Vintage Maintainers, Tuesday, 5/25
Hi buddies,
Linda, Oh SURE I'll try cicadas...you know me. Vicki's a shapely 5'2", 95 pound wonder who eats a diet that is 94% carb, 5% protein and <1 gram fat...for real, and she's gotten even worse because the last 5 years she's also completely off dairy. She's eaten no fat for 25 years and has never gone above 100 lbs. I'll bet after she eats the pound of pasta she pulls out an Entenmann's no-fat cake FOR HERSELF (they're really awful!) She lives on a diet of wheat! I think Loretta has a steady stream of company if my memory serves. They are Grand Opening the next leg of the WATERFRONT WALKWAY on Thursday with free snacks...it will be nice that we are finally connected to the next complex...makes biking easier. EVENTUALLY it will run 25 miles and is 25 feet wide. This weeks connection will give us about 2 miles without impediment. Hoboken has another 2 miles done but there's a half mile gap that will be slow to completion.Weight down, muscles up but shoulder is screaming...I'm using the paint roller several times a day but I think an arthroscope is in the cards for this 35 year old skiing injury. A GORGEOUS day today, 70's and sunny! Susan, Congrats on getting the avatars all worked out...I think I'll try to resize one. I always make a pig's breakfast of it. Gym, shopping, theater and quickie Japanese rice bowl out (42nd Street). Nice day all.

Hi Roger and gang,
Take care of that shoulder ASAP. Gosh I don't know how Vickie does that but if it works, what the hell. Let me know how those Cicadas taste. LOL I could, if I had a drink or two, try them, although I didn't try the Rocky Mt. Oysters at the Testy Fest in Montana a few years ago. Boy they did smell delicious though. Oh yes, Loretta did mention a steady stream of company. LOL I have a good memory but it's short Hope she is having fun.Julie, hope all is well with your DGS and he is going to get the necessary treatment. Boy, kids just don't realize what they are doing to their lives, do they? I'm off to let grand pup out and hit Wally world for some groceries. More later. A quick Hello Guys!
Had another glorious day off work! Walked the dogs with DD for an hour this morning. Helped her wash some of the new baby clothes this aft and some house chores. I am preparing my bag and box of stuff for the group in the morning. Loading up the car again, so still physically active! I LOVE my new Avatar, finally I caught up with the 21st Century. Some ones signature says, that "Even the Turtle finished the Race!" Cheri did it all for me. She is great!I changed my name too. Glad you all know me by this name too! Wavin to Y'all. SuSUN ![]() |

Got home today and the Dirty Man Plant is fully open!!! And a fine flower it is....took these pics. That flower is 23" long from bottom of the flower to the tip and 8" wide at it's widest. And I wish we had Smell O Puter. (flies are loving it) Anyway....here are pics. I think we should name this bulb....Romeo!!!! [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG] Hope everyone had a good day, if not...I hope tomorrow is better. Hugs |

Hi Y'all
Beautiful weather today. Kinda down, attended a funeral for Bob's friend of 30 years; a suicide. Too much pain, disability, and meds for too long, I guess. (RA) Zip, good luck with that shoulder. Too bad those old injuries come back to haunt us. Congrats on the improved muscles. Montana, hope your new Gbaby is doing well. I looked at several brands of Tapioca today...they are all carby...but bought some anyway. SuSUN. ya done good, Gal ! lil Oliver is a great choice for your avatar....and the name suits perfectly too. Jacki, great shots of Romeo, he's one sexy, stinky dude. I have some "cute as a button", literally button- size yellow squash coming on. To ALL...hope your tomorrow brings gobs of good stuff. Good evening all.....
Jacki -- 16 more days? Right now I have so much to do I wish I had 16 more days - NOT!! 3 more for me I love the picture, SuSAN!! I might catch up one of these days also! Zip, I don't like these people who can eat everything -- I'm just so jealous!! I guess I had to have had different parents!! Linda, how's your DD doing? I realize it takes time for recovery. At least you got her some professional help. Hi to everyone else -- enjoy !! |

Susan, guess your DD is in to the nesting part of her pregnancy. Good for her getting those baby clothes ready.
Jackie, so the count down is on, eh? You will get through it dear. OMG what a spectacular "Dirty Man" plant he is. Holy Cow!! Humm, wonder if he would survive or shrivel up in this zone 5 of the country. Shawnee, how sad that the poor man did that. It's so very hurtful to the survivors. My heart goes out to his family, but I do wish him eternal peace.I'll be off tomorrow to see Nicholas. Didn't want to bother them just yet. Mom called and asked me to visit anytime after 3PM when the girls get home. Guess the little guy isn't sleeping much at night yet so she naps during the day. I'm going to buy some tapioca too since I'm under goal and will try it. Gosh I love the stuff. Barb, 3 days left for you Where did the time go, eh? Well at least you can enjoy the summer off.DD is doing OK but is spending a fortune on doctors and meds. I just continue to hope for the best. Can't do much about it. Where is Julie? Hope she is doing OK with her DGS living there. It's got to be tough. Been reading lots of news on line and came across this. Not fun to think about, but we must. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004May25.html Off to look at real estate sites again. LOL now we are thinking of Condos or town houses as well as age restricted rentals. Getting sick and tired of too much maintenance around here. |

Hey gang,
Just popping in here quick before bed. Shawnee, hugs to you and Bob re the loss of his friend! Extended time on meds can do that to a person, and it's very hard for the survivors. My sympathies to y'all and his family. Jacki, WOW on the dirty old man plant! That's a gorgeous bloom, a shame tho that he's a stinky guy! How long will the bloom last and will there be more or is he a one-shot deal? What the heck, threaten him with viagra if he doesn't wanna bloom again LOL Barb, woohoo on your 3 days! SuSUN, love the avatar and name change! Makes it much more personal now huh? Zip, the paths sound really nice for you bike riders...that kind of stuff sure is necessary, especially in a city! Linda, I know what you mean about maintenance--never ending. When we find a little more land and have everything on it new, I'll sure be pleased! Julie, hope all is going smoothly. Hugs your way! Loretta, enjoy your company, check in when you can! Everyone have a good night, I'm off to bed!
