FRIDAY of the Veteran Maintainers

Up early today so I'll post before coffee.
It's gonna be a scortcher over 90 today. We DID get a torrent of rain for an hour last night (that goddess) but it raised the humidity from 90% to 100% (for real). I will NEVER take air conditioning for granted- best invention of my lifetime. Temps shold drop considerably tomorrow.
You kiddies on the West coast are being battered with boiling breezes <he said alliteravely.>

Salmon was quite good, delicious actually, so I will of course continue to use the Atlantic Silverbrite for its price. A&P gives free marinade and I chose Cajun and marinated it for 4 hours. Then 10 minutes in a 400°F oven did the trick. (I didn't want to use the Foreman with the marinade and burn it black!)

Shawnee,
I use the green peas so the soup comes out the "right" color/

Jacki,
CONGRATULATIONS on doing your time. I LOVE your dancing cows:

Susun,
Wow, a new camera. I've heard that most people find the KODAKS very easy to use (I have a CANON and love it.) REMEMBER to set the image on small or medium and the resolution on medium unless you want to print 8x10! Trial and error will get you where you want to be.

Linda,
Mails are faster than they used to be, that was mailed Tuesday PM...I hope you enjoy it. (If you do, pass it on to a friend.)

Julie,
You sound a bit jollier. Feel better? (I know what a bummer depression is!)

Ginny,
I'm picturing quite a caterwalling of fur people!

Yawwns and a crawl to the coffee pot...I finally blew off the weekend's 3 pounds of water. GOOD!

TAAAA!

Good Morning Magnificient Ones!

It is another gorgeous day up here again. The sky is cloudy but the sun keeps peeping through. I am off today, so that makes it a gorgeous day in my book.

I have a couple of errands to do today. The bank, my hearing test again and DD's. I love a slow morning on my days off.

Thank you for the info and thumbs up on the camera. I really don't know much about them, so I wanted to check with you experts here.

We bought the Canon top of the line 2 years ago for DS's birthday around $700.00 back then. DSIL bought the same model. He has a teeny, tiny hand sized video camera now. His latest toy, along with his blackberry! A sweet guy but a real geek! Kinda keeps us up-to-date!

Roger,
Thanks for the tips to watch the SIZE!
I honestly didn't see a size when I was sending pics out.

Do you have a tip for reducing the back splash, taste, of salmon oil. I have been taking the capsules and I do notice a bit of a burpy after taste.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 3LBS GONE! Excellent going!
How did you cook your eggplant? Is that what you served along with the salmon? Tons of garlic?

Waving to Y'all. I'll check back later when more folks have checked in!

Good morning folks. Beautiful morning here. It was very hot yesterday and will be again today so I have the windows open for that cool morning air. I need to do some grass mowing before it heats up too much. Later today I want to get to Home Depot for some good potting mix and a big pot for a new plant a friend bought me. Bruggmansia (Trumpet Flower). Beautiful challange this plant is. Only hardy to zone 9....I live in zone 7 so it will need to be brought in for winter. XX your fingers for me the poor baby doesn't die.

What to do with all this time....hmmmmm, laundry??? Dusting???? dishwashing???? watch a morning movie until it isn't too early to run the mower????

Zip...ewww on that humidity. When growing up in Texas it was the humidity that was insufferable. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. This old Texas gal has been away for wayyyy to long for that.

Have a good day folks...I'll check in later.

Jacki,

That new pot and plant sounds like Fun!
Any ideas on a Tree for Ella, still mulling it over. Not sure what zone I am in, gotta do my homework.
A local friend assured me that a Magnolia will live this far north, not sure? I will have to check at the Nursery, wish I was off all summer now like you. Lucky Gal! Great Cows!

Hi to all

Just getting here late today after a busy day of running around.

Jackie I love the cows and your wondering what to do first with all of that time on your hands. I'll tell you now, I thought it would be like that after I retired but I have so many things I want to do that I have to get up early so I can get my priorities in before I start the regulars. Walking, exercising and computering takes up a lot of my time. Don't be running that mower too early you'll be waking Shawnee up.

Zip are you gonna try that coffee black? Just curious if you got my suggestion about saving that cream allowance. Hope you get a nice cool down there.

Linda how far south will you be coming if you can talk Gerard into further travel. I know how it goes. I don't mind doing some things but Dh enters in and that always calls for adjustments, (like forget it). Take that camera when you go to see Nikolas, I want to see him too. Leah as 2 bottom teeth that are just barely up. Gonna be hard to get a shot of them, she frequently has her hand in her mouth.

SuSun sure can't give you much help regarding a tree, not sure what does well in your area. The nursery should be complete now. What are those do dads on the hat rack? Look like different kinds of hats. I love the Little chair. Good luck with the camera. You just have to jump in and do it. You will learn by trial and error. Pay attention to the picture size ie (200 x 320) or what ever dimentions. The avitars are only 90 x 90. So if your picture says that it is 2000 x 1800 it is really big. You can right click, on your mouse, on most pictures and it will tell you their size. A good size for posting pics is around 200 x 200 or so.

Shawnee hope you get that flour real soon. I am anxious to try it myself. Thanks for your pics. I have some new desktop wallpaper on my pc. Beautiful to look at.

Julie have you finished your workout at Curves yet???? where are you gal.

Lretta

Hi everyone,

Roger, that mail was FAST!! Wow.

Glad the salmon was good and flavorful with the Cajun spices. Haven't tried that myself yet. Usually we use garlic butter.

on the three lbs down.

Jackie, awwww. what a beautiful baby that is. Looks like a seal point. Is he/she?

Loretta, we will be south of Knoxville near the border but talking DH into driving west further is not looking too good right now. Gotta get my duct tape out and open the trunk

Susan, it's best to check with a Nursery or garden center before you spend big bucks on something that may not survive. Magnolias do well in this area. They are beautiful but the blossoms are very short lived and messy when they fall. Everyone around here b*tches about the mess they make.

Julie, LOL priorities are important . Hope your Mariner's win.

Shawnee. How long before you get that flour? We are all waiting with baited breath.

Ginny, did ya survive hell night?

Off to catch up.

Loretta,
THANK YOU FOR THE PHOTO TIPS! I have copied them. I have a folder with all the computer and photo tips from you Guys. One day when I am trying to do stuff they will all make sense to me!

DSIL has approved our purchase but said we should have got a CD or cable connector not sure what he is talking about yet. He will explain over the weekend I am sure.

Yes, Loretta they are little Hats on the "Alice in Wonderland" rack.
Kinda like the Mad Hatter eh?
DD could not resist the small chair and matching ottoman. Her nightdress and robe even match the toile in the babies room!

She was really tired today. The humid weather will do that when you are 8 months PG.

Jacki,
I am sure DD lay back like your Kitty to cool off too! LOL!
As Roger says Thank Goodness for A/C.
She/He is adorable just doing what comes naturally, priceless!

Ginny,
How was the ole night shift? I hope it worked out better than you anticipated.
Glad you are having some "critter people" come live closeby.
Are they OrKID people too?
Will you share your swing on your porch? LOL!
Hugs to all your critters!

Oliver is napping agin as usual.

Sorry I missed you Linda, takes me so long to post by the time I send, someone else has snook in!

Thanks for the info on Magnolia trees. Ummmm now what blossoms for longer than that? Will have to tap into a nursery man or womans knowledge. A new priority! LOL!

Ok, I'm back. The Mariner's won!! Not many of those this year. Boy was it hot here today but probably not as hot as Jacki and Shawnee. I think it was about 85, not official yet. Too dang hot for me. Remember my comfort zone is between 74-76.

Tomorrow Chuck and I are going to meet Mary from the Golden Years bb and her DH for a picnic. The guy's met when we all got together to meet Begete on the GY bb awhile back. Should be fun.

Sunday, we are going to go to our DD for Father's day and DDIL birthday. It's been quite tense between Ann and me but we'll get through it.

Nick is doing quite well. It's been 4 weeks already and his court date isn't for another 20 days. He's working a lot which is a god send.

SuSun, your pics are just too large. I bet you're sure getting excited. How about a flowering dogwood. Beautiful. Check and see if they good there.

Zip, I love salmon and the spices sound good to me.

Jacki, I love the pic. Bo lays like that all year round. It looks so silly.

Hi Loretta and Linda. Sorry I'm not too chatty tonight. Hot and cranky!!

Hi Y'all

We saw 94° today, and hope we don't have a rerun of that soon. Predicted T Boomers missed us, but dropped the temp down 10° to "bearable".

Ginny, hope this winds up your work week, and you find time to gag lotza lollies on the weekend.

Made shiskabobs on the grill..veggies and bacon-wrapped shrimp..Yum..complete meal.

Loretta, glad ya found a use for the pics If ya can't get lil Leah to show off those teeth, we'll be happy with toes..fingers, whatever.

Montana, still waiting on flour delivery...checked site, the only info was: Order approved.

Jacki, that Ernestine is one kewl kitty
Did Y'all notice her extra digits???

SuSUN, the camera should have a USB cable and an Audio/video cable for the TV...anyhoo, mine is similar and they were included.

Zip, I got green peas...and ham in the freezer. Waiting for cooler weather to crank up the pot.

Julie, those Mariners are sure trying to make a comeback. Have fun at the picnic...and hopefully your Sunday get-together may be surprisingly pleasant.

Have a great Saturday.

My little Ernestine Kitty is a mix breed. She does have the extra toes and is part siamese. I think the vets call her seal point...but I don't know. I call her KittyMeow for short.

want to see a pic of my Angels Trumpet?
