VINTAGE MAINTAINERS Tuesday June29
Hi to all and a big
Home Linda. Thanks for the pictures yours and that site Shawnee posted. Good to see everyone there having a good time. How was that pig Linda? Not much to report from here in Ky. Just enjoying my pre company days. Hey I had a thought about the yoggie. I bet I could get it warm enough just setting it in my car with the windows rolled up and the car in the sun. I am getting antsy myself to try it out. l8ter folks |

Don't know about that yoggie theory Loretta
Let me know if you try it, ok? Enjoy the calm before the storm. Don't work too hard Orchid. Where's everyone else??? My granddaughter spent the night last night. We took photos this morning of the yard and flowers. Here's my favorite two flower shots: ![]() ![]() You don't get prettier flowers than that!!! ![]() |

Jacki, she is gorgeous. Thanks for the flowers!!!
Feel a little better today. Had a meeting of the minds last night and hopefull things will improve. I also got a hold of the Dr. today and he is putting me on Celexa for now. Anybody got any first hand experience with it? Went to the grocery store and only felt like crying once today. LOL I know I shouldn't joke about it but Sunday I had to leave the cart and groceries right in the aisle and leave the store....just because I couldn't find something. Hopefully the crying jags will lessen now. Sure hate to bring this out in the open but maybe you'll understand. Loretta, you sweetie you!!!! Thank you for the little gift.

Jackie she sure is a delicate flower. What a beauty? I'm guessing she is about 12 or so. Thanks for the pics.
Julie good to hear from you. I remember a time like that. Everytime I went to church I ended up crying. That was the big D time though. The stress of it all gets overpowering. Glad that you have gotten some different rx than the sleeping pills. I don't think that was the route to go myself. Loretta |

Hi everybody, Boy did we sleep last night. LOL We both got about 10 hrs and it felt wonderful!
Loretta, Gosh I feel for ya with all that company coming. Doesn't your DH get upset by all of it? Seems like living on a lake is getting to be a huge problem for both of you. LOL you could try making the yogurt in the car. Just be sure it doesn't get too hot in there or you will kill off the cultures. I just use a utility light and clip it to the oven rack. The pig was wonderful!! She called it pulled pork and had it in huge pans along with another pan of shredded beef. BBQ sauce was so simple but very, very good. It was a bottle of lc Catchup and two cans of diet rite cola cooked down a bit. I am going to make it but add in some chopped onion and see how it comes out. Jackie, OMG your DGD is LOVELY!! Thanks for sharing. Ginny, don't work too hard. Sorry we couldn't make the 4 hr drive over to see you but we were pooped and my asthma was acting up big time. We would love to visit the area in the fall when it's not too hot or crowded. Julie, Gosh hun, I can't imagine feeling so bad. Hopefully the new med will do the trick. Have you discussed HRT or something in case it's menopausal? I know I had severe mood swings before I went on the patch. Hi to Shawnee and thanks for posting that link to more pig roast pictures. Roger, where are you today? Susan, any signs of the baby yet? Barb, we are missing you and hope all is well. More later |

HI Gang!
I see WE are all present and correct! Seems everyone has checked in and WE have Montana back! We are so connected, if one of us gets kicked, we all limp! My last day at the Salt Mines tomorrow for 2 months hopefully. I have to complete some forms tomorrow at work, so I will check the implications, sure hope it doesnt alter my pay scale. Yep, I decided I was worth a bit of Luxury in my old age, to enjoy this special time with DD and DGD! Thanks for the pics of the Pig Roast Shawnee. I could not open your site Linda. Jacki, Your DGD is adorable and is the most eye-catching flower in the garden! She is a delicate petal! Julie, You are still in my thoughts and prayers. Glad you are getting some help. No I haven't heard of that Med, it must be new is it? One foot in front of the other to climb out of that dark place. Sending lots of hugs! Ginny, Me too off the ole salt mines, hopefully just for one more day. Did your DH ever consider a career as a photographer or artist? Do you have a local rag or large newspaper he could work for? Loretta, You have hosted your company so often that it must go like clockwork for you. My hats off to you for being so organized! Do you have any other Gbrats coming to visit? Show us the pics! Roger , where are you tonight? No sign of the Baby yet! Will keep ya informed! SuSUN! ![]() |

Hi Y'all
Another gorgeous day here, perfect for gardening...and sniffing roses. ...best of both worlds. The Chuckster had a grand time lurking under bushes, then attacking my ankles.Loretta, did ya make COOKIES a few days back? If so, what kind? ( I'm betting Peanut Butter!) I haven't made any in ages, and have the "need' for them. (make that "want"...I'd kill for one right now )Sorry, we all seem to have some "Me, me, me" folk in our families.. ...that GBrat should have called and volunteered to bring the kind of booze that would make Gramps happy. As you say, This too shall pass...and you'll be FREE to play mad Scientist with the Yoggie in the car...(maybe put a thermometer in it first, ya want it to be 100-125° , easily can get over that.I'm really enjoying this last batch...just 1 TBLS Vanilla DaVinci and 1 tsp Vanilla extract before the Incubation...perfect! Montana, loved seeing the pics of Pig Roast...sorry ya had to get the CRUD Asthma while there. Boy, that pulled pork sure sounds YUM. Our WA MegaBucks Lotto is $220 Million tonight...if Bob wins, we'll all have one hell of a Pig Roast..a Luau in HA! Ginny, when I adopted you, I never dreamed you'd inherit (by osmosis?) my need for bifocals by forty...or the "if I second-guess instead of using automatic pilot brain function, I screw up" syndrome... Well, count your Blessings, Gal..it coulda been worse: short legs and big butt too. ![]() Jacki, that Jess is a doll Yup, I know she's much younger, but does look 12. Prettiest Posy in your Patch! How's Ernestine and Star handling the neighborhood fireworks? They scare the heck out of Chuckster. ![]() Hey Zipster, you taking the day off? Hope its for fun stuff. ![]() Yes, SuSUN, you ARE worth a bit of Luxury...so go forth and enjoy it to the max....some things, money just can't buy. ![]() Julie, good that y'all are talking out things...my personal fav strategy. Hope those anti-depressants give ya some relief, not just Zombie ya out...and you can also resolve the issue(s) causing the depression...be it emotional, hormonal, glandular, whatever... ![]() Hi to the Lurkers ![]() Shawnee |

Here I am!! Just for a day..... leaving for Wy for July 4th. Then I'll be around for a week or so before our Oregon trip.
Have been in WI, MN, IL visiting mom and relatives!! We just got back from DH's conference he goes to every year for a week -- this year in Snowbird, Utah. I've never seen the ski resorts over there such as Park City, Deer Valley, etc. Very nice -- I know why they had the Olympics there!! I didn't take the laptop on purpose -- sometimes one just needs a vacation!! Greetings to all, haven't had time to readd all of the posts, etc. but am concerned about Julie -- hope you are doing better and you are in my thoughts!! ![]()

Hi Barb!!!!!!!! Now we are all back together.
Linda, sounds like a great pig roast. We buried a pig in our backyard one time and had a grand ole time while it roasted. Didn't have any Ti leaves, just used lettuce. Was scrumptous!! Just to let you know Linda, I'm well over the big M. Remember I'm almost 61 girl. No, it's just learning to have a teenager in the house. Dealing with his problems, getting the rules down and all the responsibility of it all. I guess it finally all got to me. He gave me sleeping pills to see if that would stabalize me, give me the rest I wasn't getting and then see how I would be. It didn't work so now hopefully have something that will. Funny, I already feel better just knowing I've gotten help. Went to a new dentist today too. Remember how much I hated the new denture they made for me a year ago??? Well, the new dentist is going to fix up my old one. He put a temp fix in it today and I feel like the old Julie is back. My new one was soooo fakey!!!! So that helped too. Warm and sunny, over 80 and that helped too. Jana, 14 DGD is here for the night. 2 teens in one house!!!!!!!!!!! SuSun, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all summer off. WTG girl!!!! Shawnee, haven't played a lotto ticket in over a year. I best go out and get one. LOL Jacki, she is so old looking for her young age. Such a looker, her momma better watch out for those boys!! LOL Loretta, thanks for telling me about your D. It helps to know, you aren't the only one who's crazy!! hehehe Love ya gal. Last edited by Jewels60 : 06-29-2004 at 10:35 PM. |

Julie, glad you are getting some much needed help with that stress. Yeah, I'm 61 but still on my patch. They will have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers because I'm afraid without it, I'll get back to my old ******y self.
Hope that new dentist will really help you. That must be such a pain. Keep us posted. Barb, my gosh you are traveling all over the country. Glad you are having a good time. LOL can't blame you for leaving the lap top home. It was nice to be without computer access for 6 days. This computer addiction is something isn't it? Shawnee, drool. PB cookies are now in my mind and it's too late to bake some. Darn it! Glad you are enjoying some nice weather. It's promised for this area over the next few days. Not that I believe that weather person but we shall see. Susan, YIPPIE!!! You are going to really enjoy those two months off. Hopefully that baby will arrive this week. Off to lurk mode. |

Another day at the salt mines completed
![]() Wow, Jacki, that little girl is a cutie! I reckon y'all are real proud of her! Julie, glad the Dr. gave you something that will help. Hope it doesn't make you groggy, I know I just hate that feeling (and I get it from cold meds!) Keep us posted on how you react to the meds, and we're here if you want to talk it out. Sometimes even writing things down (or keeping a journal) will help, since once you write it down it is out of your head. Then you can go over things step by step, either just you or with someone else, and figure out resolutions. I reckon it's all a bit overwhelming, and the stress of that will compound everything. Big HUGS to you! Susan, ah well, I tried on the due date! Still hoping it's soon for all y'all! Shawnee, it wouldn't surprise me if they say I need bifocals. I'm mentally preparing myself for THAT adjustment. I've heard it can really throw you off with 2 different 'visions'. Now I just need to get my butt in gear and go to the eye dr. We've sure GOT to be kin for this osmosis thing to be so strong I sure enough didn't get the think-it-through-screw-it-up/just-do-it-and-it-works thing from my gene pool! LOL on the butt and legs--your legs aren't too short, they reach your feet don't they?Loretta, keep yourself a hidey-hole and use as needed while the company is around. Or, if it starts getting to ya, come down here and visit! The gh is really peaceful, and the furkids just want lovin's. Linda, ugh on the allergies/asthma! That makes it rough travelling. I bet y'all just passed out once you hit your own bed. I don't sleep well away from home either until I get so tired I can't do anything else. There's really no place like home! Welcome back Barb!!! Glad you popped in even if just for a quick hello Zip, where art thou? Well, all, off to email DSisIL about the photo we got of her new baby boy....a German Shepherd named Skye! He's 90 lbs of love, and just gorgeous. Now she gets to have the fun of walking 2 large dogs!
