VM...Wed. Aug 4
Good morning everyone, guess I'm the first one up, so I'll get this started.
I'm on my second cup of java and need lots more because it was another night of only 4 hrs. sleep. UGH! Oh well, maybe tonight will be better. I'll be stuffing myself full of lobster, crab and shrimp from the Red Lobster. It's a low carber's dream. Mr. Bear has been hanging around our woods ( DH ran into him last evening) and got into my brother's garbage can the other night. It's disturbing that he isn't afraid of people. God I can't think or type yet. ![]() Later. |

Geez Linda, bears again??? Will the human society help to run him out? Or wildlife protection?
What is going on with you and no sleep? Thats usually my problem but I've been sleeping well this last week. DD has pretty much disowned me now so that part of my life is over. I'm grieving but hit an AA meeting last night and am starting counseling next week. I'll get through this. Nick is doing fine. This morning has to go see his probation officer and then on to work and group therapy at 6:00 so no time to even think of drugs. Had to go in for 3 UI's this week. Just went to Red Lobster yesterday for lunch. Had the best chicken, apple, walnut, blu cheese, roasted tomato salad with balsamic vinigarette. Oh my God it was out of this world but enough for 3 people. Enjoy! So why I didn't get seafood is beyond me. I saw this and sounded wonderful and it was. Good to hear from SuSun. Shawnee, you look absolutely terrific. Hi to Ginny, Loretta, Roger and Gerard!

Mornin' all,
Gonna have a long one tonight. Got an early heads-up that our 3rd shift guy will not be in, so I'll have to stay and load out morning trucks. Ugh. First cup of caffeine is going down good, but hasn't hit the brain cells yet. Hope all have a great day! |

Good morning to the West Coast and Good Afternoon to the East Coast!!
I am having so much trouble sleeping since I went off HRT a few months back. I was looking at the dangers, etc. and decided to do this and NOW I'm paying for it.
Sometimes I'm awake for "hours" during the middle of the night and then fall asleep in the morning. When I start back at work, I see a little bit of a problem!! Any suggestions? Jacki, so happy to hear that someone in the logging industry has a job. My DH's family came from loggers and don't really appreciate the Spotted Owl -- too much!! When we were in Oregon we hardly saw a logging truck on the road where used to be so many. Susan, so good to hear from you -- sounds really busy. Julie, sounds like you are busy also with DGS!! You are quite the jewel to be taking over for him!! What happened with DD? You sound a tad depressed over this - but am glad you are getting some help.Linda, bears - still!! Maybe it should just become a pet!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and pig out on that seafood!! Who in the world was that beauty in that picture from yesterday's post? Did they go and do Mrs. America contest again?? Ginny, they have no call-in's when someone is out? So, it's double-up time? Take care. Loretta, I was posting at the same time on GB, but...... whatever happened with dropping the HRT? I did also and am having sleeping problems. I wonder if I did it too fast. Have a good low carb day and Gerald and Zip , the best man will win!! ![]()

Ginny, sorry you have to do that double shift. Those are the pitts especially if you have to work the next day. Hope it goes well.
Barb, if you read the study on HRT, you will see that the risk increase is only 3%. Both my GYN and I read it and felt that the minimal increased risk is worth it. They will have to pry my estrogen patch from my cold dead fingers. Julie, It does my heart good to see another community become enlightened and FAIR. WAY TO GO SEATTLE Just got back from our sea food pig out, and boy was it good. I had a broiled platter which included scallops, scampi and a lobster tail with a side of steamed broccoli and a huge salad. Time for a NAP! Cold front is moving through and we are getting a lot more rain. UGH. July was the wettest one on record. Waving to Shawnee, Loretta, Susan, Roger and Jackie. |

HI
Finally getting around to post here today. Been working on UK pillows for a craft show. Have lots to do on them yet. Barb I gradually got off of the hrt. I do have sweats at night but had them even when I was on HRT. I wake up frequently during the night, look at the clock and go back to sleep in a short while. Other than that I don't have many changes without the hrt. Ginny hope your shifts pass by without problems and you are back home quickly. Glad you enjoyed that "fish" pig out Linda. Happy Anniversary again. Shawnee thanks for that photo of yourself, so thin and happy looking. You sure are one slender gal. Are you still going to Curves? How are all of the grand pups? Julie you are in my Too bad about you and DD. Sometimes you have to make some hard decisions in life. I sure hope there is a chance for reconcilation there for the both of you.I have only sons and never had a DD. I sure don't have a clue as to what that might be like. Got Dh out for a short ride to town to get his hair cut. He is on the mend but sleeping on and off during the day. No pain or distress otherwise. Later folks L retta |

Hello again Gang!
Had a long shift agin today, 9a.m. till 9p.m. DD's DH had to work late tonight big board meeting tomorrow and they had to prepare, so I stayed until he got home. Seems the baby has turned a corner, she was quite good today, allowing DD some time to herself, at least a bit on the eliptical and some housework. She has been so demanding of time, feeding every 2-3 hours and fully awake for an hour inbetween. BF is getting fully established now, so we think thats why she is settling into a routine. Yes, I am still enjoying Grandma-hood! WOW! WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS PIC OF SHAWNEE! Now that's enough of a jolt to get me back on track. I did slip here and there and I am up 3lbs. I know I will get it off soon! Your pic is an inspiration to all of us. Wavin to Y'all! SuSUN |

Hi everyone.
I'm on hrt too and I also get night sweats...and I seem to take my sleep in cycles. I'll have a time of good night sleeping then a spell of bad sleep. Not much you can do but go ahead and get up. No sense in fighting it...just stresses you all the more. When I'm in a bad sleep spell I go to Wallyworld and get that Equate brand night time sleep aid. $1.30 and it doesn't make you feel groggy the next day...if you don't wait till too late to take it. Non addictive too. Shawnee is a sweet little petite gal. Don't know whether to hug her or slug her--- Awwww, I'd never slug her. She's my pal. That is a good pic of her. She worked hard to get that cute figger. Julie, give your daughter time.....somewhere along the way she'll come back to you. LOL @ Montana...I agree, I don't want to quit my hormones either. I want some of that seafood too! Sounds goooooood. Barb.....the logging industry it going gung ho up here. My hubby also is the truck supervisor for the company and he says they are so booked for jobs that some of them have to wait months before the company can get to them. Log trucks everywhere here. Still, not as many as back in the seventies. The industry has changed a lot. Orchid, I hope your long day went well. Rest well. Zip, Where are you? Today I worked in the yard again. Had 4 eyesores of old raised beds to destroy. I haven't used them in about 3 years and the soil was so dry and hard. Had to take the tiller to 3 of them to get them down flat. The 4th I had to do by shovel because it was too close to other shrubs. Also had to dig out a lavendar plant that was overgrown with grass. Cut it back, separated it into several plants and planted two of them out front. Then I had some other plants that were sent to me I had to pot up. I've finally started on those wroght iron chairs I'm making planters out of. One is almost done--sans plants. I tiled the back today, sprayed the metal frame yesterday. Waiting for the grout to dry so I can seal it. I'll take some pics when I"m through---before and after. Our dryer element went out.....thankfully it was just a safety fuse so we got the parts, (can you believe actually stocked in the repair shop!!) and Roy fixed it! He's mighty handy to have around. My hero doesn't need to slay dragons, just fix my appliances. I hope all is well and I wish you all a good night's sleep. |

Susan! you posted while I was typing. Didn't see you. I'm glad that Ella is settling down. That's such a time of adjustment for everyone when a newborn comes into the house. And the newborn is in charge.

Hi Y'all
Today, we had a lil rain all around us, but jut a misty scattering in my neighborhood...I ran outside to soak up my share, but there wasn't even enough to speckle my glasses. Two months of non-rain...need to swap weather with Montana, she's had too much. However, been thinking today how lucky I am...been giving away plums, flowers, LC stuff, etc to friends..., friends give us veggies, flowers, LC stuff, etc..and friendship . ...its a Good Thing Great that we can grow or have access to fresh produce. Bob picked some Blackberries in the pasture today; Cobbler will be tonight's after-hours project.Had Tacos for dinner...those LC tortillas aren't bad. Montana, Happy Anniversary to you and Gerard. Your Seafood Dinner sounds scrumptious, double-yum.I slowly weaned myself off HRT several years back, trying to get off everything but the darn Thyroid meds. THANKS, all y'all...for the nice comments re my pic. I'm packing at least 10 lbs of extra blubber I don't need, but I'm satisfied with myself...and would rather eat LC Cobbler than try to be skinny. ( I tried "sorta-skinny" ...YIKES!...it gives me Refuge Face!) Loretta, so glad ya got DH out of the house for awhile...its good for the both of ya. I had a DUH (well, now the kids say "D`oh!" ) moment over UK...United Kingdom???? LOL...til I remembered that Cookie is in KY. Curves membership ran out, so just "free slave labor" in the yard for now. Pups are well. How's Leah and Brittany doing? Aw, Ginny...sorry ya got such a long shift. Hard to be alert at the end of it too. You know, we are all so proud that your Ebay business is doing so well...like doting Aunts and Uncles. ...and proud of y'all too for the Pup Rescue the other day.Barb ...Mrs America ? ...but bless your heart anyway. ![]() suggestion: auto-hypnosis or relaxation tape, meditation for beating the Sheep-counting Blues. Julie....sincerely, I do so hope that eventually you and DD will find a common ground for re-establishing a relationship...perhaps the mom/daughter one isn't workable for y'all, but adult to adult could be possible. Hope ya have a good rapport with the councelor. Zip, where are you hiding out today? How's Bob doing re the tooth infection? SuSUN, we miss your upbeat comments Gonna nominate ya for Gramma of the Year!!!Jacki, please, oh, please share some pics of your weird Lion's Tail and some of your other exotic plants...and oh, yes...the newly-svelte Star too; she's lookin' good! To all, be safe and content. Shawnee......................................... Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them. --Bill Vaughan |

Geez Shawnee, I am so sorry that I neglected to tell you how good you looked in that new picture. You are absolutely stunningly thin and good looking. What 10 lbs?? Gee gal, you look great, especially in RED.
LOL my hair does the same darn thing in the sun. Blackberries?? Oh God, I love those. We have some, but the bears like them so I don't go near them. I'll be more than happy to send this damned rain to you, via express mail. Jackie, you have my sympathy on the sleep cycles. I'm in my "no sleep mode" right now. What a PITA!! Can't wait to see pictures of your chair planters. Susan, OMG that is a LONG shift. So when is your "assignment" over? We old gals can't do that job very long. Loretta, It's good to hear that your DD is improving and well enough to get his ears lowered. UK pillows?? We want pictures, OK? Roger, what the heck are you up to? We miss you when you don't post. I'm sleep deprived and hope to get some quality sleep tonight. Night all. |
