Hi kiddies,
Nice family pic, Susan, send them on to me. Loretta, I'm sorry I was right but I've just known so many people with the same cold and experienced it first-hand myself. Most who get it are off work for 2 weeks. Just rest and manage symptoms (menthol cough drops helped a lot.) We went to a nice birthday party in a strange part of town for me, Washington Heights (around the George Washington bridge. Wonderful old apartment buildings with big grand apartments with all the crown mouldings and chair rails and ornate cast iron radiators with oak floors. They served all 50's food (tuna casserole, ambrosia, molded Jello with fruit, Sloppy Joe's and 7 (count em...SEVEN) different cakes....AND marshmallow-rice crispie squares....a nice spread. Chuck just called with a high fever and a suppurating operation scar...he just went back into the hospital. I'll bet he got one of those damned hospital-only bugs that are tough as nails. I'll no more when he's admitted but I DO know they gave him no antibiotics for home care....a stupid mistake these days. Tonight we are joining a couple friends for a Japanese dinner and the Julliard Ballet and Orchestra...sounds fun.

Hi Y'all
Beautiful day here so far, possible T-Boomers later on. Loretta, SO sorry to hear the CRUD got worse. Bless your heart, sure hope ya get better soon. How's lil Leah doing? hehee, my dark hair is courtesy of a bottle. What time hath taken away, Ms Clairol giveth back. My au naturel now would be The Coat of Many Colors...grey, black, white, brown, silver...when its all willing to be silver/white, I may give up the bottle. Ginny, wish I'd been there to help with the Pup Roundup. I'd have gotten my quota of poochie smoocies, for sure ![]() Surprised that Shea weighs almost as much as Nitro....isn't she watching her girlish figure...is she still a girlie-girl, or a tomboy? SuSun, all your Tea Party prep work has paid off: the English roses are opening. ![]() About the cake...only found one recipe...does this look familiar? http://www.cookitsimply.com/desserts...wich-cake.html If so, I'll work out an LC version. Will cut the roses early in AM of the TEA DAY so they will be all fresh and dewy ![]() http://img59.photobucket.com/albums/...amisCastle.jpg http://img59.photobucket.com/albums/...eEglantyne.jpg Montana, I [almost] fished yesterday. After company cleared away, we went to a small lake....that had more fishermen than fish! So we went up the Kalama River...all spots on the banks were crowded..so we went farther...up to SIL's place on the river. There we enjoyed the company of relatives and drop-ins...never did wet a line, while on the bank of a superior fishing spot.... Some of our streams are still clean, but the Columbia and Willamette are nasty/gross/ polluted....sewage, chemicals, crud. How's that new baby??? Oh, that hair...my DS was born with headful of black hair like that...now at 38, he's 1/2 bald. Shoot, got to get busy. back later Shawnee |

Hi Guys!
Almost completed my masterpiece! What a challenge to me to write! Give me a group or a presentation any day!Glad I was able to get "into the zone" today. I needed some quiet time to comb it over, been trimming, cutting, re-inserting, then deleting. I will probably delete lots more before it is finally ready. Shawnee, That Victoria Sandwich is very familiar! I have eaten lots of that in my time with hot tea. Yuk, did ya see how much sugar! Never again! Hello Splenda. Did ya say you were working on a LC version? The delicate pink petals have me changing the china pattern! ![]() After cutting the roses, store them in the fridge with a light misting! Supposed to help them last longer. ??What a marvellous job you have done! I hope you like cream teas! No sugar laden milk here! Did you get the T-Boomers yet? Roger, That surgery scar sounds nasty. I hope that Chuck has a script now for antibiotics. Sounds like he needed them like yesterday! Wow! that was a quaint birthday party, "retro food," never heard of that! Good Idea though!Enjoy the Ballet and Dinner! Loretta, So sorry to hear about the N & V. Are you able to take gravol? It knocks me out! I take a 1/2 sometimes but then I am on my back and sleepy for hours. I am glad that you can manage to read, it sure passes the sick days by with a little fun! Thank you for posting the pics. Linda, I guess you are visiting Nicholas Peter. What a good birth weight. I guess some of that weight was his lovely locks of hair! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! Wavin to the rest of our gang! SuSUN ![]() |

Hello all...sorry I haven't been in since the weed wacker rant. hahaha
Still counting down the 'get up' days for the salt mines. 22 get ups to go. Yayyy Yayyyy Not much to say tonight nor time to say it. Eyelids are saying 'sleep sleep' but I just have to say this: Congratulations on that beautiful little baby boy. Zip, sorry your friend is having such a rough go of it!
Those classy old apartments are wonderful to snoop thru, huh? ![]() Ah, those yum-yum high carb casseroles, they sure were tastey! Enjoy your night out. Susan...so the color of the roses dictates the pattern of the china? ![]() We could use the ol' faithful almond pound cake recipe...just bake it in two 8" round pans for a little less time. (is it supposed to be round or square?) Sugar-free jam for filling. (Mixing the jam with soft cream cheese would be yummy) http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/recipes/recipe-cake01.html Glad ya got thru with your assignment; feel better now? Thanks for sending the pics, and thanks Loretta for posting them. Wonderful! ![]() Jacki, I see you're back to wearing shorts, wasn't it a nice afternoon? Glad those T-Boomers went around us. You saw me going to the store for eggs, wanted omelettes for dinner. Our homegrown Chives in them..HAHAA..have to add the "homegrown" to bug Montana. The get ups are shrinking! Montana, have ya caught up on sleep yet? What's your pretty DIL, she's beautifully dark....sure makes lovely babies ![]() Hey Barb...how's your "backside" after the Cowboy weekend? Hope it was lots of fun. later Shawnee |

Hi everyone.
Been running around all day and am totally pooped so I'm ditching work tomorrow and will go in just for a few hrs Wed. afternoon. Gotta quit that job soon. LOL sort of like the old country song .. " Take this Job and Shove It". Susan, your family is just lovely and your DD is radiant. Glad you got that "masterpiece" almost done. How about a little peek at it? Good heavens Loretta, I'm really sorry you got the nausea and vomiting with that nasty cold. Hope you feel better tomorrow. Knock on wood, none of that is around here just yet. Thanks for posting and resizing the picture for SuSun. It's lovely. Roger, thanks for the " Dr. Roger's liver flush recipe". When I work up the courage, I am definitely going to try it. I'm so very sorry about Chuck. WTH is wrong with his Dr. not prescribing an antibiotic after that major surgery? My God!! Wishing him a quick recovery. Poor man. Oh the Washington Hgts. area is lovely. Been there back in the 70's and 80's. Those apartments are quite lovely. Have you looked into moving there? Hope you enjoyed the Ballet. Our niece turned the school down and is going someplace else. LOL she feels she is better than they want. OY!!Hi Ginny, hope you get some rest. You sound very tired. So Jackie, did you finally get a new weed wacker? WE want details on model etc. Aww thanks for bringing the picture of my family to this thread. Shawnee, holy cow again on the recipes and your talent in that department. I'm drooling here. What a shame that you couldn't even wet a line, especially in your lovely area. Gosh I'm really surprised that you have the polluted rivers in your neck of the woods. Have you trucked over to Idaho and fished those rivers? Ha ha, maybe even I can grow some chives and other herbs without killing them. Ya think? ![]() DIL's mom was Greek and her dad is Jewish. LOL she is a Catholic now of all things. Go figure. Barb, how IS that backside? I'm off to bed. Have a good one gang. |
