Katie - Sorry to hear about your scare!! Hopefully the little man will hang out in there until at least 36 weeks!!

Tracy - Ugh, the BH contractions don't sound like fun at all! I'm glad I haven't gotten any of those suckers!! Oh, and no birth plan for me. I really don't have too much of a preference as to what happens, as long as I don't feel a whole lotta pain and the baby comes out healthy, so I never bothered to write one. I had a slight episiotomy with Mackenzie, so I assume they may do another slight snip.

Sarah - Happy 13 weeks!!!!!!!! Yay!!

Cynthia - Good to see you!! I'm sorry you aren't progressing! Hopefully the EPO will start to take effect!! Alexia is getting big!! Will they induce if you go too far past the due date, or will you go to 42 weeks before they do anything?

Sinnrah - WTG to Miss Emily for sleeping so well on Tuesday night!!!!!!! How proud you must be...and well rested, too!! LOL!

No progress at my appointment yesterday. My blood pressure is still slightly elevated, but still within the high/normal range so they aren't too concerned. It wasn't any higher than it was last week, so that's good. My urine looked fine, so no worries there with protein, etc...

My cervix seems to be softening some, but no signs of dilation. I did get some good news, though. The doctor is calling on Monday, the 17th to schedule me for induction on the week of the 24th. Monday she'll call me to let me know my induction date, and I'm VERY excited about that!! So, less than 2 weeks to go at this point, really, unless they schedule me for the 27th - and that means exactly 2 weeks to go! I know it won't be on the 28th b/c that is my doctor's surgery day, so I'm sure it'll be somewhere between the 24th and 27th.

I'm having a VERY hard time concentrating at work!!! Depending on what day they schedule my induction, next week could be my last work week. I'm going to take my leave and short term disability forms with me to my next appointment on Tuesday so that the doctor can go ahead and fill in the 'last date worked' and stuff.

You are almost there! Hopefully the little bugger will want to come out when you are ready! Sorry no progression yet She didn't strip your membranes? I know you said that worked well last time.

As for my birth plan, we are military. It's more of a wish list than anything *sigh*. My OB made a copy for my file. It's simple things like, I want daddy to cut the cord and also to help deliver her. I don't want an episitomy, I want to be allowed to stretch. I want to hold the baby immediately after birth. I want dim lighting and soft music wherever I am laboring at etc...

I have a level two U/S tomorrow morning My really sweet OB did it at our request because we never did get a look at her organs or bones. This U/S would cost me $1000 if not for my doc requesting it I am happy. I will let you all know how it turns out. It's at 9:30. As for me, apprx. 3.5 more weeks to go! I plan on working half days beginning on the 24th!

You're right about that!! I'm tickled pink...but swear I'm not going to accomplish crap at work until then, lol!!!

I'm due for my yearly review in June, but my boss wants to do it before I go out since our company is a PIA about retroactive raises, etc... Anyway, much less headache and hassle to do it before I go out. He's been in Switzerland for the past 2 weeks, though, and comes back next week. So next week is IT, and it's go to be done by then. Lots going on, but hey...anything that keeps my mind off of 'real' work is a good thing!

Thanks so much!! I dropped her off at 8:15am and she could have cared less. The little weasel gets so much attention at the vet's office that she's in heaven there, haha!! Anyway, they should be calling me in the next couple of hours to give me an update on how things went. I'm anxious for the call!!! I'm going to miss her tonight and tomorrow especially since it's my day off! I pick her up around 4pm tomorrow!

This is a different doctor than the last time, but I'd assume she didn't do it since I'm still a couple weeks to my due date. When my doctor did it with Mackenzie, I was a couple days past due, so in my 40th week. I'll have my induction date on Monday, and I have an appointment on Tuesday. Unless they induce on the 23th or 25th, I'm sure I'll have one last appointment before I have the baby, so maybe that day she'll strip them - ya know, since it'll be the day or 2 before the induction anyway. I didn't ask her, but plan to ask on Tuesday when I go. She might do it to get me going along with the induction stuff, or she may simply rely on the induction stuff, I dunno.

I'm so happy to hear that you're getting a 'real' ultrasound that's doctor requested!!!! How awesome!!!!!! I hope it goes great!!!

My name is Melissa and I usually post in the Century Club.

I'm 5-1/2 weeks pregnant with some complications.

I had gastric bypass surgery in January, so I'm under 4 moths post op.

I also have problems with my heart. It's only squeezing at 40%.
I am off of heart meds due to the pregnancy. So the only thing I can do to strengthen it is lose weight and walk.

I've been told that I am at a high risk for Cardiac Arrest, Heart Failure, or even death. The added stress on my heart due to the pregnancy is very dangerous - but termination is not an option for DH and I. We want this baby.

I have a few threads on the CC board if you care to take a look at them to get to know me better. Mostly - we've been asking for prayers for the baby and I. Some posters have even started a "MelS Baby Update" thread...how sweet is that!?

I see my cardiologist once a week now.I also see my WLS doctor and Nutritionist once a month - and OBGYN every 4 weeks as of now. I have been referred to the Texas Perinatal Group which in organization that deals with high risk pregnancies. They will soon refer me to a new OBGYN.

It's nice to meet you all! I plan to visit here often!

Suzanne- What a great u/s picture. So much detail. My doctor/hospital doesn't offer the 3d or 4d u/s yet. I am glad you found your midwife and can have a home birth like you want.

Lauren- How exciting. It is so close!! Hope everything goes well with the dog.

Stacy- I am glad to her about the new thread on the challange board. I will have to look for it after I have the baby.

Tiff- That is wonderful that Emily sleep through the night. It makes such a big difference!

Hi to everyone else!

My appoinment was pretty routine today. I am kinda in shock because I was afraid I had gained like 10 pounds or something and I actually lost another .5- So I am almost at 20 weeks and I have gained a woping 1 pound. The nurse joked that if I keep this up I will have the baby in a bikini. I really want to not gain much weight since I am overweight to begin with- So far so good!!

We scheduled the u/s for next month . I can't wait.

How much does a 4 D ultrasound cost in the US? I just picked a hospital out of the phone book and it was about $150 US.

Kristen, that was how my weight gain was last time. I started heavier but only gained 20 lbs. Two days after delivery, I was 5 lbs less than I started. No hope of that happening this time! LOL

Stacy, you and Cassidy both look great! I can't wait to join the post birth thread.

Hi Wari!

I woke up around 5 AM with a pain in my right side, like when you are running and get a "stitch" in your side. It didn't feel too bad so I went walking but cut back to 8K. It still hurts but it isn't getting better or worse. Doesn't feel exactly like round ligament pain because that always goes away quickly. I called my midwife and she said to just wait and see, and not take pain killers because it could be my appendix! She said it's probably not and not to worry.... Have any of you had a pain like this? Or had your appendix out? I don't really feel bad at all but it is kind of scary.

I forgot to mention that I'm due on Dec. 30th but I won't be able to go full term due to my heart. They will take the baby early.

How early will they want to take the baby? Did they tell you? I read some in your other thread- You have a 2 yr old and a 12 yr old boys- Right? I have a 2 yr old daughter her bday is in December (14th). It will be nice to see a new name on the list!

Suzanne- the 4D U/S here (which I had done at 26 weeks) was $150.00. But the level 2 U/S is $1000.00 Covered by insurance though

Suzanne- Keep us posted on your pain. I never had anything like that happen. - I thought I was doing good going for a mile walk today- And it was nice- but it was very humid outside today.

Tiff- My husband and I where the opposite of you and your husband. I wasn't sure I wanted more, but I am happy that we are going to have another one.
