Monday June 28 Vintagers

Hi to all

Little Leah did visit yesterday and she fell asleep in my arms as I was rocking her. She just slept away and I felt so fortunate to have her there in my arms. I just thought about her heritage and how blessed we are to have that little bundle of joy. She slept for quite a while and I just hung on to her. No time for picture taking.

Ginny I could not get to see that picture you posted about what happened in the green house. I assume that you had a rare occurrence by the rest of your post.
I do salute the Photographer of my new avitar, and commend her for such an excellent display of compositional aptitude, as well as choosing such an obviosly outstandingly grown specimen!
Thanks Ginny.

SuSUN everybody there in you family is busy sprucing up the place. Baby Ella will love visiting there at your place. Enjoy your TM today.

Jackie I though you were going to be on vacation. Sounds like (bang, bang) a different kind of work going on at your place.
I'll trade you company for construction. I am mapping out my strategy and really enjoying the pre visit time too. Hope you enjoyed Harry Potter. I read most of his books.

Gotta go
Back later
Making cookies today. Shawnee I even use some lecithin as part of my "flour" mixture. I did sneak one in for a taste test. Not bad.

Loretta, one day at a time isn't enough today. One second at a time. Got into with my DD and told her to just leave me alone. Got another call into the Dr. Sleeping pills make me sleep but don't help worth beans during the day and just make me groggy all day. Sorry, but wanted you to know, when I feel better, I'll post more. Keep me in your prayers friends.

Loretta,

What a touching description of grandmotherly bonding. Leah will never forget the bond even if her memory can't recall it precisely.
If you cut and paste the lovely blue phal of Ginny's, without the IMG tags, it shows up.

Ginny, at first I thought you were talking about the white speck on the left leaf...I thought God, NOT WHITEFLY...a greenhouser's worst fear!

Shawnee, What did you change to get the pic?

Julie,
Gosh...what can I say? Is it DEPRESSION you're feeling or anger? Or anxiety? Doctor Zip is pretty good at this!

Well, EVERYBODY should go see FAHRENHEIT 911...it will go into the history books along with HEARTS AND MINDS as a film that altered it's time!
I knew pretty much all the facts but it so skillfully brought together and so downright heart-wrenching and at the same time hysterically funny, it's worth TWICE the price of admission.

Susun,
I just might go that student route (NYU School of Dentistry). What I hate WORST about dentisting though is my firm belief that ANYTHING that's done to a tooth is just one more step to the inevitable dentures...from the first filling, through the 8 ever-larger fillings to the cap, then the root canal (in whatever order) to the bridge, the extraction and the final pearly whites that go in the laundromat!...Net cost $5 grand per tooth! Net result: GUMS!

Jacki,
What's your time frame on the new bathroom...I'll bet it's LOVELY when done!

Thinking dinner plans and a tidy-up beforehand.

(I guess you-know-who will probably be home tomorrow? I miss her)

Not sure why the eating binge?

Shawnee,
Seems I have an approval on the extended leave. I did'nt expect it so soon. It has gone up the line and now I have to complete several forms in triplicate etc... BUT, the bottom line is I am Off! YIPPPPPPPPEEEE till Sept 1st. I just have to work this Wednesday, my last day for a while!
Thanks again for the help on the wording.

Loretta,
A wonderful description of you holding Leah yesterday. How secure and comfortable she must have felt in your arms not to wake at all. YOU have a bond there!

Roger,
Glad you can follow up on the College dentistry. Think of it as preventative rather than deterioration. Gotta keep these teeth in our heads as long as we can, even if they are full of amalgum (sp)......thats another story!
Glad you enjoyed the show and thank you for the review and recommendations to go see it. Not too sure when but I hope to go soon. DS flies into town on July 1st so maybe next weekend if DD is not otherwise in L&D.

Julie,
Do hang in there, you have done a marvellous job on DGS take some time for some TLC on yourself. I know you can do it! Sending prayers up for you! YOU will be in my thoughts regularly until you are fully back posting!

Gotta get ready for TMs Meeting.

SuSUN!

Hi Y'all

Another warm day here, been doing the Home and Garden thing...now I'm pooped, but pleased.

Loretta...thanks for sharing those tender moments ....so glad ya had the opportunity to experience them. Would you trade them for all the riches in the world? Silly question, huh? Memories are precious.

SuSUN, Congrats on being (almost) OFF for 2 months SUPER!
I really haven't been baking too much, too hot to run the oven. I did make some Nuker Bread today, using some of the new flour mixed with other flours. Bob TWICE mentioned at Lunch that it was good bread, so I guess it wasn't a total waste.

Ginny, that lil Blue charmer is just darling. Thanks for sharing. How's all the Pups? Ginny, I don't know if you keep up with Mommy Dragon Dawn...she has a total of 4 Pups now..

Jacki, how's the Destruction Derby going? Hope it turns to CONstruction for y'all soon...sure a pain, but worth it.
I've made more Yoggie...I'm sooo hooked.

Julie, hope you get some help and satisfaction from your Dr. ...
Therapy a consideration?

Zip...in Ginny'spic : she used this [\img] instead of this [/img].
A beauty, huh?
Good luck with the Dentist thing.

This is worth a Replay

Best tasting yoggie I ever ate----and I mean that.

By the end of this coming weekend I expect our bath to be mostly done...at least working. old bath torn out and new walls all framed in. I hope.

Thanks Ginny for the bloomer I finally got it to work following Zips suggestion. What a beautiful gal. I just might add her to my avitar collection. IT is growing rapidly, just like those orkids.

Congrats SuSun on getting that extended leave. You won't be sorry one bit for taking the time to be with Ella and DD for this great upcoming event.

Shawnee I can hardly wait for the company to leave so I might just play with the yogurt. Sounds like you are in full yoggie making production there. Thanks Shawnee for posting that orkid, so good to see it again.

It sure is hard to describe some of those moments. Just some certain feeling of life. SuSUN that would be a great topic for the TM, your experiences with Ella the first time.

Jackie hope you get to shower somewhere before the end of the week.

Already getting . DGS who will be coming this way with his Dad this week called yesterday to talk to gramps (he hardly ever calls) He wanted to tell gramps what kind of beer to have on hand for him. I did not say anything to DH. This too shall pass.

Home from TMs, it was a good night!

We have an political election going on right now too! So may be up half the night to see who gets in!

Loretta,
What a great topic for TMs. I am always looking for a subject, yes how do you describe those "magic moment?" Special feelings in life, sounds like a good title.
Thanks for the encouragement regarding the extended leave. I did not want to lose my seniority or rate of pay. I still have to check with the union on those points.
Has the sewing project ended now?
As we say in England, that DGS is a little cheeky to be asking for his fav brand of brew! We will be thinking of you in your nest this weekend. Be like an Eagle and sore above it all!

Jacki,
Sounds like this yoggie is a winner. Okay guys how d'ya start it? Is it straight forward?
What color is your bathroom gonna be? It should be an invigorating project for both you and your DH.

Shawnee,
Glad you are making your daily bread, sounds like the master judge approved it!
I dont blame you for not putting the oven on.
DS said it is so hot down in FLA. He will be glad to fly up here for some cool Canadian breezes. He arrives July 1st!
It is always good to see him.

Ginny,
Such a gorgeous Baby! Ya did good agin! Full marks for the growing and the picture taking abilities. Gold stars all round!
DD had her pup into the Vet for the heartworm and stuff. They suggested that she be de-wormed as she is having a baby. She also suggested that I de-worm Oliver. Do they just do this routinely what if they dont have worms? Do you know anything about this. Thanks if you do.

Roger,
Did ya call the College yet? Are their prices reduced? Here they are about 1/3 of the going rate, so a good saving for those without a medical plan.

Julie,
Thinking of you again tonight! Wishing you a restorative sleep with boundless energy when you awake tomorrow.
I believe sleep is the key to chasing the black dog away!

Hi everyone, We are finally home.
Gosh I really missed each and everyone of you. No computer available there, darn it.

Loretta, Isn't it wonderful to hold a sleeping infant in our arms? Those small, fragile things are the future and give us so much pleasure when we can enjoy time spent with them.

Ugh, so you are still being bombarded with company? Yikes!! When are you going to put your foot down?
I sincerely hope they help so you can relax a bit.

Julie, sorry you and your DD got into it yet again. Wish you could come here so I could teach you to ignore some of that sh*t. It's not worth the aggravation to fight.
Feel better soon sweetie.

Roger, I missed you too.

I just might consider going to see that flick. We shall see. My mom wants to see a few so maybe she will go with me. Gerard won't go to any cause he is too cheap.

Bummer on the chipped tooth. Hopefully it won't cause you any pain but do get it looked at. My mom is 80 and has most of her teeth. We CAN do it too.

Susan, NO baby YET??? My goodness. Well it won't be much longer. Glad you are getting some much needed leave to help your DD. Screw the seniority! Take the time off.

Ginny, What beautiful orkids!!! They are nothing short of spectacular. My poor plants are looking so bad that I don't think they will survive. Told ya I can kill a silk plant. LOL

Jackie, OMG another home improvement project? Good for you. It's going to be really wonderful when it's done. Don't forget we want progress pictures.

Shawnee, glad you and Jackie are enjoying home made yogurt. There is nothing like it. Now we just have to convince Julie that making it isn't difficult at all.

You must check out the recipe thread on the Gatherings BB when they are posted. Hopefully soon.... OMG you would have just loved the BD cake they made for a few of us. It tasted just like a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, but the thing was made of pork rinds.

Where the heck is our Barb? Hopefully she is OK.
I miss the others too and wish they would check in too.

Off to catch up with a ton of posts.
Be well and sleep well everybody.

Linda!!! Sounds like a fun time had by all.
Don't worry about me. I am feeling a little better tonight after having a "family talk" with DGS. Set some rules down. Never did hear from the Dr. and called right before the clinic closed. Guess what? He wasn't even in today. That damn nurse didn't tell me that and I stayed by the phone all day long. GRRRRRRR

Shawnee, thats for the slide show. Gee that looked like fun.

Hey gang,

Late arrival here....had to go in to work early, so no time to post.

Ok, I get the big DUH for screwing up the pic post. Thanks Shawnee for making it work! I told DH that if I just do it I can make it work, but if I think about it then I goof. Go figure!

Loretta, snag the blue violacea if you want! I'm pleased you like the pics to put them in your avitar Have to give DH the credit for the photography--he does pretty much all of the 'chid pics, and usually the pics of the kids too. I luck up every once in a while and get a good shot in, like the blind squirrel will find a nut every so often Sounds like that DGS is a bit ballsey putting in an order for the fav brewski. I'd buy something I like (if I liked beer) and tell him where the store is to get his own. I still got that can of whupa$$ if you need it. Glad you had a great snuggle session with Lil Leah!

Shawnee, thanks for fixing my pic We sure were exited to have that color happen for us. It's the 'Holy Grail' of phal violacea breeding, and is always luck of the draw to get one. We're waiting for another one to bloom, the bud looks like it could show color similar to the blue! Haven't heard from M. Dragon in quite some time...she needs another pup!

Zip, I too will have to find a dentist. Don't wanna go, but I better! I haven't been in over 10 years, so reckon it's time to get the crud scraped off. Also have to go to an optometrist soon. The little bitty print I used to could read is now a headache waiting to happen. Bifocals before 40?!? Yikes!

Linda,

Home! Glad you had a good, safe trip! We missed you! It would have been fun to go for the pig roast, but with our schedules (and massive gh repotting in progress) it would have been too hard.

Jacki, how's the destruction...um...remodelling going? Hope they can stay on schedule!

Susan, WTG on getting that extended leave! I know you're going to enjoy the time off, and DD will certainly appreciate the helping hands! Now all she has to do is pick tomorrow to have Ella and all will be well

Julie, are there any support groups geared towards family issues near you? It may be worth checking out and having a 'live' sounding board. Sometimes talking to someone who has gone through what you're going through now can give you a different perspective and suggestions on what worked/didn't work for them.

Well, all, off to lurk for a minute, then BED. Nite...
