Thursday for MVM--Aug 12

Hey gang,

Just a quickie to start this off...

Cool here today, only in the 70's for highs. Strange, but I'll take it! All is well in this part of the country. Still waking up, caffeine to kick in shortly.

Hope all are content!

Hi Ginny,

I caught my date screw up too late to change the title, so in penance I'll append my original and Julie's Reply so that we are all on your page...MEA CULPA!:

Zip's Post from 7:59 A.M.:
THURSDAY (DOH!) for the MVM
Hi everyone,

We got HAMMERED all evening with a steady stream of thunderboomers and heavy rains (the plantings needed it...maroooons down here don't know to handle a sprinkler system. They have those COMPLICATED on-off switches )

More on and off showers for the next couple days and probably remnants of Bonnie and CLYDE (Charlie.)

Loretta,
I'm sure that hamatoma is nothing...they just forgot to cauterize that blood vessel they cut. I hope there's nothing to that brain lesion. Tell us about the CPM test? I'm in the dark.

Julie,
How beautiful your green bloomer is! How about a NAME? JOLLY?

Linda,
Funny how when not working, a task like packing can get dragged out to a month, isn't it....and then we STILL forget to pack something. I hope there are no wildfires for you to deal with this year.

Susun,
Are they requiring passports to travel from U.S. and Canada and back again? They never DID but my doorman said they have been since 9/11/01.

Jackie,
That was a great joke about that trapeze artist of a chicken and that stallion with the BIG smile!

Ginny (and Loretta), better brace for some weather...the two big storms might push JUST far enough West to cause you some flooding.

Shawnee,
Oh it's SOOO nice when an incessant babbler FINALLY gets out of earshot...like a cold compress put on our aching over-smiled faces. Silence IS Golden!

Barb,
Good Luck with today's meeting.

Love

Started: Sept. 2002 Morning Roger and all who follow....

I think since it's a Dendrobium, how about Dolly???? Yeah, I like that. So Dolly it is.
I hope those hurricanes wear themselves out by the time they get up to your neck of the woods. Take care and safe.

Today, I NEED to get those doggie cookies made. Can't put it off any longer. Best get out there and get started as I'll get up to mid 80's and hate to turn that oven on in the heat of the day.
Going to lunch for my birthday today. LOL Boy, these lunches get strung out and just reminds me of my age. Oh well, we all do it. LOL Also need to hit the party store. I need a costume for the bichon party...nothing like waiting until the last moment. Any good idea's??

Loretta, for DH.

My Gaydar picked up on it the first time I saw him.
I think he shouldda FOUGHT LIKE HELL...but there's more to it.
(Talking about our adorable Governor, James McGreevey...the best NJ ever had <wiping a tear.>)

I just wrote him:

Quote:
Governor (Jim,)

I sympathisze with the difficulty you had to go through in "coming out." It is/was difficult for each and every one of us gay men and women in this puritannical country.

Congratulations on finding your way.
Let me state with humility that my GAYDAR was good enough to pick up on it during the election<wink> but you didn't need any additional qualifications to get my vote, your political positions were, are, and, I'm sure, will be STELLAR.

I know how difficult it would be but I am casting one vote for you to remain in office, rescind your intent to resign, and then run for re-election.

We gays in NJ will get you over the top.

God Bless You Sir.

Yours truly,

(name withheld)

Hi everybody,

Ginny, Push that cool front north will ya? It's so darn muggy here.
Hope your evening shift goes well.
How are you doing on E Bay?

Roger, LOL I never know what day it is either, even when I'm looking at a calendar.

I've learned to pack very light when we travel. It's just deciding what to take to those mountains. It can be 90 during the day and in the 20's at night. I can manage to get all my stuff in one small 19" suitcase and a small overnight bag even for a cross country trip of 4 or so weeks.

Why on earth would McGreevey resign? Hopefully nothing criminal will come out. Most Politicians are NOT trustworthy at all. on your letter.

Julie, I LOVE that beautiful orchid. So what did you name her?

Shawnee, so tell us about your gabby guests.

Oops the phone is ringing...back later

Evening folks....

Been too busy trying to be diplomatic with some "d..k heads" in admin. to get here today. Our mtg. is postponed until next Wed. at 9 am. If the earth starts to tremble at that time.........
thanks for the prayer, Loretta, I could feel the heavens opening and I shut my mouth on several ocassions. LOL

Hope everything went ok with you -- Loretta!

I saw on the news that your Gov. was involved in an extra marital affair with another man and violated his marriage vows and therefore resigned. That's what the story was on ABC news.

Linda, I also pack very light when traveling (all summer - just about) and lived out of the suitcase. Not bad for awhile but does get tiring. I'm also extremely good with a cooler. Major fires in almost all western states - so they said on TV except Montana , WY and CO. Our CO fire-fighters were leaving to go help out in CA.

Can I come to the doggie show with a black lab if I have a costume?? Can you rent a Bichon ?? How about one of those invisible ones on the end of the leash??

Pretty pic of the orchid -- one I would have no problem killing in a short amount of time!!

Take care.....

Hi again,

Roger, I watched the news and saw the speech by your gov. How sad that he felt the need to resign just because of his " affair". Hell, how many others have done the same thing and just keep on doing their jobs.

Hi Barb,

LOL Aren't all administrators D!ck heads? Sorry the meeting got postponed. Bet you wanted it over and done with.

LMAO I can just imagine a Bishon Costume for your Lab.

You asked yesterday if NYS gave out pistol permits. Yes they do,but one must jump through hoops to get one. It takes about 6 to 9 months to be approved and that is after extensive State and Federal background checks and an extensive mental health check.

Back to my book.

Sure you can come, just find a costume resembling a black lab and you'll be in like Flynn!!!!!!!!
Today I went to Value Village, our local "used" store, and found an infant baseball Jersey and a cute ball cap. Bo looks stupid and not sure he'll keep the cap on but we'll try. I had to put the shirt on backwards or you couldn't see the emblem. After his bath tomorrow, he'll be 5 shades whiter.

Hi Guys!

I am feeling on top of the world! cuz, DD discovered "the pacifyer" and little Ella is not fussy now in the evenings, Yipppeeee! We actually got to the Mall today and DD used the BF room, she spent another $100.00 on clothes for Ella, not that she needed anymore! I am just doing the day shift these days, so my sleep has improved greatly. Thank you for asking Julie.
The shifts are long but still FUN!

Julie,
Bo looks so cute, he is adorable and will be even more so after his bath, so soft and white.
I cuddle more with Oliver after his bath, his fur is so soft and silky.
He is enjoying his walkies over at DD, she is on 2 acres and I walk him up the street too, lots of new smells to discover!

Roger,
Yes, they are asking for passports since 9/ll.
Loved your letter of encouragement to your Govenor.

Barb,
Whew! That is a tough one, trying to be diplomatic with those Admin folks! Good for YOU!

Linda,
Barb says Montanna is not burning. Are you not going there? Sounds so efficient your packing light!

Ginny,
Glad you are enjoying the cool temps.

Loretta,
YOU are in my thoughts and prayers!

Shawnee,
DH has been down visiting DS for 10 days, doing some painting for him. He returns on Saturday if the prevailing winds let up! So DH has not missed me and I have been busy with DD I have not missed him but I am looking forward to his return this weekend.
I know you were not worred about him missing me but more about Sassy and Oliver. They did have to take the back seat for the first 2 weeks but then we were able to give them longer walkies and the TLC that they deserve. DD said that Sassy is and will always be her first baby, they went through some tough times together.
Hope that Hurricane is not too severe on the East Coast!

Wavin to y'all, off to bed, early start tomorrow to the Baby Clinic for a weigh in....the baby...not me! LOL!

BTW, those 3lbs that I gained in the early weeks, have melted into thin air. I so love this WOL! I have been more active too of late.

SuSUN!

Hi Y'all

Loretta said she was prepared to stay the night with DH at hospital, if necessary...and if she didn't post, that's probably where they would be.

and for ya Loretta, we've got the positive thoughts flowing

Ginny, hope that caffeine kicked in before ya went to work
BTW, I seem to recall you mentioned getting gussied up for a photo shoot...*hint* (you know how nosey and impatient [plus pic-greedy] we are!)

Julie, heheee...Bo looks adorable in that outfit (but I can't believe its not a Mariners !!)
I named one of my orkids Dolly Parton cause she was so gaudy and flashy/trashy...musta pi$$ed her off, and now she won't bloom.

I'll pay money to see Barb in a black lab suit!!! ...or was that Barb's black lab in a costume?

Barb, have you been holding out on us..(you have a lab ??)...and if so, does he/she travel with ya??

SuSUN, Congrats on getting back to SkinnyLand I've heard Pros and Cons re the pacifier for 40 years...my kids had 'em...didn't affect them or their "bite" or create any other negative habits. Babies like to suck...period.
Don't know that I should take the credit for the blueberry-yoggie thing...we were all on a roll about yoggie and adding goodies to it. But glad its such a keeper for you. So glad your DH and Son had time together, and you will have a fun reunion...
Awwwww....I sure understand your DD loving Sassy for helping her thru the hard times. ShawnPup was there for me too.

Montana, can ya still find "Days of the Week" panties in the lil Girls' undies section? There ya go, a whole week's worth, all labeled...perfect for packing...(ducking, running for cover)

Relatives of a friend are moving to White Fish...from Vegas! Now, there's a life-changing event, huh?

My visitors: morning one was a Cherokee/French Canuck/German friend of 30 years...(Sitting Bull type to Zip)
When her family has pushed her to the edge, she comes here to talk about the "old ways" and sometimes we smudge. I give her herbs. If I'm not home, she wanders about the yard, and sits by the lil pond til she's recharged. I can tell when she's been here, there's always a gift on the back porch.

Afternoon visitor: Have to pay attention to him, he's a cop!

...and he's our ''other" kid we kinda inherited about 25ish years back. His Mom was a close friend...and part Cherokee, of course.
But for all these years, since he was 15...I still tell him, "Cut the crap, and listen up!" ....he introduces me to his friends as "my other Mom"...
he's never boring, but so intense re conversations...I'm forced to take many pee breaks to regroup my thoughts.

Zip, I made a version of the Cucumber and Onion Raita...YUM!
One recipe called for Garam Masala, which has our beloved Cardamom in it...so I also included Fennel seeds, simply cause it goes well with cardamom.
Wow, while I was ulu-ing up the mint, fennel seeds, and garlic, the aroma was to die for! (remember how thrilled I was to get the ulu and cutting bowl?)...Anyhoo, it was fantastic. Thanks.

Great line: ..like a cold compress put on our aching over-smiled faces.

Hmmmm, I'm wondering if the CA- passport requirement is for ALL of Canada's entries...or...just some.
DGBrat went up to Victoria Tuesday, I know she does have one from her trip to France...but check this out, its current:
(scroll down a bit)

http://www.victoriaclipper.com/know_...go#citizenship

Jacki...Bob said he saw you in your yard without your waterhose !
Are you feeling ok?

How's the last chair project going?

To all, have a good night.

Shawnee
