VINTAGE MAINTER'S Ruby Tuesday
Hi kids,
I took a doozy of a fall on Sunday racing between trains to save 15 minutes...I made it into the train...HEAD FIRST! Achey Breaky morning! Not much new. Thanks Linda for stopping me from getting Part 2 of SALEM'S LOT. I guess I'll wait til they do both again on TNT. Since it must have cost them a fortune to produce it will probably be on weekly til the Apocalypse! Let me correct a misperception: that post of the boat on on Sunday was either the Carnival MAGIC or the EMPRESS...they were my consolation prices when the damn QM2 wouldn't MOVE from her uptown berth....for 2 hours! We gave up. Next time the QM (in July sometime). Julie, I thought you had mistyped when you said "fans!" My LORD, survival til 2004 without air conditioning....God, I've even seen pictures of IGLOOS with Fedders sticking through the walls! They are SOOOO cheap now that they are made everywhere but HERE! I saw a 5000 BTU unit last week for $59 ! Supreme Court really screwed us yesterday. They ruled that we CAN'T sue when an HMO denies care, even if illegal and contrary to the contract no matter how damage we suffer. That simply allows HMO's to deny EVERYTHING. "Pneumonia? Nope, we consider antibiotics EXPERIMENTAL." "MRI, nope we only pay for plain X-rays after a car accident!" As Ollie said often to Stan: "What a fine mess you've gotten us into!" Nice day everyone. Our day started beautifully....sunny and 67...but they want spotty showers starting at noon. I'd like some fish tonight! Hmmm!

Gosh Roger, are you ok after that head first fall??? Not a good idea....
Our 90 degree day is starting out quite cool here at 8:30. It's only about 57, cloudy and now only 87 predicted. Feels quite good!! Do you belong to an HMO? We do but have never had a problem and have a wonderful dr. Hmmmm is that just in New York or the nation? Luncheon date today. Nick isn't working so will have him TRY and get a hold of the damn attorney. Grrrr Not much elds going on. Just the normal errands, like Wally world!!!!!

HI to all
Zip hope you did not injure anything on that head first fall. Did anyone help you up? Surely there was a Good Samaritan around. That is embarssessing too. Didn't know anything loose up there did you? I heard that HMO news on the evening news yesterday. I had an HMO years ago but did not have any problems withit. The coverage was good as long as you followed their rules. They are all good and bad, regardless of the company. Julie not only do we have central air but also many fans. I wish we had more ceiling fans, but just have 1. The other rooms have portable fans. You need them to circulate that cool air. Logan is a doll. Bet his sisters just love him. Enjoy that luncheon. DGS's problems will be solved sooner or later. Anticipating the outcome is the stressful part. SuSUN LOL on the Catholics and the day lilies. I have not heard about that. I have heard that the Baptists call Catholics "Mackeral Snappers". Bet that late phone call scared you. Are you ready to go at a moment's notice? Take some lc food along with you, it might take a while for Ella to make her way. Shawnee hope you got a response from you email to the flour people. I did not get a response from my email to my mag co. I forwarded them another today. Sometimes email is not dependable. I tried to call them but was on hold too long and gave up. Linda enjoy your days off from work. You can get used to just being home for a while and then when the real thing kicks in you will be all set. Where are your pics. Did you get that chair flowered up? YES the chiggers do bite through clothes, I sure have not been out in the yard NAKEEEED. I think the trick yesterday worked. Sometimes it takes a day or so before the bites show up though. Catch the rest of you later. Loretta |

Hey gang,
Ok, who started this chigger thingy????? I have 3 bites, either from the picnic or from the gh we visited on Sunday. Grumble grumble whine whine. Used an anit-itch spray for the DOGS! Seems to have helped. Zip, in a word, OUCH. Hope you're feeling better! Julie, hang in there, it will all work out. Loretta, I will take these 3 chigger bites over your poison ivy attack a few years ago, but they are no fun. At least we don't have them in our yard! Jacki, sympathy will be put forth upon your return. Don't get too sore! Susan, just a week left by my calculations! Have a cooler handy by the fridge for the food you're gonna take with you. Shawnee, are ya staying in the a/c or braving the yard? Linda, enjoy your days off work! 2 whole weeks, wish I could do that! Well, all, off to water and then to work. Everyone have a great day!

Sunday stroll along Southern 5th Avenue...where the richest of the city lived in the late 19th Century. GORGEOUS 150 year old Church of the Acension (Episcopal) had their homily posted out front:
"Christ died to remove our sins NOT our BRAINS!" Isn't that great....can you imagine that on a CATHOLIC church? I can't. Well, we ordered movie tickets and paid in advance for the first time in my life...FAHRENHEIT 9/11 on Sunday afternoon. I'm sure the audience will be a RIOT. Movie house is in Times Square so it will be a corky crowd! Last edited by zip2play : 06-22-2004 at 12:34 PM. |

Back again....garden tilled and planted. Only 4 tomato plants and 3 kinds of summer squash. Also, one hill with an Atlantic Giant pumpkin that I hope makes it. It's just for fun. I also put a couple small plants in the ground and did some spraying. My sholders and arms are getting stiff. Arms mostly from trying to neatly coil 100 ft of hose that kept getting twisted.
Zip, I sure hope you didn't bang yourself up too badly. How does it feel today? Careful!! Hope the rest of the day goes well for all.....I'm going to enjoy a nice quiet afternoon. Ice tea and a book. (I've started Anna Karenina) |

Hi gang,
Geezzzz Roger, how the hell did you manage to fall like that? Hope you aren't all black and blue. DUH, sorry about the mis perception. You know we country bumpkins can't tell one ship from another. LOLLMAO would love to see that on a Catholic Church. Can't wait to hear your review of the very controversial film, FAHRENHEIT 9/11. Julie, hope Nick gets in touch with that attorney. Keep us posted. now did you get the air conditioner? You won't be sorry. I'm still laughing at Igloos with Fedders sticking out of them. He's right you know. Jackie, that sounds like quite a work out. Hope your garden does well. Now tell me, what is an Atlantic Giant Pumpkin? Loretta, no I didn't get the chairs flowered yet. I can't seem to get into it. Do you like your ceiling fan? Many people I know want them taken out. We don't have any so I don't know about them. Ginny, we all want the name of the Dog anti itch spray. Heck, if it works, why not use it? Are those darn chiggers all over the south? Don't work too hard tonight. Shawnee and Susan, what's up with you today? I'm off to finish laundry. Back later. |

Hi Gang!
Checking in late agin! Another lovely day off work, we did get a little rain today but everywhere is so green, and the rain soon dried up. DD getting really uncomfortable the baby is kicking the heck out of her ribs regularly right now. I have to work for the next 3 days, so hope she doesnt go into Labour until next week. I only have one day to work next week. So only 4 days to my mini-countdown. I get two weeks off with her. I am working on an excuse to stay off longer! I would like to stay off until September, ummmmmh???????Shawnee, Loved your email to the company, that's tellin 'em! Yeah, we all wanna know what the flour is like. Your new pic is gorgeous you look ready for Ascot! You wear your Mom's day present very well. I will take your tip when the Lillies bloom I will take pics for practice. The carpet cover has ceased flowering and the peonies are drooping and losing their petals now. Jacki, Is that Pumpkin on Steriods? I envy you, with your cool ice tea and that really neat book! Whew! What a work out! "You are a better man than me Gunga Din!" (sp?) Ginny, Thank YOU for the timely reminder to pack a cooler with my legal foods. Now what is that dog anti-itch cream as Oliver could use some? I pay $15.00 for a small tube from the Vets and I go through that almost weekly. Loretta, Thank YOU for the reminder again about the food. Yes, 1st births on average are 12-14 hours. She plans to stay at home for half of her labour, until the contractions are more closer together. I hope she goes quickly like me, so she is still fresh to enjoy looking at her baby. LOL at the Mackeral Snappers. I guess that's because we had fish every Friday in the old days. Roger, Yikes, how is the head? A fall like that would scare me! I guess you are a strong man. Glad you are okay! If you feel like fish tonight how about some of Loretta's Mackeral? LOL! DH will not eat it. I used to eat it with my Dad when I lived at home. Julie, Glad you can keep cool! It is great how all these appliances are coming down in price. They certainly are handy when you need them. Did Bo have his heartworm check yet? What product do you use for the summer? The injection or drops on the neck? Linda, A few days home to enjoy the garden and chores eh? No work for a while. That is great! Back to the ole salt mines for me tomorrow! Gotta have a good excuse to stay off work! SuSUN! ![]() |

SuSun, we don't need to give Bo heartworm meds around this part of the country. We have before but only if we are going to Oregon etc. I give him Program for fleas!

Hi Y'all
...well, here I am with egg on my face, and that flour website "company" is getting the laffs... I've always been leery re ordering from the Net...but got too excited bout that flour..obviously I didn't order from the same site the other gals did...didn't do the research I should have, and since have after the fact. With NO replies to my two E mail enquiries re order, I tried calling..haha..joke! So I had 411 operator check that town for number: non-existant.. Then to the Net: the Business License # on their site is NOT registered...nothing about them with the BBB or their Town directory... Called my credit card co. to report it. So...IF that flour shows up, I'm gonna be very surprised... Loretta, DO NOT hit that SEND key. On a better note, the weather today was fab! Had a full day of cloud cover, 70° and a wonderful reprieve from a week of heat. I spend a lot of time playing Farmer of course. Jacki, you sure got a lot done this AM. Way to go, you deserve a good "down" time with book. That's one huge pumpkin! Montana, thanks for theE mail pic. Enjoy your non-work days, and hope the weather is perfect for y'all. Those chairs have patience; we don't ! ![]() Zip, sure hope you recoop fast from that Dive... FUNNY re that church sign ![]() SuSUN, Ella will make the Schedule decisions Sure hope her arrival time works out to your advantage.Ginny, you too? You and Loretta must be tastey!! Julie, I was sorry to hear about the HMO decision...further hobbling the Docs. They spend too much time doing paperwork and puppet -dancing to the HMOs' tunes Loretta, good luck in your Mag quest...I was on the phone re credit card..with a guy in India...I swear, he learned English on Mars. It was a very difficult conversation, I needed an interpeter. I need to get over this bad adventure before I consider ordering from another site. To all, have a good evening. Shawnee |

Yikes! Shawnee, a flour scam, sheesh!
I hope your Credit card refunds you the loss or prevents more debits. I was just returning to let you know that you influenced my dessert tonight. I bought some frozen unsweetend blueberries and had 2 tbsp. of the tart Balkan style Astro yoghurt, with a shake of splenda. It was delicious! I could not pick those red currants that you had the other day, so I hit the frozen section. This package should last me a week or two. Thank YOU! Julie, Sorry, I did not know that you don't have to treat pets on the West Coast. Oliver had two moderate walks today. One with DD and her dog and another one with me tonight. I am trying to get more physical. I have been moving dishes up stairs from my china cabinet as DH is putting hardwood floors in the living-dining room and family room. They are moving the furniture tomorrow, so I have made at least 10 trips up and down the stairs, back is a tad sore now, should be okay after a nights sleep! Off to bed, cuz work tomorrow! I love my Dr. and never had a problem in the 18-20 years we've been with Group Health. They have sent me to outside surgeons, eye specialists, ortho etc without any problem at all. I'm very happy with them Am I being short or something? Seems everybody is stepping lightly around me. I hope I didn't give that impression. BTW Nick is doing just wonderful here with us. He's staying busy and has a new girl friend to help matters. Please don't feel sorry for me. I'm much happier knowing he is with us and doing so well. Gotta get this tired old butt to bed in a few but wanted to check in once more.
Jackie, oh yeah. Now I understand. We have a contest up north a few miles and I have seen some of those giants. Wow they are impressive. Hope you get a HUGE one. Susan, so why don't you just take the time off to be with Ella and your DD? Go for it. Your skills are in great demand and you could surely find something else if you so desired. Hope she pops that baby soon. Julie, boy are you fortunate. We have a huge heart worm problem in this area. DD just got some meds to protect Dakota. Sheesh I guess fleas and ticks are all over the country. He picked up a wood tic last week and it was a devil of a time getting it out. So Nick has a new girl?? She will keep him busy." Short or something?".... Us short...stepping lightly???? Shawnee, OMG is that company totally a fraud? It's business addy isn't too far from here. Hopefully you will not have any charges on your card. I sincerely hope it just went out of business and didn't try to scam you by charging. Yeah the chairs will have to wait. Off to bed. CYA |

Me again...
Quickie here to answer before I forget...the anti-itch is put out by Vetranarina's Best, it is really for hot spots etc, and has tea tree oil in it (natural anti-fungal). We just tried it on a whim and it seemed to help! Shawnee, grrrrrrrr on that bogus company. Wanna borrow my spare can of whupa$$? Time for bed! |
