Wednesday VM

Good morning,

Lost post by hitting the Control key
So short today..

What a worm (mine) can do. OK, to get online I must pull the old ISP software and reload it. Checked Norton, several of it;s functions were turned off overnight. System Restore has had all it's past restorations erased and I have HISTORY set for 2 days, but yestreday's was removed. It's crawling through my hard drive and chewing up piece by piece.
Now that I'm resigned to the Reformat, it's kind of amusing.

Workmen coming for a couple apartment chores this afternoon, so I'll bang out the gym this morning and REFORMAT C: s,v, (and D:,E:,F: this afternoon. Reminds me of an evil PRIKK in AOL tech chat years ago who would tell Newbies who had a problem to boot from the floppy and type RECORMAT C:....can you imagine anyone so evil (outside the administration that is).

Jacki,
Romeo is GREAT....reminds me most of a Chinese Eggplant. Phonecia's first opening flower says hi. (Good timing, Vicki is nuts for orchids.)

Ginny,
Good for you on the formats. This is only my third with WinME so it's not too bad. (And first was caused by Dell's shipping me a defective hard drive)

Nice day all...

Susun,
I'm amazed that tou were able to Avatar in the slightly different ratio?

Awww, Julie, I'm so sorry you don't have luck with your orchids. Sometimes you never find what they need.
I had the same problem with African Viotets in my old steam heated joint with bright Eastern exposure. The plants LIVED but would never bloom...I sputtered and fumed and tried EVERYTHING. THIS icebox with No sun at all produce Violet blooms almost copntinuaously til the plant dies of exhaustion after 2 years and a gazillion flowers....go figger!

Did the reformat, and the reload of Windows ....now the UPDATES, sheesh to EVERYTHING including an old Outlook Express and old Internet Express 5....and NORTON Securtity....
Well I;ll take one load and go back to the TV til it's done....gee, even my MONITOR has it's own software...and soundcard, and printers and scanner, and...and...and...!
BlueLight's latest version runs just fine now!

Ohhhh! Our mayor dropped dead today and they don't know who's supposed to suceed him....being it's Jersey City, it's probably Tony Soprano!
(Watch your fats, he was a young man!)

Just running in now really quick but will be back later.

Roger, glad that reformat is almost done and your Blue Light Special works well now.

One of these days I'll have to do that but am frightened to death. Did it once when this computer was only a week old but with the help of Dell Tech support. It took 6 hrs and I had to type in some Dos commands on a black screen that came up. I don't have a clue how to do that now.

Sorry about the loss of your young mayor. Heart attack?

Julie, glad you and your DGS are doing well. Hopefully he will continue to get his head on straight. Is he in treatment/counseling?
Don't be such a stranger here, OK?

Where is everyone else today?

Zip, I have a zillion blooms on my African Violets. I do good with them and they sit right next to my orkids. Maybe THATS the problem!

Linda, he's not in rehab yet. He sees the attorney tomorrrow and his court date will be July 8th. Will have to wait and see what they say and what his sentence will be.

Good afternoon/evening

Good luck with all of your plants -- I do have some outside this summer but not really an indoor plant owner!!

Zip -- watch your fats? How young was he and was it heart? I think that if someone dies that young that there isn't much one could have done. as my mother says; we are all going to die - some sooner than others.

Linda, working this week? I bet you are looking forward to your free time -- what will you do with retirement?

Later, Barb

Hi Ya!

A quick hello before bed. I had work today, tomorrow and Friday. So three days this week! Will I survive?

Thank YOU for the compliments on my Avatar but I did not do it at all. I just sent to pic to Cheri and she did it all, my name change too.

Roger,
Sorry I can't take the claim for the slightly different ratio. Not sure what that is? I guess it needs cropping? I am not complaining it was done for me!

Waving to Ya'll!

SuSUN!

Barb, I agree with your mom completely. Life is a crap shoot. I know a few people who stayed thin, exercised all the time and never ate fat who dropped dead at a young age. Personally I think the most harmful fats are hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated, not the natural fats like olive oil, butter and animal fat since I see what they did for my blood lipids.please don't hit me Roger

No work this week because of jury duty. I took the entire week off for the hell of it. LOL I was going to work through the summer and not go back after our Montana trip but now I'm thinking I may ditch it after our trip in June.
What will I do?? any damned thing I want.

Julie, keep us posted on your DGS. Our thoughts will be with him and you.

Been looking on line for 55 + rental property or condos for sale. We are sick and tired of maintaining this place. Ideally a motor home and condo or rental would be great. LOL the best of both worlds.

Glad you have that week Linda!!!!

I am BLOODY EXHAUSTED...I have been taking critical UPDATES for the last 5 hours....23 for Windows alone and a reboot almost after every one and then resign on and get another....OHHH. The Norton had nearly as many.

Ginny, that 4 year old WinMe disc is really OLD OLD OLD.....Pray you don't need to do another format.

I've done all I'll do today and have Windows, IE, OE all running and protected, Favorites back in... Rest will be little by little.

Bob came back from a show called HEAVENLY....he said it was hateful!

Hi Y'all

Nothing exciting to report.

ZIp, on Cheri's Thread re Avatar size, there's a quote from Tom
that says "90 x 90 or similar".....so size is not carved in stone.

Montana, I know this too well:
"Life is a crap shoot. I know a few people who stayed thin, exercised all the time and never ate fat who dropped dead at a young age."
DD was 36, 120 lbs of lean muscle at 5'4". Excercized, ate low fat, watched calories...picture of health til she collapsed and died.
Her condition (mitral valve prolapse-"floppy heart valve") was apparently much worse than her Drs suspected.

On the other hand, my dear ol Dad and MIL too did everything wrong healthwise and both lived to 86...and both were "me, me, me" selfish people, while my DD over-extended herself to be the opposite.
No one can say Life is Fair, it just is what it is.

Barb, enjoy your getaway

Loretta, if you peek in: Hope y'all are having a wonderful time.

Goddess, I know you are chasing your own tail. Hope life on the homefront and at work is good.

SuSUN, you have your own COUNTDOWN going on. Put me down for $5 on July 3

Julie, good luck with your GS. Montana gave ya excellent advice.

Jacki, we MAY have good weather for the weekend

We will be doing a lot of running around for the next several days, so will pop in as I can.

Look for that Silver Lining.

Shawnee

Linda and Shawnee,

I know you guy's are just trying to be nice and helpful but my DGS is 18 years old. I'm assuming he has to wait for the courts to make a decision on his care when he's sentenced. I have no authority to do anything. He will talk to the attorney tomorrow. I can give him a place to live in the meantime. ....And love him and support him in.
