MVM RUBY TUESDAY
Hi gang,
I was just jokin' about "Native Americans can't make curry" in reply to the "Native American or Indian Indian" question. I must have MISSED something because WHAT gets cooked when young and tender (or is that another W.C.Fields reference to cooking children?? ![]() ) I was thinking of the movie WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP and riffing off it.A good comparison on the Daily Show last night...one of the characters was assembling an ethnic mix to put in front of the convention cameras. A woman said INDIAN, and the questioner said "Ghandi or Sitting Bull?" I SCREAMED with laughter Ginny, Did that PictureIt come with your Dell or did you buy it separately ($54 was a price I saw?) People seem to like it. I tried a freebie PhotoShop2 Starter Version (free download from Adobe)...the price was what it was worth. So I installed PhotoDeluxe 3.0 that came with my scanner...it's pretty cool and I understand it. I;ll think about the PHOTOSHOP 6.0 that's stiill in the box...a MONSTER of a professional program. Cute tool on the PD3 is a blotch coverer. You can blow up the picture to POSTER size and take one teeny bit of the RIGHT color from anywhere and copy it over any imperfection...a good eye and you can erase a wrinkle that looks like the Grand CANYON on the huge blowup. Passport pics are good enough without editing and we will toddle off to a nearby Post Office (Passport Window) tomorrow. All the online hooplah says do it by mail but we are frightened of sending the current ones in and having them STOLEN or lost. I hope a RENEWAL is still possible in person ($55 for 10 years) in SPITE of the cryptic instructions on the .gov website implying that you HAVE to mail it. Loretta, We're planning to emigrate (along with several friends) if the Fascisti steal another election...First stop Cornwall, Ontario...Bob is familiar with it from his childhood in Massena N.Y. Seems a CHEAP place to live and a hop skip and jump to Montreal (culture) as well a hop back across the St.Lawrence to NY for any medical care(Medicare) if we aren't covered by Canada as resident aliens (Permanent Resident might be the term?) Even if we stay, Our PP are expiring in the Fall and MUST be renewed if we EVER want to travel. Gym today...Bob working (I think off the REST of the week) Vicki on vacation next week so we'll do something with her and her CAR! We're still HOT (10 degrees higher than you, Linda- both high and low)...air conditioners needed. Linda, I hope all your camera woes are fixed with the new battery (lithium hydride I hope?) I tried marinera sauce #2 and it was VERY good, thak you...but I cheated and tossed some SHRIMP in it..."one SMALL step for mankind...next time- VEGETARIAN") Something I learned by myself owning a camera: ANYTHING over 2.0 MegaPixels is a waste of money unless you print lots of 8 x 10's. For internet use and 4 x 6 prints, even the 2.0 has to be continuously truncated to be of use. And Lithium Metal Hydride batteries are the ONLY way to fly! Imagine sending someone a 4.0 megapixel in an e-mail! They'd SHOOT you! Good Optical zoom is #1, and convenient dial and easy reading the LCD on the back is really important (#2.) A good day to you all. (Susun, how do I get a Canadian income tax guide- do you think if I wrote to Ottowa or Montreal, they'd send me a "Guide to the Canadian 1040? ![]() ![]() )

Good morning,
I see that Susan also started a Tuesday thread. Just wanted to congratulate her on losing those pesky lbs. Have fun "exercising" with the baby. Shawnee, Burk is BEAUTIFUL!! Boy when he is older, he's going to be PO'd about the peeing picture. 50 lbs, eh? That's a big boy. Dakota, will be a year old this month and weighs about 80 lbs but I think Golden's are generally heavier and taller than Pit's. Your yard is lovely despite the lack of rain. Your grass looks like ours usually does this time of year, but because of all the rain, we are blessed with a fast growing, lovely green carpet. Roger, Yup that was another reference to W.C. Fields Speaking of scanners, did you ever get your HP 3820 installed? You will be delighted to learn that the ink cartridge last a good long time, even after it notifies you to replace it. Yes, MH batteries, 2.0 megapixil Kodak cx4200. All this amateur photographer needs. You should try some good Italian sausage in that sauce or meat balls. Yummm. Can't help with the photo business because we have just what came with this Dell and camera, and I haven't even scratched the surface of the programs yet. I'm off to let Dakota pup out for his afternoon walk. More later. |

Hey all,
Not much new today, except my cousin and family is on their way here with some of their stuff (moving time!). They don't lack much having their place set up and liveable. Zip, we bought the PictureIt when we got our Compaq. I think it was aroun $50 at that time too. Definitely a great program! Shawnee, awwwww that Burke pup sure has grown up. Love the closeup shot--he really favors our Tyke who we think has some Pit in her. Linda, 80 lbs of puppy is about the right size All the love you could ask for!Loretta, our grass is growing well too with the rain we've had this summer. DH has to mow and weedeat again today. He finally got the pasture bushhogged last week, courtesy of a new starter on the tractor (no more pull-starting it! WOOHOO!!). Susan, enjoy your time in the 'salt mines'...we know you're lovin' it! Jacki, so are you watering more than Shawnee or ? Your a/c unit sounds like it more than handles the heat...ENJOY! We've only run ours a couple times this year, we've had a cooler than normal summer. Go figure! Barb, hope all is going well. Enjoy these last days off! L8r,

Hi Y'all
I'm Thread-hopping, just posted to SuSUN and Loretta on the other one. Official high of 101° here yesterday...today we expect just nineties... ZIP, you can stop hiding your scalp, its safe...yeah, it was all in jest, re ol' WC. GAWD, loved that Ghandi or Sitting Bull remark...gonna mentally file that one away. The Sitting Bull varieties are known for their wild senses of humor, mostly self-deprecating. If we couldn't laugh, then we'd all go insane --Jimmy Buffet (non-Indian of any variety) ![]() So Canada is lookin' good, huh? Move over, SuSUN. Montana...yeah, when Burk is a mature two years old, I'll embarrass him with his "caught in the act" piccie . ( I've done it to my kids and GBrats...SWEET REVENGE ) Goldens are so beautiful, and (to me) kinda like a Lab with long hair....just the right size to huggle with. Glad ya have Dakota to get your "Pup fix" with. Ginny, you sure are keeping DH busy...no wonder he's nice and skinny ![]() Been too long since we've seen updates on your FurBalls. Talk about Group Hugs, they're always available at your house. Burk is a sweetie, but wiggles too much...hard to get a serious HUG in on him, unless he's sleepy. He's a kiss and run kinda guy. Glad to hear the relatives are making good progress. What's on the Critter List with them? Jacki has grown a new appendage from her right hand: a water hose. Doesn't matter what time I pass her house, that hose hand is poised over her gardens. ( I think its Therapy for her) ...and her flowers show their appreciation by bloomin' their fool heads off.Loretta, Jacki is a great cook, inventing as she goes. To all, have a content day.
