SUNDAY'S VINTAGE MAINTAINERS
Hi everybody,
No bike yesterday....it stayed too cool and windy. Well, did the Cinema last night. Started with TROY...we lasted 1/2 hour and that was truly enough: a BIG, GALUMPHING, EXPENSIVE pot of schitte. Brad Pitt ain't no Achilles and the writers certainly never got any closer to Homer than Mr. Simpson. We snuck into one of the three DAY AFTER TOMORROW's...Bob got the wrong one...smack dab in the middle. I found the special effects somewhat fun but the story line preposterous. Stayed til the end....THEN snuck into yet another show (there are 11 cinemas) which was just starting. First half is a delight of special effects with fatal basketball sized hail in Tokyo, 5 tornados simultaneously demolishing LA and then rain in NYC....and RAIN...and RAIN....and then a tidal wave with busses and cabs being surfboarded up Fifth Avenue and then ICE! Good fun....but preposterous science. Best touch was an arrogant Vice President who was running the show (badly) and a president who seemed only vaguely aware of the day of the week.....sound familiar? Well I guess that's called A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES!!!!!!! Linda, Thanks for the list of shoulder surgeons <he said nervously>. Now to see who takes Oxford...and who looks GENTLE! ![]() After a crystalline night (stars over NYC are rare) we have a crisp lovely day: sparkling clear, but a bit nippy. Fine, unless you're at the beach ![]() Enjoy the ribs and steaks, all you picnickers!

Good morning Roger.
Hopefully one of those Drs. will accept your health plan and be very gentle with your poor shoulder. My daughter wants me to go with her to see The Day After Tomorrow, but I just don't like movie theaters and haven't read anything good about it. Does it seem to you that the sound is far too loud? Maybe I'll reconsider when the crowds thin out later this month. Cool and crisp here too but I don't mind. I absolutely hate heat and humidity. I'm off to do a few things but will return later. Waving to everyone. Later |

Linda,
Crowds were NUTS for DAY AFTER; first theater we had to sit apart; second we were in the FIFTH row. Sound wasn't blasting for me but it often is and I always carry earplugs just in case. DO go, it's really a fun movie. Weather has turned glorious so dinner out and theater sounds inviting. Went to ShopRite this morning and I finished 2 haircuts. Susun, No the ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING has nothing to do with AB-FAB (but what a GREAT idea for a musical!!!) rather it deals with three women who do stand-up comedy and sing. The show ran to great acclaim in London for quite a while! |

Julie, feel better soon, pleeeeeezze!Roger, DS is going on a bike ride tomorrow with a friend. It was 95F down there today! Hope you get that shoulder sorted! Gotta keep plugging away at those Drs. Too bad about Brad! I don't fancy 3 hours of that. DH will never sit that long in the theatre, so have to wait for the video and view it over two nights!Linda, Sounds like a Mother and daughter night out! DD can't sit for that long right now but she would love to see Brad. They were sitting out most of the day by their newly opened pool, she got in and of course could not swim, the baby is like a lead weight in her belly. She sat by the jets to relieve her aches and pains. She had the temperature up to 90F today. I am planning to have a dip on my days off this week. Wavin to y'all! Working Mon and Wed ONLY this week. Yippppppeeeeee! SuSUN Last edited by SuSUN : 05-30-2004 at 07:54 PM. |

Hey everyone
Spent a gorgeous day outside 'playing' in the yard. DH does all the heavy work i.e. tiller, digging etc. I'm just out there for moral support, gofers and light duty We got 5 euynomous (sp) put in and a very nice row of hostas, all fronting the fence to the dog's yard. This will eventually form a blind as high as the fence and will keep the unnecessary barking to a minimum. Trust me, when the store opens, there will be barking at all the activity Zip, I haven't been to a movie house in YEARS. Don't particularly care to go cuz they won't put it on pause if I have to go potty and the food is too ex$pen$ive! Susan, by now you should have your DH back safe and sound! Have a great rest of the weekend Julie, hope all is manageable soon for you! Linda, we were in the mid 80's today with a very nice breeze. Even got rained on a bit earlier in the day, but it cleared off to drop dead gorgeous! Loretta, Shawnee, Jacki, Barb and all, hope you have a great rest of our long weekend!
