Newbie here
Hi all. I have been reading your posts for a while now, and finally I am able to chime in. YAY!
Today is officially my first day of maintenance. So, my question is.....what is the best thing you've done that has helped you maintain? I am SO committed to not regaining. Is it just keep doing what you did during OWL? Thanks for any tips. I'll need help I'm sure! |

CONGRATULATIONS JILL ON REACHING YOUR GOAL I remember that day well. I was scared to death. It opened up a whole new concept for me. How on earth was I going to keep the weight off. Don't worry and just be patient with yourself. It is just a constant matter of adjusting. You will do fine. If not just readjust your eating habits after a good look at them. We are all different and our bodies react differently. Just do whatever works for you. Keep an eye on that scale before the pounds get out of control. The highest I have gone over goal is 5 pounds, but now I am back under my goal weight. Congrats again. Let us know how you are doing.

Thank you meistake and Loretta.
![]() Loretta, that's just how I felt this morning-elated and then scared! I am planning to go on induction levels if I get 3 pounds over goal at any point. I'm sure that will happen at times, but I know, thanks to this great WOE, that I can lose those 3 pounds fairly easily. I'm going to the Atkins site right now to read about maintenance. I can't find my book at the moment! |

Hi and welcome to the wonderful world of maintenance Jill.
on a job well done.As Loretta said, everyone is different so you will have to find your own path. Just don't go back to eating sugar, flour or other high carb foods and you will be just fine. |

Congrats to you for making the Goal Line...
Use lots of variety so you are never bored with your foods, or feeling deprived. As Loretta and Montana stated, we all gotta find what works for us individually, to keep us satisfied and healthy. Best wishes for a lifetime of happy maintaining. Shawnee |

Hi Jill - welcome to maintenance, my Firm buddy!
I have found the best thing I have done since I reached maintenance is keep the attitude that this is a way of life. Going back to my old way of eating would mean going back to being fat, and I'm never going there again. Also I had to set new goals for myself besides just seeing the number on the scale go down. Exercise and firming up has filled that role in my life now. The exileration I got from seeing the scale go down left a void when I reached my goal. Now I look at myself in the mirror and note the changes in my arms, abs, legs, etc. that I see from doing The Firm workouts. Its not as "measured" and precise, but just as fulfilling to see the changes in my body. Congratulations on reaching your goal! Julia

Thank you. Julia that is SO what I'm feeling; you hit the nail right on the head. Not seeing the scale going down is weird after watching it, albeit slowly, moving downwards for months. Refocusing on my "training" will give me something to shoot for.
Okay, girls, what do we all focus on when we are perfect physical specimens? ![]() |
