SUNDAY June13 Vintage Maintainers

Hi Y'all

Went to Pile-up (Puyallup) Fri. morn....Son was hosting a wedding reception. Got home yesterday evening, but too exhausted, mentally and physically, to post.

Geez, lots of BB catching up to do....and will, later on.

Have a Memorial to attend at 1 PM for Bob's friend (died of surgery complications).

Have a good Sunday, y'all.

Hi to all

Glad to hear that you had a safe trip to and back from Puyallup Shawnee. Bet you enjoyed that visit with DS. Hope he was not too tied up with the wedding reception. DId you all attend the wedding reception also?

Quiet rainy, stormy day here today. Another dinner at church today, this to welcome our new pastor. Last weeks was to send our old pastor off to another parish. The pastors get changed around about every 7 years. Guess the bishop does not want them to get too attached to one group or for a group to get tired of them. Some welcome the change and others dread it. I liked our priest that left and I like the new one so far too.

Zip did you get your new catalog from the Puritans. Time for me to order up. I wonder if I wait a little while they will email another coupon with $$$ off or free shipping.

Hope all are enjoying this day of rest. Do some of that, why don't ccha.

later

Yes Julie it is lecithin and also pantothenic acid (vit b 5). My last LDL was 163 but my triglycerides were 58. My HDL is always high, the last one was 129 making my ratio 2.35. Acceptable for me. I had been doing some higher fats before that blood work was drawn. I have since lowered my fats.

Shawnee, tell us about the wedding reception if you did go to it.
Sorry about Bob's friend How tragic.

Loretta, hope that new priest is as good as your last one. Change is difficult but at times, necessary.
I'll be interested to know what your next lipid panel numbers are after lowering the fats.

Julie, I too take pantothenic acid but my LDL is 138. Not too bad considering what it used to be. Did you look into the test to have the LDL broken down? Remember that LDL has both good and bad components.

Have a fun camping trip.

Ginny, on the new spikes in the gh. Enjoy your day gagging lollies.

Nice dinner with our moms but I need a nap. Woke too early this am.

Later.

Hi Y'all

Here's the funny part re the Reception:
A month ago, we rec'd the invite to it from the "couple"...hehee, they decided to go Legit after 10 years of co-hab.
Anyhoo...since they are close friends of my son, I called him and asked if he was going, and if we could stay with him if we came up for it.
He asked if we hadn't noticed the Reception address: Heeheee, HE was hosting their shindig at HIS house ...so he said yes, he'd better attend it. (Huge house, great view.)
So we went early to help with the prep work.

Tho the actual wedding was tiny in a mansion, there were tuxes and a gown...the reception was informal and potluck. About 70 people, enough food and booze for half of Seattle. Partying for 6 hours.
Thankfully we knew a lot of the group there, and it was laid back.
However, since we are self-made hermits, it was a loooong party.

The Memorial today was only a trifle sad at times, we celebrated his LIFE at the Eagles Club. We will all go out to the Columbia to scatter his ashes where he loved to fish.

Ginny, HOW do ya do that? When our mower runs, its ME running it, and Bob is watching TV ! I obviously need lessons!
YAY on the new spikes!

Montana, my LDL went from 105 to 89
Glad ya got in that Dinner with the Moms.

Julie, enjoy that trip, great country there. Did you plant Tomatoes?
Mine are tiny!!!!..pea-size..BooHoo!

Oh, Loretta...bless your good Sam heart...you tried it, and found it wanting...sorry! Too bad it was billed as a burger bun...better to call it a flax bun, period. I love it, but more for its "bread" appeal. Flax is just plain heavy, and will never come close in texture and taste to commercial wheatflour buns.

SuSUN, WOW on those new Nursery pics...gorgeous! Thanks.
Oh, BTW...I thought I'd picked July 3rd.
I saw others mention their Dbrats' birthweights...
first, DD was 8-12, DS was 10-1. (and I was SKINNY then..LOL )

Hey Zip... did I miss something re the QE2 ?

OK, Loretta...now's the time to remember the Warning, don't look..

I made a new variety of Nuker Bread today

Made it with WW, gluten, and almond meal...in a 5" square plastic foodsaver. Here it is before being sliced into (each slice is 1/2 thick)...GAWD, I love this instant bread idea.

Here I am late but here all the same!

It has been a gorgeous day up here today! A tad muggy this aft, so the A/C kicked in!

Dabbled in a few different projects, felt productive even though nothing particular got done.

Had Grilled Salmon with ample garlic, steamed brocolli with butter for supper. Feel stuffed and very satisfied. What a tasty way to live.

Shawnee,
Wow, ya had well-nourished babies! Good for YOU!
That instant bread looks good enough to eat!
Thank you glad you liked the nursery pics.
I have your date recorded now at July 3rd. DSIL has that date too.
What a "different" style wedding as long as the couple in question enjoyed it thats the main thing!
So sorry to hear of your DH's friend.

Linda,
You sound all done in! Hope that you had a good nap after the dinner with the Moms. Did you make the trifle?
All this talk on LDL's had me looking for my last results, do you know I cant find them. How long do they keep the BB. I posted the converted figures on at that time.

Julie,
Ya sure got me looking for my last cholesterol work.
Loretta has a great recipe for lowering LDL's she shared it with me last year. It includes garlic to lower the LDL's, Lethicin, Vit B, flax seed, psyllium, she will fill you in on her great recipe.

Ginny,
Surprize Spikes in the GH, sounds delightful!
Being the Urban Gal, spikes are on golf shoes to me! LOL!
I remember having to memorize a poem at school called. "A sprig of Green" and as the poem unfolding it was a spike coming out of the warm soil. Nature is miraculous eh?

Loretta,
You have worked hard at bringing your lipids down. Great results.
I am so thankful that you shared your winning recipe with me last year. Now if I could only find my last bloodwork results.
How is Leah these days? Is she over the infection yet? Bless her.

Roger,
MIA? "puter okay?

Up a bit late for me gotta get some shut eye!

Shawnee, guess your son couldn't get out of going to that wingding, eh? It sounds like great fun for those who love to socialize. LOL we are self made hermits too.

My goodness your babies were BIG. My dd was the largest at 8-13 and my smallest was my last son at 8-1. We small gals can sure make them big.

Oh yeah, brag about that great LDL smoker here so what can I expect?

How fitting that your friend's ashes will be scattered in his favorite spot.

Drool, that nuker bread looks WONDERFUL!

Me thinks that Roger has a lot to do in that wonderful NYC. Can you just imagine living there?

Susan, OK put me down for June 27th.

Did a quick search for our old posts and they go back at least two years. Didn't have time to look for your results though. Maybe tomorrow.

Lovely nursery. Thanks for the pictures. Boy that little one will live in luxury.

Gotta get this tired old butt to bed. See you all tomorrow.
