a walk to ShopRite...I'm in the mood for a couple nice 3/4 pound Rainbow Trout...with cauliflower remains; let's see if the store cooperates with nice shiny eyed beauties!

Looks like a week of showery weather because this damn TROUGH that has been stuck since the beginning of recorded HISTORY!
I should also think about a doctor's appointment for some new numbers...gonna get it all: CRP, homocysteine, Lp(a), all liver enzymes, uric acid, and of course the basic lipid profile and complete arthritis profile. Maybe my testosterone again, too (although it was fine 3 years ago.)
I also need a referral to a shoulder specialist (thanks for that surgeon list last month, Linda...and the incentive to install THE DAMN INKJET.)

Off to the races (lox/bagel/cream cheese/Vidalia onion for brekkie<yumm>); be well all.

Good SUNday to One and All!

Yes, things seem to be clearing, getting up and running down in FLA. Still no power at DS's, so the phone is patchy for some reason, works some of the time! The airport is partially, up and running. USAir are not operating till Tuesday, so DH will have to wait it out. He is helping DS with the clean up. Backyard strewn with tree limbs, palm trees completely uprooted and such.

They managed to buy a gas tank at a gas station on Saturday for $50.00, so DH can at least make his tea in the morning. DS had just moved on Tuesday so he had no gas in the BBQ tank.
They had bought the essentials for the hurricane supplies water etc.. but no lamps or gas stove!
They miss the TV in the evenings and lights of course, so its early to bed for them. DS has been visiting friends a little bit to break the monotony, some hotels and such have generators, so gives him a break. DH is not too interested in going out, just in the daytime.

Roger,
Those shiney-eyed trout sound delicous! How will you cook them, pan fried with garlic?
Interesting about the 13th and 13 fatalities.
Cornwall is not a pretty City. It is quite an industrial place with lots of smelly factories. It is quite francophone too, so not sure if it will suit your needs.
Ottawa will be perfect for you needs, theatres, shows, museums, more life and no factories here. On the whole a very clean City....but I am a BIT biased!

Ginny
That workshop sounds a dream. DH would love to semi retire into a business like that, being a machinist, he is very handy with wood too. He loves a project, hence. why he is down with DS helping agin! Will your cousin sell on eBay too?
Sassy is very protective of the baby and growls if anyone other than DD goes near her. She forgets who is who, she growls at me and DD's DH too. Which makes us all jump.
It is so cute to see her sit by the babies basinet waiting to help. She tries to lick the babies head and has a good sniff at her. Oliver is a little more curious and inquisitive and seems to need more of my attention if I have just held the baby but he is getting more used to her now.

Loretta,
Hang in there, WE are all here for you, should you need us.
I too had that dilemma when I was diagnosed back in March, the treatment options were tamoxifen, with chemo & radiation should it become invasive, or the radical mastectomy. The later is still my treatment of choice. I do not want the alternatives. Still sitting on this decision. Sunday prayers are with you today! sending many big hugs.
I did work in a Neurology Unit a few years back and recall that some came in for surgery and the outcome was found to be benign, even the malignancies had excellent treatment and went on the have normal lives.

Linda,
LOVE THOSE PICS OF NICHOLAS! What a handsome Boy! I would expect no less from such a "looker" for a Grandma!
YOU are very blessed to have such gorgeous granddaughters too!

Wavin to Y'all and hope to be back this evening!

Gosh where is everyone today?

We were gone all afternoon to my niece's party and then my son and his family dropped in unannounced shortly after we got home. Son watched Gerard dig a hole for a support post while his wife and I entertained the kids with a video that will probably give them nightmares. LOL. "Dangerous Encounters" by Marty Stouffer about animal attacks. evil It's called payback.

Roger, so did you install that printer? You best hurry up before the cartridges dry up. Just plug that baby in and it will practically install itself.

Yeah, you should have gone out last night. We didn't get much rain either.

You should come to Montana with us. There is nothing better than a fresh caught rainbow pan fried over an open fire. It's to die for.

Last count...16 dead but still, Friday the 13th.Humm.

Susan, Thanks for sharing the pictures of your Ella and DD. She is sure a bright eyed little gal and so darn pretty.
I'm rather partial to my grand brats so thanks for the compliments.

Hope your DH can get out of there soon and get home. Is your son's electricity and phone back on yet?

Waving to the MIA's.
back later

SLIM PICKINGS HERE TONIGHT!
I guess our gang is watching the Olympics and doing Family Sunday stuff!

Linda,
I see YOU have your WOW Pic for your avitar! WTGG!
I had forgotten to mention this morning that I am down another 1lb, not sure if it is the extra activity or the yoghurt blueberries concoction! I'll take it, which ever it is! I still dont look as good as YOU!

Regarding, WE are a productive lot, I wonder who will be next in our group? Hummmmm!

I think the order goes, from the youngest Ella, Nikolas, Leah, Logan, then I am not sure who is the next youngest.

That pan fried rainbow in the open air sounds heavenly. I could just do with someone whisking me away right now for some R & R. I return to work in 2 more weeks.

Shawnee,
Glad you could open the pics okay, not sure of the size again. DsonIL took them today and sent them on to me. Julie said she could not open them.
Loretta, Linda and yourself could open them so far.
I apologise for any inconvenience in opening them.

I thought YOU would spy Sassy in the background. WE all know how you LOVE critters.

Done lots of chores this weekend to pass the time, waiting for DH to return on Tuesday hopefully.

DS still has no power down there, the phone is off and on. It has not been on this evening, spoke to DH this aft, so still a poor situation down there. DH said not much help showing up, huge, uprooted trees just left on the roadways. I guess the City crews only work Mon to Fri?

Where is Jacki with those good jokes we need another one right now.

Off to DD's again tomorrow for the dayshift. Hard work but I am losing weight, so it can't be all that bad.

Hi Y'all

another warm afternoon here. We went to an ol' car show in a small town.

Company came after returning home..NO naps for us ..... ...GBrats, then Bob's cousin.

Montana, wow...you seem to have a knack for collecting exceptionally darling GBrats..really! Nice Avatar shot, Gal.

Yes, SuSUN...I do have Pup radar...thanks for the great pics. Ella is a treasure.
Congrats on that extra # down, way to go.

(still waiting on Ginny's Pooch Pics...and hopefully of her too)

ZIP, twenty-three down for the year, outstanding.

Get a heavy-duty bumbershoot, and GO next time

To prove my other kid (the cop) has a sense of humor, here's what he E-mailed me:

WHO SAYS THAT COPS DON'T HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR?

"Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch out after you wear them awhile."

Take your hands off the car, and I'll make your birth certificate a worthless document."

"If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."

"Can you run faster than 1,200 feet per second? In case you didn't know, that is the average speed of a 9 mm bullet fired from my gun."

"So you don't know how fast you were going. I guess that means I can write anything I want on the ticket, huh?"

"Yes, Sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh ... did I mention that I am the shift supervisor?"

"Warning! You want a warning? O.K., I'm warning you not to do that again or I'll give you another ticket."

"The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?"

"Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy, and step in monkey poop."

"Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."

"In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC."

"Just how big were those two beers?"

"No sir we don't have quotas anymore. We used to have quotas but now we're allowed to write as many tickets as we want."

"I'm glad to hear the Chief of Police is a good personal friend of yours. At least you know someone who can post your bail."

"You didn't think we give pretty women tickets? You're right, we don't. Sign here."

..................................

For those of you who like ol' cars, I posted a few pics...got TONS of snaps today, but not all added yet:

Loretta,

for you and DH.

Aww SuSun, I could open the pic but couldn't see them well enough as they were so big. I just hope you can figure out how to make them smaller so I can view them.

The Bichon Bash was a huge success for our first attempt. Over $800.00 raised for the Small Paws Rescue. Even had a big surprise when in pops the President and Sec. of the National Small Paws rescue from Tulsa. We all about dropped over. I'm totally exhausted. You've never seen anything until you see 60 Bichons all running around.... We were warned that the next year we should about double the fluffs. Oh my!! I was so busy coordinating, I didn't get many pics but maybe later in the week I'll post some.
Tomorrow we are going to Seattle to our sons. Big ole BBQ with all his partners family from Indiana. About 12 of us.... So another big day.

Sure hope Loretta's DH is doing ok.

Haven't had much time to catch up so wishing you all well and will try and get here tomorrow night.

OMG Shawnee, I LOVE the RED Chevy and the one with the rumble seat. You must have had a wonderful time at that old car show. My dad had a car with a rumble seat when I was a little kid, and I remember it fondly.

Love your DS's cop's humor. They have an awful job but have some of the best sense of humor I've ever seen.

Thanks for the compliments on my grand brats. I kind of like those little ones.

Susan, congrats on that one lb down. You sure have been busy earning it.

Hopefully the MON thru Fri. crews will get to work and get the power and phones back on for the Floridians.

Julie, That Bishon show must have been so very much fun. I would give my eye teeth to have been there. We are all awaiting pictures of those lovely fur babies. What a wonderful thing for the Small Paws Rescue society. Way to go girl!

Night all.
