Monday for VINTAGE MAINTAINERS

Good morning kiddies,

We had a nice weekend with GLORIOUS weather the whole time. Some occasional showers coming into the picture this week but with highs in the 70 and lows in the 60's, this is a PERFECT June.

Vietnamese dinner with Vicki Friday and a good Chinese feast for us last evening gave me too much sodium and a +3lb squishy spike. I'll try to sauna it off today with a low salt regimen.
Pretty good show yesterday called BOISE about the slow disintegration of a man during his mid-life crisis causing a slowly building chaos.

Loretta,
I got that catalogue from Puritan...gotta laugh at their changing deals...now BUY 2 GET 3 FREE (5 total). THAT'S gotta be a first. A nicety is the front page coupons that give up to $15 OFF an order of $100 (more than covers the $3.95 shipping.)

I picked up something called TRIBULUS at the Health Food Store for "potency"....$10 is worth a shot (somebody on the HealthBoards talked it up.)

With my Lipitor, Fish Oils, Lecithin, Folic Acid, no trans fats and lowish saturated fats...I get LDL's of 96; HDL of 58 and a total cholesterol in the 160's. I will add pantothenic acid to that when I need to fill out an order for more Lecithin. Gee, I wish PP sold liquid cod liver oil.
Got a good coupon for SMARTBEAT in the Sunday paper...good, that means they won't be discontinuing it!

Missed the Queen Mary Friday....next shot will be June 19 I think.

Best post lest my ISP gets antsy!

Good Day all.
Susun, Put me down for the 9th!

Hey gang,

Looks like a pretty day for us here. Got a roast slowly cooking on the grill, first time for this endeavor, so hoping it turns out ok! Planned on 3 hours of cook time cuz it's a pretty good sized chunk of meat.

Zip, sounds like a fun but busy weekend for y'all. Glad you enjoyed!

Shawnee, I used to run the rider, but allergies kick into overdrive so now DH does it. I can if I need to and take the claritin so it's not so bad, but prefer not to if I don't have to. Sounds like a fun wedding/reception I like the ones that are more geared to everyone having some fun. Glad you knew many people and had plenty to chat with!

Linda, I wonder how much our cholesterol is affected being smokers . I know my ratios suck, but lc has done tremendous good for the total! My dr. said that with my triglycerides being so good that it's not a lot to worry about.

Loretta, at least you had the gumption to try the bread! I don't have any of the ingred necessary for it, so not gonna try it I don't think. Not much of a baker here, but enjoying all y'all's experimentation

Susan, that nursery is sure pretty! One much anticipated family addition to be sure!

Julie, hope you're enjoying your excursion!

Jacki, you're at THE LAST WEEK!!! WOOHOO! I know you're tickled! Have fun with it and don't let the kids wear you down

Well, all, off to shower and flip a roast!

HAPPY FLAG DAY

Shawnee I closed my eyes and did not even see that new bread.
I'll pass. I have gone back to eating regular full carb rye bread on sundays (2 slices) and I have lost weight. Down to 2 pounds under goal. Just pass me the real thing, once a week and I'll survive.
Glad you enjoyed that wedding and you were right there at DS's house. Bet he appreciated those extra hands too. 6 hours of celebrating that would be a tad long.
I have a similar problem to yours although DH does mow the lawn but that is about it. Any and everything else is done by yours truly. He says he will fill me up with energy anytime I want a dose though. My x was an avid Eagle and we spent lots of time at the local club either bowling or socalizing.

Linda I won't get my blood work checked again until around Sept. I didn't know you took the pantothenic acid too. I have recently added a bunch of other b vits also. I sure like our new priest already. He is a real personable Irish fellow, 38 yrs old. We even had some beer at yesterday's reception.

Zip I was debating about switching to the pantethine but I see it is quite a bit more expensive and my HDL is always very high anyway. I guess this is a good sale, buy 2 get 3 free but the price seems higher on the lecithin or is that my imagination? What say you? I'll take advantage of the $15 off of my order for sure. I still have not found SMART BEAT around here but am using the light smart balance now.

SuSUN the nursery pics are beatiful. Ella has a closet full of clothes waiting for her. Leah is sporting a new tooth. She seems to be feeling a lot better. I got to give her some hugs yesterday. Every time I see her she has grown a tad or is doing some new thing with her hands and or feet. Seems like she is busy observing all around her. You just have a tendency to hold and cuddle and watch them grow right there in you arms.

Julie I do think that lowering some of the fats helped me a lot in changing my lipids. I will be anxious to see what happens in the fall because by then it will be a full year of lowering the fat and the lecithin, panthoenic acid etc. Enjoy that camping trip. How is DGS doing lately? How are you holding up?

Ginny I will say this about that bread. It was very easy to make and not a problem that way at all. I don't mind trying out some new things and have even found some keepers like Crockpot Pizza Soup. That was a real experiment for me because it just didn't sound like anything I'd like, but it had all the ingredients I like so I gave it a try. I wonder if my attraction for chigger bits could get me some work release. I am loaded again after cutting down some rather tall weeds in the day lily patch.

Enough out of me for today. (I'll be wearing out my keys again)

Will show my "Jackie" inspired idea later.

Hi Y'all. Work is winding down...and this week should go quickly. Thursday is the last day of school and the jr high I work at is having a bbq for the kids.....on the last stinkin' day of school. But, we will be so busy that the day will fly , then.....freedom SWEET freedom!!

We are finally getting some sunshine today. Rained this morning but now it's partly sunny and heating up. Will be in the 80's by thursday.

That baby nursery is an absolute dream!!! I wanna sleep there.

Today my gr son graduated from elementary school to middle school. Awwww, my little baby is growing up fast. Too fast. He's such a sweety. DD borrowed my camera and I hope to have some good pics to show.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hmmmm, idea did I inspire???? I wanna know I wanna see!!!

Running around all day getting more stain, letting DD's dog out, yada, yada, yada and the sun was brutal!! Hot and humid isn't my kind of weather.

Roger, it was a beautiful weekend here in the NE. Guess we are getting some severe thunderstorms tonight that will bring some hot and humid weather. Oh well, it is almost summer.

Vietnamese food is pretty good but I just love Thai food. There is a really good little place in Missoula that I am looking forward to pigging out at in Sept. Yummm.

Ginny, hope your roast comes out alright. We only do London Broils on the grill and haven't tried any other cuts of beef..Just STEAK. Let us know what kind it was and how it turned out.

LDL is affected by smoking but my ratios ( thanks to low carb) are excellent. HDL 98 and triglycerides are 58 this check.

Loretta, congratulations on being two lbs under goal.
LOL I started using a slice of Heidelberg whole grain bread several times a week for breakfast and haven't been bothered by a weight increase either. Love that stuff because it only contains the grain, yeast and water. No hydrogenated oils or soy. Do you have it in your area? One slice is about 17 carbs.

Been taking that vit B 5 off and on for about two years, when I think of it. I'm getting sick and tired of swallowing a handful of pills every day, sheesh, although I faithfully take my multi vit, fish oil and calcium.

Hope Julie is enjoying her camping trip.

Shawnee, Kick me in the butt will ya? I still haven't made that bread even though it looks very easy. Maybe tomorrow after work.

Speaking of work, grrrrr. I really, really don't want to go in there anymore but will TRY to hang on until Aug.

Hi to Susan, Jackie and lurkers.

My "Jackie" inspired creation. I had this old rocking chair just sitting around empty. Jackie with her wheel barrow and jug inspired me to do something with what I had on hand.
Thanks Jackie.

Lovely, Loretta

Makes me wanna kick off my shoes and stay a spell...

I agree 110% with ya, do whatever makes ya happy with the bread thing. Guess I just love a baking challenge

Now, close your eyes again !

This is the bread that Jacki is chomping on, today's latest revised creation:

Maintenance NUKER BREAD

This recipe is a double amount, and I used two 5" x 5" square plastic foodsaver bowls. Makes 4 slices.

2 TBLS melted butter
3 TBLS yogurt
1/4 tsp salt
2 lg eggs
1/4 Cup water
2 TBLS flaxmeal
3 TBLS almond flour
2 TBLS whole wheat flour
3 TBLS vital wheat gluten
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Splenda

Beat the eggs slightly before adding to the mixture, then divide into two 5 x 5 square bowls. Nuke for a about 90 seconds.

.........................

Ginny! Bob is out riding the mower, and I'm in here typing...its a MIRACLE!

Loretta, the problem with being a Jill of all Trades: once ya demonstrate you can do it, it becomes YOUR job. Sometimes I wish I had pretended to be a helpless piece of fluff when I first met Bob

more later, time to get busy.

Hello a quick check in for me!

Glad you liked the nursery pics. So glad that you could all open them. Thank you ALL for permitting me this indulgence!

DD is getting pretty large out front and tired on her pins. We were out at the Malls this aft and into the early evening. I dont know how she does it. We are down to the home stretch now, so to speak, only 3 weeks to go to the due date.

Thank you all for participating in the cyber pool!

Waiting on a pic of that TOOTH Poor lil doll, cutting a tooth while she had the other illnesses going on!

If we're nice to Jacki the Inspirer (Inspirationalist?), maybe she'll give us a pic of her two new roses...(they make mine look haggard!)...and a wonderful, huge Datura that's awe-inspiring for sure.
Jacki, I enjoyed the trade of bread for getting in good PupTime with Star...in fact, I got the better deal

SuSUN, your rice pudding is YUM We are almost as anxious as you are for the BIG DAY. Good to hear your DD has the energy to walk so much.

Montana, consider your butt properly kicked
We will soon be having 90s for highs...hope we ease into it, after all this coolness.
Pills are a pain...I have to take my Hypo Amour hours away from food and Calcium, to get the full benefit of it.

Zip, did the sauna do the trick? Bet Phonecia would enjoy it too

Ginny, how was the roast on the grill? Did it get the Pups sniffin' the air?

later
