WEDNESDAY for MVM
Not long on the computer this morning. I got a call at 5:00PM that they'd be replacing my foyer (cheap wood parquet glued to concrete)...REMEMBER THAT LEAK LAST NOVEMBER?
Probably arrive at the crack of 9:00AM so we have to haul crap out of that area...table chairs...FREEZER(FULL) PANTRY (OY)! The anticipation of the aggravation ruined by night's sleep. I HATE to have anyone work on MY STUFF ...can't bear DENTISITS, NEVER had anyone but me touch any of my cars...and I learned to cut my own hair in 1965 (well, very little cutting in the '60's.) Here's the final word if you need a passport renewal soon: Passport good for 10 years. Renewal Fee $55 (by mail) At Post Office or Passport Office: ADD $35 Expedited Service: ADD $60 We've opted to send Certified ($2.30) with RETURN RECEIPT ($1.75) in addition to the $.60 for First Class Mail. Total: $59.65. For a good daily newspapert the International Herald Tribune is a good saver...found a copy in the trash yesterday...Impressive. Online no hassle: www.iht.com Give a peak. I'll get back after the dust settles and the floor is DONE (looks like a 3 hour job...the guy does NOTHING ELSE every working day of his life...no spikee Ingris!)...LATER!

Hey gang,
Quiet morning around here for us. Not a whole lot going on, but the temps are cooler, so another jeans day for me at work Strange weather for us this time of year, but I'll take 80 instead of 100!Zip, hope the flooring replacement goes smoothly! Stuff like that is always a mess/pain, but it will be much better when it's done. Off to lurk for a bit...y'all have a great day! |

Good morning Zip and Ginny
Glad you are getting that new floor Zip it will be worth the extra effort of moving your stuff. Hope it does not take all day. I checked out the International Herald News and it looks like a neat sheet. Guess that is the going price for a passport. Ginny we have that nice cool stuff here too. What a treat. So nice for walking and looking at our beautiful local weeds. I don't know the names of all of them, but some sure are pretty and colorful, yellows, lilacs and occasional red spray of leaves. Going to see internist this afternoon with DH. HIs dang pacer insertion site is still oozing blood occasionally. It should not be doing that. Later folks, Loretta |

Hi Loretta, Ginny,
Well, they screwed up the floor scheduling so they are NOT coming today. At least I figured it out early and we walked to the main post office (about 3/4 mile and sent off the Passports.) A hot sunny morning turned to UGLY by 2:00 PM...look like a WICKED storm coming VERY soon...Weather Channel has us under a Warning. LOL, Two hurricanes coming...Bonnie and Charlie (Bonnie Prince Charlie is cute) but BONNIE AND CLYDE would have been KEWL beyond belief (Guess that's why the book THE WIT OF THE WEATHERMAN has yet to be written.) SKY JET BLACK NOW! |

Hi all. Another quiet day at home. Worked on projects.
Nothing new to say so I'll share a funny. (adult) Living on the Farm On the farm lived a chicken and a horse, both of whom loved to play together. One day the two were playing, when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink. Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help! Off the chicken ran, back to the farm. Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for he had gone to town with the only tractor. Running around, the chicken spied the farmer's new Harley. Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend's life. Back at the bog, the horse was surprised, but happy, to see the chicken arrive on the shiny Harley, and he managed to get a hold of the loop of rope the chicken tossed to him. After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer's bike, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful bike, rescued the horse! Happy and proud, the chicken rode the Harley back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned. The friendship between the two animals was cemented: Best Buddies, Best Pals. A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life! The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle. Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his hangy-down thing and he would then lift him out of the pit. The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life. The moral of the story? (Yes, there's a moral!) "When you're Hung like a Horse, You Don't Need a Harley to Pick up Chicks!" ![]() Ooooo, I hope I don't get in trouble from posting this. OOOoooo Last edited by JackiCWa : 08-11-2004 at 03:29 PM. |

OMG Jackie, that is funny!!
Thanks I needed that. Roger, Geezzzz that's too bad that they couldn't get the floor done today. What a PITA. You and Bob must be really upset. At least you got the passports. If memory serves me, I think we paid about $95 to get ours done. LOL that is still less than my pistol permit. Gee Loretta, what's up with that bleeding? Hopefully the doctor will give you some good news. Bet it's the blood thinners. Hi Ginny, Yes the weather is certainly strange all over the country this year. Hopefully the remnants of those hurricanes don't do too much damage in your and Loretta's area. Not much going on around here either. I've just been busy doing nothing and enjoying every minute of it. Guess I need to get serious about our trip. It's less than a month away. Oh well at least I have reservations for Missoula and just e mailed a motel on the Blackfoot reservation for rates and availability. Guess I need to check on West Yellowstone. Waving to Julie, Shawnee, Susan, Barb and everyone. |

Oh Jacki, that was way too cute -- I must take that one to work!!
Loretta, I hope everything works out with doc and stuff -- it's such a worry, isn't it? Linda, can I adopt that saying of yours for my very own? -- I'm doing nothing and enjoying every minute of it!! Does NYS give out pistol permits? Ross and I teach the NRA classes (one this weekend) for getting that permit in CO and we are probably not as expensive as you. I do know that NYS is pretty "picky" about who they issue permits to -- Well, I have a mtg. with the top brass tomorrow morning and say a prayer for me that I hold my tongue -- I have a tendency to put a bit of sarcasism into my speech!! What's going on with you all -- Julie, Shawnee, Susan, Ginny????

Barb a
is on the way. We could use some too.DH evidently has a hematoma under that pacer. We have to go back tomorrow to see the heart doc and most likely be having surgery to drain the blood clot. I'll pack my bag. Our appointment is in the afternoon. Other news was not good from internist. The lesion in the skull is suspicious and blood tests CPM or CMP is way elevated. Internists suggests follow up with onocologist. Dh would rather not so we will just watch it. We will see him again in 3 mos with more blood work. Great joke Jackie, I needed a laugh. Thanks. Loretta |

a prayer is right back at ya Loretta -- yes, it does as if you need one! Many times loved ones know what is happening and don't want others to know -- should you follow up with the onocologist now?Where are you going -- Evansville or Paducah? My thoughts are with you. |

Whatsup!
Roger, glad you are getting a passport. I think it is like getting a drivers licence or something, Something that we all need. I know the prices are stiff. DH hates the prices every time we renew ours. WE had a terrific downpour yesterday up here and tons of thunderbumpers, Olvier was so scared he was off his food all day and night. Ginny, Wow you wear jeans in 80 degree weather. We wear shorts and tees this far north. 80 is hot for us! LOL! I betcha loved Jacki's joke! LOL! LOL! Jacki I needed that too! Glad you can kick back and enjoy the rest of the summer months off.Lovely pics Julie, hope all is going well with you. Belated Happy Anniversary! I am slower than usual these days!LOL! Loretta, postive thoughts are with you and your DH! Many prayers going up for you both! Barb, hope you can hold onto your thoughts long enough, so they dont blurt out. I have that tendency too! Linda, Ya do have some neat sayings! That's another keeper! "I've just been busy doing nothing and enjoying every minute of it." Sounds wonderful to be calling hotels to see the availability. Shawnee, I want to thank you for the blueberrries and yoghurt combo. I think it was your suggestions way back. It has been a keeper for me this summer. I was not the greatest yoghurt lover, till I kept trying, then I got the acquired taste buds excited. Need to catch some sleep, the little one is so demanding at this stage, but still LOVIN every minute of it. SuSUN ![]() |
