Sunday, Vintage Mailtainers
Looking forward to a nice fun-filled day with movie, rally, din-din out (probably Japanese rice bowl thingy) and usually the best fireworks display NY has to offer INCLUDING the Macy's Fourth of July do. Around midnight on Gay Pride Day they are shot from the Village piers across the Hudson directly AT US!
Let me know if you use Norton anti-virus? The day could not be more beautiful with low humidity, brilliant sun filled sky, and temps in the 70's. My only glum point is another chipped tooth yesterday, which gives me exactly FOUR reasons to get to the dentist...F$CK!

Good Morning Maintainers, Rise and Shine!
Roger it seems we have a few MIA's this weekend! Another gorgeous day up here. DH and his friend got half way yesterday, with the hardwood flooring. They will continue on Wednesday as they both have to work till then. Roger, Keep Smiling! Did you try to get in to see a subsidized dentist? We have a couple of options up here. The City provides a free dentist for people on various pensions. Then, the colleges where the students provide cleaning treatments for a far reduced rate. They can't get enough clients to practice on.Enjoy the Japenese rice bowl thingy! Those fireworks must be terrific! DS always used to host a Pride Pool Party in June at his other home. He used to enjoy dressing up the pool with huge planters fresh flower all around. How do I know if I have Norton anti virus? DSIL has me loaded to the Gills! I have two other things not sure what they do. Spybot and Ad something. Clean out cookies and stuff. He does that for me monthly.Have a wonderful Sunday! No signs from DD yet! Got my bag and cooler ready for the hospital! · Linda - June 27th not yet! · Ginny - June 29th · DD – June 30th or July 1st · DSIL – July 3rd · Loretta - July 3rd · Shawnee - July 3rd · DS – July 4th · SuSUN - July 4th · Julie – July 7th · Roger - July 9th · DH - July 10th SuSUN! ![]() |

Hi to all
Just got busy yesterday with that sewing machine and trying to wind up some projects before the company begins to arrive on Thursday. I have a few more things on the list involving some food prep. Just things we can eat later if they don't get around to it. I just feel more comfortable being a little prepared. Some are staying just 2 or 3 days but some are staying a week. During that time some are coming Thurs, some Sat, some leaving Monday and another set coming on Monday. DStepD says don't worry you won't have to do a thing. Several more were invited by DStepSon and they might or might not show up. Don't know for sure. Looks about 9 or 10 days of company. Zip I'm sure that parade will have some News coverage this evening. I think it usually gets some attention. We have weather similar to yours, sunshine low humidity. Enjoy the fireworks. DId you see the 9/ll movie / documentary? Ginny thanks for my new avitar. Hope you don't mind that I cut your Leprechaun down to size. I just love your Kids. They sure do keep you busy. Sorry that job did not pan out for DH. How about where you work? or is that not allowed. My sons both worked at the same paper mill for quite a while. SuSUN thanks for the articles on the sugars. Take a look at your program menu in the pc to see if you have those items that Zip has mentioned. You need to have your DSIL show you how to do those things. MY DS has showed me lots of good things but I want to be able to do them on my own too. Just waiting for the 3rd of July to roll in here and bring Ella along. Shawnee thanks for the pic of the parade. Looks something like our usual "TATER DAY" parade with those horses. It is an annual event celebrating the planting of sweet potatoes even though you can hardly find them at the 3 day doings. Yes company soon. I also have to start making a nest. I think I will stick to our bedroom for my nesting. They usually don't bother their sleeping dad. Julie how goes it by you. Wish I had a formula for stress free living I could share with you but no such thing. We just have to "take one day at a time" as coined by another group. That is the best way to live. I'm pretty sure Barb is on vacation but should be back soon. Hey to Linda if you are out there lurking. We miss you. Both of you hurry back. Baby Leah is coming over this afternoon for a visit. Well, we got a bunch of demolition done today. Took out the vanity so we could take the wall it was on out. Took out more plaster lathe and getting things ready to start installing facilities. Thankfully the shower and throne will be still running until probably thursday when DH and my brother will be proceeding with getting everything installed. Lots to do, plumbing, sheetrocking, tiling. We bought the vanity and top, shower stall and doors last weekend. Still need to get the medicine cabinet and lights for over the vanity. Sheesh....lots to do!
Hey Zip, I saw some of the parade on tv this evening. Were you there? I wondered if you were in the crowd....but then, I wouldn't have recocnized you if you were. Hope you had a good time. Quote:
All that company??? and not have to do a thing????? I hope she is right.....and that you get to just enjoy. SuSun, still no baby? Goodness gracious that poor mama! Maybe for the 4th. Friday and yesterday I worked out in the yard. Digging more dangblasted sod!! 5 wheelbarrows worth just to transplant one climbing rose. LOL I didn't want to dig just a circle in the grass---so I sculped the sod to incorporate it into the contours of the lawn. For now I have a climbing stick with a few leaves on it. hahahaha Tomorrow DD and I are taking grkids to see Harry Potter. I'm looking forward to seeing it with the kids. And I'm going to take a break from the yard. Really..........really I am.........AM TOO!!! ![]() |

Checking back I see a couple of you have checked in!
Loretta, Thanks for the tip on the pc program menu. Yes, it seems I do have Norton anti virus. Sheeeesh! That sounds like a whole mess o'company comin over! and ya have nothing to do, yeah right!Did ya manage to wind up the sewing projects? I really do want to give that a good try when I dont have work hanging over me! How was your visit with Lil' Leah? I bet she is growing fast now and moving thru those developmental stages. Are ya still kissing those baby toes? Roger, Yes, I do have the Norton Anti Virus! Enjoy the parade, there are fireworks in Orlando tonight too and not just at Disney! Jacki, Wow, ya gotta a wall banger? I gotta floor banger! We have our very own fireworks right at home eh?Sounds like it's going to be a pretty job! I walked by a garden today and had you in mind. They had a half barrel tipped on its side half buried in the soil with flowers that looked like they had be tipped or fallen out of the barrel. It was quite effective. Another lady with creative ideas! I want to get some trellis and paint it beige to place at the back of my Lily garden. DH is busy with the flooring and I am a tad busy with DD's needs right now. I may be able to squeeze some time to get into Home depot or a gardening store. Is it better to spray the trellis with tremclad or the like? Yep, still no baby, 11 days to go to her due date. DS and I have placed our bets on July 4th in our Fun Pool. You deserve a change from the garden. Take the luxury to enjoy the Movies with your Family! I am sure it will be a good show. I saw the last one with DS and DD, as DH does'nt do movies unless it is on video! ![]() Tell your DD to plan a holiday in the England and Wales to show the children some real castles. LOL! Shawnee, Are ya off in a bakin frenzy now that ya have a bushel of Flour! Thank you for the writin fix ups, sent the email off this aft, so they will receive first thing in the am. Then I will sit and await there response. Sheeeesh! I hope I dont have to resign. I guess I could always offer to go on a reduced work week, 1 day a week! LOL! What parade? I did'nt see the pics.I will have to get the ole recipe books out to help feed DD and DSIL for the first couple of weeks. He is pretty handy in the kitchen but I dont want him to miss out on the baby. Any suggestions for a weeks meals line up? They are not low carbing! Lasanga comes to mind for one meal. Seems I've caught the "drapes and sheers" cleaning bug from YOU, via Loretta. While DH has all the furniture out of the room I noticed the drapes were a tad dusty, so off they go tomorrow to the dry cleaners. The sheers are washable! I am the Chair tomorrow night at TMs. so not much to practice this week.cool: CU G8ers! SuSUN ![]() Last edited by SuSUN : 06-27-2004 at 07:49 PM. |

Hey y'all,
Got the blues today. Went out to the gh, and this is what we found: [img]http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/auction/Jun/20046275498073087071249.jpg[\img] So I came in the house to get some stability and ate a bunless cheeseburger with ranch dressing (2, actually), and topped it off with lc butter pecan ice cream! I now am sufficiently calm enough to post today. This pic is phalaenopsis violacea, the color is true, and extremely rare. The plant came from a compot we have been raising up for about 1 1/2 years. They say blues can occur on average of 1 in every 200, even with strong genetics for this trait. Seems like all are doing well today! Jacki, you have my sympathies for the remodelling. Been there, done that! But the finished product is worth it! Susan, hopefully they will approve your extended leave and you can be assured of that job when you do go back. Lucky you, not working full time to begin with! Loretta, love your new avitar! The photographer should be commended for such an excellent display of compositional aptitude, as well as choosing such an obviosly outstandingly grown specimen! The grower of your photo plant must be, of course, one of the worlds most premier and renowned horticulturists! Oh, and I love my 'chids too!Hey to everyone else!
