Hi gang (or those left home),

Chilly this morning with LR window left wide open overnight and temp into the 50's. Well at least it's nice clean Canadian air....smells good!

When anyone sends you a file of any kind, just right click it and choose PROPERTIES. The file size is listed in k (or kb) as in 500k (or 500 kb)...
That is the size in kilobytes. I have about the fastest dial up connection possible and it takes about 5 minutes to download a megabyte, so a file that is 500k will take 2.5 minutes at the fastest....many people's dial-ups are MUCH slower than this....
So, as a general rule, figure that any picture really should be less than 200kb unless you know the person receiving it has a high speed line (either cable, T1, or DSL). I'll scout around for a small, free program for you to quickly resize for mail...give me some time.

Wow, Thank YOU so much for all that information. I really do want to get this stuff down pat. There always seems to be an enormous amount of data to absorb daily that I just can't focus on everything.

I have copied and pasted your instructions and saved to my Computer Tips file.
