FRIDAY of the Vintage Maintainers
Hi everybody,
I'm AMAZED I'm first at this late hour. My ISP is driving me nuts and I think it's days are limited. It runs fine in it's old version but they bump in an auto-upgrate and the spit hits the fan. So I pull it out and reload the old one and I;m good for 24 hours. They want $1.95/minute for support---like THAT'S ever going to happen. Oh well, ISPS are a dime a dozen. My visits will be few for awhile til I get this spit settled. Enjoy the weekend all... Shawnee, that Victoria Cake looks DELICIOUS...I assume men have to wear a "Prince Albert" to eat it (don't ASK!!!) ![]()

Hi everyone,
Roger, Who is your ISP? $1.95 per min. for customer service is a tad bit high to say the least. Check out USA Data net. I think their monthly fee is $9.95 ( free support), and for an extra few bucks, you can get a faster dial up connection. We use them for our long distance service and love them. Shawnee, glad to see that you survived the limb removal but bummer on the forced breaks. I'm with you on getting a job DONE. Was going to make that Trifle today but as luck would have it, I have to treck across town and get my annual mammo. Forgot all about it until yesterday. We have a chance of thunderstorms every day for the next 5 days, so the deck stain project will have to wait. More later. |

HI to all
Shawnee got that cake done just in time. They are celebrating QUEEN VICTORIA'S BIRTHDAY this weekend. A holiday of sorts. Maybe this is who SuSUn's tea is for? Happy Celebration. Zip there are a lot of ISP's out there. You are pretty good at bargain hunting, I'm surprised you don't have the best and most reasonable one. (was gonna say cheapest) Just get on the hunt. My home page isp has changed their format and I am really upset with them also for having to reconstruct my page. I liked it the way it was. I have to reload all my favorites and still cannot figure that oneout. Linda hope all goes well on the mammogram. I am going to wait for my next one until my medicare kicks in. It will just have to wait a few months, it is due in Sept and Medicare should arrive by March. That and a bone scan. Sorry about all that rain in your forecast, we are drying out here. L8ter folks |

Hey gang,
Comedy of errors continues...I'm trying everything conceivable. Right now my connection is at 2400bps...can you IMAGINE how slow that is. I've had BlueLight.com for 5 years and never any trouble....also $9.95 but if this isn't fixed in a week it's Sayonara to them and I'll pick another $9.95 gem. Loretta, that $14.95 gimmick is just that. What they do is drop lots of your information so pictures and print have fewer pixels...and it SHOWS! There is talk of Comcast Cable replacing our RCN microwave feed and it comes with a DANDY cable modem for $29.95/mo....but talk is often just talk. Back to the drawing boards. |

Hi Y'All!
It was a bright sunny day up here today! A tad cooler though. I had the dentist and hygenist this aft. My check-up all clear, cleaning, sand blastin and polish all done for 6 months now! Linda, Couldn't get in for a massage! They are booked for a week. I don't know what I am doing a week from now. So couldn't make an appointment. Yikes!!! YOU are lucky, that one you had sounds so tranquil with the music. The trifle recipe that Shawnee posted looks delicious. The sponge fingers in the old method would be soaked in sherry and brandy first. The the custard, fruit and cream would be layered and the final layer of whipped cream topped with large shavings of chocolate. A deep, dressy, glass dish is best, to show the layers and served with a large, silver, serving spoon. The sherry and fruit juices would settle in the bottom so everyone would want a spoonful of that! LOL! Loretta, Yep, YOU are right, it is Victoria Day on Monday up here! Not sure if Albert will make it? LOL! Roger, Please do tell what a Royal, Prince Albert is? Inquiring minds.....and all that want to know! LOL! Hope you get sorted with your ISP soon. I changed mine way back and still AOL pops in my top right hand corner, cant seem to remove it! Urrrgh! I know you told me so. Shawnee, I have not made the Victoria Sandwich yet? In the usual manner, they are dusted with confectioners sugar or fine granulated sugar It is served very plain but sure hits the spot! The jam and the cream see to that. I don't know if sprinkling splenda over the top would do the same trick or not. DH is having a good time, the weather down there is wonderful he said, spoke to him twice today! His soccer team are playing in the FA Cup tomorrow, so he has a ticket to see it in a British Pub via Satelite TV. DD is still planting in her garden today. She can't get enough of gardening. Nurturing in another way I guess. Wavin to Y'All! SuSUN Last edited by SuSUN : 05-21-2004 at 08:11 PM. |

Good evening -- I'm up later than usual!!
Going shopping tomorrow -- need more clothes for the summer. I still have two gift cards from Xmas - I'm such a conservative shopper. I look forever before I buy. Then, I find some reason why I should wait. It used to be that I was going to lose more weight -- now I don't have THAT excuse. Your PT gave massages - Linda!! How wonderful! I need to tell ours about that service. We did have the audiologist give hearing screenings -- and...... my DH is right - I can't hear him!! I do have a mild loss with high tones, she suggested that I tell people to look at me, not walk away and speak , or talk to me from the other room! I suppose I'll need a hearing aid if I live long enough or....... want to know what's going on. I do know that when I sit in the living room I don't hear the buzzer on the oven if the TV is on and everyone else hears it. I also have a difficult time with people who speak softly and don't move their lips! LOLOF COURSE I CAN HEAR ALL OF YOU VERY WELL!!!! Have been staying the same with weight - which is the first time that has happened. Maybe it just takes time to adjust to a goal. I also haven't eaten much more than I did before except for more fruit. I LOVE strawberries! Waving to everyone and check in tomorrow night!! Barb ![]()

Hi Y'all
I wanna sample the YUMMY stuff in the BOTTOM of the origional Trifle Bowl that SuSun described! SuSun, have Zip E Mail you his info on his "Don't Ask" thingy... ![]() Your DD is "nesting" in the Garden...gotta love Plants and Critters; they offer ya eternal parenthood ![]() Zip, its NOT that kind of Tea Party .....No "Show & Tell" stuff.Barb, enjoy your Clothes shopping trip...or as Montana calls it, "Retail Therapy" ![]() Loretta, I wish that the Mammo could be as easy as the Bone Scan. What's that new mammo imaging technique, that scans for "heat" spots? Are ya feeling any better? Have you seen Spot lately? Montana, hope your afternoon wasn't too bad. Geez, we have been having cool/cold weather here, but not too many T Boomers. There was a Tornado in Spokane today, and been having funnel clouds in N. WA. Hope your weather doesn't get too severe....gotta keep the power on to run that puter! ![]() Ginny, what's on your agenda for the weekend? When will you ever find time to ride? Jacki, sorry the forecast doesn't look so good for your weekend off. Good weather for Retail Therapy tho ![]() To all, have a great weekend.
