My goodness, am I the first one up today? Been doing a lot of computer maintenance and updates to security things.

Julie, give yogurt making a try. It's not difficult at all. Just get out your candy thermometer and have at it.

Shawnee, You are right. Deck pots are portable so I best get going and finish planting.

Loretta, are you going to have a bit of a break or do you have more company coming?

Roger, What's up with you today?

Ginny, Barb, Susan and lurkers....waving at you all.

Back later

Hi Linda, and all my Maintaining Friends...

A dreary drizzle today. I'm staying home while Bob does a big Broadway day: Ushering at 1:PM for I forget what. THen a HUGE annual party for Broaway.com (from his allthatchat board) involving dinner/drinks/performances.....THEN an evening at the NYCity Ballet at Lincoln Center.
Dear Lord, the man is 16 years my senior! WHERE does he get that energy...I'd be comatose by mid-ballet (but put him in front of a TV and it's "GoodNight Gracie!"

I was the big poker winner yesterday and I ate too much red licorice!...win some and lose some.

An old friend said I looked different. He said I'd either lost some weight or gained some muscle. I could have kissed him...and DID!
He and his partner of 3 years have decided to tie the knot and are trying to combine apartments (If they can survive this, they can survive ANYTHING..."No, you throw YOURS out!")...
Saving $1200 a month is never a bad goal though.
If rents and co-op and condominium prices keep going up look for large apartments inhabited with loving groups of 15 or so! ("Go away, I had YOU YESTERDAY!")

Kicking back for some cozy TV...much on tape!
I bought Shredded Beef Chimichangas for din-din later, with sour cream if it isn't spoiled (salsa is smarter?)....ahhh, PEACE!

Hi Y'all

Rainy day here too. Went to the Farmer's Mkt before the serious drops hit. Gorgeous produce available now...so I availed myself of some.

Hi Jacki...passed your house, you had a shovel in hand and serious gardening in mind

Zip....Congrats on the poker winnings
About the red licorice...ummm... Bob's Dr told him NO MORE of it, it spikes BP.
Your Bob must have some super-stamina to put in a FULL day like that. ( I want some of what he's having ...he's awesome

Montana, my Bob (the Finn) tried the Homemade Yoggie...said it reminded him of his Gramma's Viili....pronounced "feelia"...He couldn't remember how it was made, since Gramma died when he was quite young.

So...off to Google up info on it...LOVE finding out new things

Fun stuff to preuse re Viili : (Finnish yoggie)

Currently have the second batch of yoggie in the oven...may have to beat Bob off with a stick

Here's the pics I tried to post yesterday...PhotoIsland is being kinder today

Sunshine here in Ky with some clouds. We could use some rain.

Zip I hear you on the people sharing to help pay the rent. Not sure just how my single son does it. He has a large mortgage with no help. Good to hear that you were on the winning end of the poker hands. That red licorice is just not good for you. Quit that.

Shawnee the pics are beautiful. I can almost smell the roses. Thanks for the eye candy. I never could access the ones you posted yesterday. Thanks for the web sites on the "feelia", interesting stuffl. Glad or not so glad that Bob likes the yogurt, less for you. Does it keep for a while?

Linda, DH promised that when his son calls he is going to find out about the invites he is extending to other relatives. I welcome DH's support on this matter. My oldest son will be visiting that week also. I think that one day I will just go to visit the other son in Indiana, where my oldest will be staying for a day or two. The son there has a nice inground pool also. I will look forward to my escape day. Are you on the retirement day countdown? I saved my last check. It was for $4.91 after deductions. I have it framed along with my nurses pin and hospital ID badge.

I love the speed with my more memory on the pc. I am also trying to learn how to crochet. Grandma Moses did not start painting until she was 70 yrs old. I am hopeful.

Later folks,
Loretta

Hi all. Cloudy and rainy today.

Carol, you drove by just before I headed out back to give my veg garden a first till. The ground stays so wet out there. It needed to be tilled so it can dry out for more tilling. That was my brother in the yard with me.

Roy and I went to Costco today then stopped at an out of the way tiny 'Betty's Garden' that we saw a sign for on the highway. Little place with only one greenhouse. We did buy a couple things, one being this fuschia. Very pretty:

Hi to all and I'll check back later. Have to put groceries away.

Hey everyone,

Had a nice, relaxing day today. Met the new neighbors who will be opeining the store, and they seem to be really decent people. The good news is they will not be selling beer, so we won't have to pick up THAT trash from our yard for the next 39475 years. Now I'm just being lazy!

Tomorrow will have us planting the couple shrubs we needed to complete the dog's 'blind' facing the road. Of course, they are little so it will take a couple years for the really good effect (and less barking at the store activity) but we get to enjoy watching everything grow. Also got a few more plants to set in. Just when you think you're done.....

Zip, I'd rather have a day home than go do all that running! A friend called to see if we wanted to go to the movies today for the new Harry Potter movie. I don't do movie theaters anymore! I'll be completely happy to see it on video AT HOME!

Loretta, glad your DH is supportive of minimizing the self invited visitors! I like having company come too, but enjoy just the house to ourselves. Rumors of rain soon for us, hope you get the needed moisture too!

Linda, glad you've finally decided to retire for good! You'll be much happier not having to go in to work I think.

Shawnee, love the pics! Roses just don't do for us, don't know why, but maybe they need more care than we are willing to give them. I still enjoy them tho...now where's the scratch-n-sniff button for my screen!?

Jacki, those fuscias are so pretty! Make great hanging baskets on the porch! We've only tried one of them in the years past, but that was when I was still in the habit of killing plants This year we went with dipladenias for hanging baskets. Will be interesting to see how they overwinter in the gh.

Julie, Susan, Barb and all, have a great weekend! Off to lurk and then chat with DSisIL

Shawnee, Double Delight is my favorite rose and have 2 bushes. Thanks for the pics. One of these days I'll get some of my own taken.

Roger, I'm with you. I have no, absolutely no stamina. Where does Bob get it? You must feed him right and make him a happy camper!!

Linda, are you sure that yogurt is really that easy?? You gave me the recipe once but not sure if I still have it. I love yogurt too. Can someone give it to me and I'll give it a try.

Jacki, loved your fuschia. I have a pink one in the front of the house and a red/white one in the back.

Loretta, sure do miss your posts so was happy to see you here.
Good luck with the crocheting. I knit but gave up trying the crocheting. All fingers!! Knitting I throw the yarn and can't do that with crochet. I think it's much prettier stuff though.

Ginny, NOT selling beer??? How does that happen? It's sold in every one of our stores. Good for you though. Enjoy your nice relaxing day.

Went to the mariner's game today and they won so I'm a happy camper. It only rained a little but they did have to close the stadium roof. Boo hoo!! It was warm and muggy. Maybe hit 70.

DGS is doing great and working lots. Grumpy in the morning but hey, lots of people are. Good mood when he gets home from work. I'm doing very good this past week. I need to learn to handle things better too.

Have a good night....
