VINTAGE MAINTAINERS on a Ruby Tuesday
Hi everybody,
Continued damp, cool and dreary through tomorrow here...ugly weather for everybody but Phonecia who's blooming up a storm. Nothing in the cards... for today. That usually means ShopRite. I think I'll try something different for dinner tonight...God knows what. Not that most here would ever try anything quite so carby but me....but NEVER buy a Boston Market Pot Pie...HUGE, empty pile of pastry with a JILLION calories and virtually no meat and the few teeny pieces that ARE there are textured like a warm football.....ecccch! I'm going to ask for a refund: are any of their products worth buying if they send me a couple coupons. Chuck isa WAAAY to skinny...142 pounds with legs like toothpicks. That surgery kicked the slats out from under him. Susan, Here's a photo resizer that seems easy and is free for 30 days and then for sale at $10 (one time charge) if you like it. Why not download it? Trying it is the best way to see if it's handy to manage. http://www.showyourphotos.com/photo_resizer_pro.html Jacki, Such a pretty yard! Julie, I hope your mood is brightening. Off to the daily wars!

Running in really quick to say hi to everyone and then off to work for a few hrs.
Roger, Hopefully Chuck feels better than he looks. I think that surgery would kick the slats out from under anyone. My aunt in NC just loves Boston Market stuff, especially the meat loaf, but I have never had any since we don't have one in this area. Have a great day gang. More later. |

Hi again
Oh before I forget. Shawnee the Victoria cake is quite something and can be used as a base for shortcakes and can be "altered" with different extracts for some really great treats. It almost has the taste and texture of a great but carby Greek cake that I used to make years ago that was made with ground walnuts, farina and had a honey syrup poured over it. YUMMM. Did Ginny just streak through here? Guess our gal is really busy.Susan, Which version of Windows do you run? There may be a lot of help for things on the Microsoft site. Loved the pictures of that nursery. Boy that baby is going to be a little princess. Loretta, hope you can check in soon. We really miss you. Barb, you too. Hope you are enjoying your vacation and visit with your mom. Julie, get in here and talk to us. I know you are going through some rough times but that's why we are here. Wish the rest of the gang would check in too. I miss them. |

Hi Y'all
FINALLY, Summer arrived today...felt downright strange to be DRY and WARM ![]() We spent the morning repairing plumbing problems...GAWD, what a taken-for-granted THRILL to see water swirling down a sink drain... ![]() ![]() ![]() Yet another of Bob's friends has passed on. This one following complications of an abdominal aortic bypass three weeks earlier. He seemed to be doing fine, was here visiting several times....guess infection set in, and .........well, the only positive spin I can put on it: he was a proud Navy Vet, and he "picked" the right weekend (Memorial) for the event. As the Indians say: "Its a good day to die." Remember I mentioned mixing business with pleasure while doing graves; this pic is of an ol country cemetery overlooking Silver Lake ...its on the Spirit Lake Hwy towards Mt St Helens. My friends in this cemetery have plots with a view ![]() We drove down to the lake and fished a bit later...got rained out, but at least got to wet a line. Zip, glad that Phonecia offers a bright spot in your gloomy day. Jacki, thanks for the super pics of your plants....gonna show the planted wheelbarrow next? Will be glad to see Loretta pop back in here. SuSUN, the baby furniture is just adorable. Montana, glad to see you are experimenting. That basic cake recipe is kinda similar to the ol Almond Pound Cake. Ginny, how are the new plants doing? Julie, hope things are improving on the home front. Hey Barb...enjoy yourself! Here's a cute and easy lil recipe...(Thanks to an Unknown Author.) SuSUN, these would be fun to serve at our Tea Party. .................................................. ......... Cream Cheese Tarts 1/2 lb cream cheese -- 250g softened 1/4 cup Splenda 1 egg 1/2 tsp vanilla Oil minature cupcake tins or use butter. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy; gradually add sugar and mix well. Add egg and vanilla, beating well. Fill minature cupcake tins and bake at 350°F-180°Cor 10- 15 minutes. Cool and decorate with strawberries or other berries or fruit. Using a brush, glaze the fresh fruit with sugar-free strawberry jam or jelly that has been "melted" in a saucepan with about 1 teaspoon of water. recipe easily doubles ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 06-01-2004 at 09:23 PM. |
