Magnificent Vintage Maintainer's..Wed. May 12

Good morning everyone.

Heaven help us, am I the first one UP? Come on gang, wake up and smell the coffee.

Not much going on in this corner of the world. I'm off to let the dog out and then work till about 4PM.

Gee I would love a rib eye steak tonight but the last time I got some, they were $9.95 lb. Ouch! I guess dinner will be some chicken thrown on the BBQ.. How are the prices in your area?

Those are my one liners for today. Back later.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Montana and all who follow!

It is cold and rainy here today--there is even snow in the forecast. Very odd for this time of year since we do not live "at elevation."

Still having trouble with the demons in the freezer. I come from a poor family and it kills my soul to think of tossing out perfectly good food because I don't have the discipline not to pig out on it. I discovered that my dogs like the Cheddar Bay Biscuits--why wouldn't they since they go nuts for pork rinds? So, I don't have to waste them. The muffins are another story since they have cocoa in them and chocolate is a no-no for dogs. Not that they should be eating human food, either...

I am under some stress at work and it's times like these that I seek to escape by noshing my way through the day. When I get home after such days, I make the mistake of rewarding myself for surviving with food. With the weather still crummy, I'm not excited about venturing outdoors instead of coccooning. I do a work out 5 or 6 times a week--weights, lower body resistance. I usually try to walk a half hour at lunchtime, too, but with work deadlines, I haven't been able to make the time to do that for a couple of weeks. Stress--or rather my reaction to it--usually seems to derail my maintenance plans. So, I'm muddling through, trying to keep the food craziness to a minimum. As bad as it can get, my self-control has improved a thousand-fold over what it was before lo-carbing.

I hope everyone has a great day. Keep on keepin' on.

Hey gang,

Up late last night so up late this morning. Have to clip one of the dogs today--she's starting to chew again. Grrrr. She's really hot natured and one flea will set her to chewing herself raw. So, time to eliminate BOTH problems! Thank God for Advantage!

Loretta, hope you're feeling better soon! Take care, hon!

Off to get the clippers....

Thanks for the well wishes. I am feeling just tad better today. went to bed early and did sleep very well through the night.
I'm sure this is a cold Barb. But I have not had one for quite a while. Leah's dad has it also. I will go to bed early again tonight. I am on a countdown here too. Let me see 5 more days. or 12 if this takes me 2 weeks.

Yane how many hours between your eating?. I try to eat frequent small meals (ie, SFjello or Hard boil egg or something) at least every 2 to 3 hours. At least you won't get so ravenous that you have to rip open that freezer and find a treat. Stress is a real challange though and that too will get me eating out of control.

Zip thanks for the advice in the drugs but I am not going to take much of anything. I hate all of their side effects.
Maybe you out grew your chocolate allergy. NOT a good thing though you will be hunting more sales.

Linda that beef price is outrageous. I'm glad that we have that Amish 1/2 cow in the freezer. We eat the steaks about once every 2 weeks or so. Are you on the countdown too for RETIREMENT????? plus the new BABY BOY.

Ginny maybe that fur kid has a flea allergy. I had a dog that had that and we had to put him on some cortisone. He was just raw with his scratching.

SuSun I see you got your
[b][size=1][font=arial][color=darkred] COLORS working just great. (guess I need another lesson) Now the pictures are next.

Shawnee that yard is taking entirely too much of your time.
Spread some of that TLC on us. Hope all is well there, don't let me bug you.

Julie glad that Bo is doing ok. Hope you had a grand time at your Bowling Banquet (any prizes) and at the Casino. (any winnings) Missing your menus lately over at the Golden.

Jackie thanks again for all of your plant photos. Those roses were just beautiful. Counting down for you.

l8ter Loretta

HI Y'all

Been missin' ya...and have read your great posts, plus all the precious eye-candy pics.
Actually, too much brain fog and a tad of depression going on...damn thyroid is slightly outta whack again, gotta increase the Armour. Takes awhile for results. Please bear with my dingbat ramblins.

Loretta, bless your heart...guess you would know better than most of us how to get thru your illness...and sure hope it turns around soon. Like Ginny, I call it FARMER JOHN work too. ( How will that set with your DH ?) Bob had an Uncle John who farmed 120 acres, so its a natural phrase for me. Take care and rest.
I'm still in shock over your hair being so dark in the pics: GOOD genes....gorgeous GBrats too.

Goddess, that pic of NITRO was a shocker for me too. Wow, what a big handsome lad...he had quite a growth spurt. Forwarded him on to GBrat, show him off for ya He looks quietly regal.
About Ruby: she has bonded tightly with GBrat and BurkPup...plus she hates the Chuckster, and its a mutual feeling...so she will be a part-timer here. I love her yodel, tho when it comes unexpectedly, it can cause a heart attack.

Montana, the weather has not been cooperating ...as y'all are warming up, we're rainy and cold. That's good for the snow pack, but dampens a gardener's spirits.
$8.99 lb here.

Yane, GAWD, I loved this from you:
The only thing that stopped me for going back for muffin #3 was taking the appetite-suppressing action of going outside to clean up dog droppings. That killed my desire for anything brown.

Years back I was hypnotized for smoking...and also asked for relief from my gigantic chocolate habit. When asked what the "turn off association" suggestion would be, I promptly replied : DOG CRAP.
It worked for over six months.
Like Loretta, I eat small meals throughout the day....and evening.

Julie, so good to hear BO is ok

I'm running out of steam, so HI to all I haven't talked to.

Shawnee

Ginny, have you ever tried plain ole Listerine for those hot spots??? Works great!!!!

Shawnee, sorry the depression has overtaken you again. We'll be here when you feel like it. You can also go off on us and we'll take it. Big shoulders here and for pete's sake, we've all done it.

Roger, did we scare you away with the 2x4 slapping???

Yane, boy I can relate but better in the garbage than on the thighs!!! Reward your self with something other than food. It only tastes good for about 20 seconds and then the guilt makes us feel worst than ever. Hang in there!! We all fall to our weaknesses once in awhile. Mine is ice cream, even low carb ice cream can be eaten to excess!! Just ask me!!!

Linda, thanks for getting this going. We had rib eye's on sale this past weekend but I still couldn't pay $5.99 even though that is an excellent price.

Loretta, I'm convinced a cold will last for 1 week, not 2!!! Glad you're feeling a tad bit better today. I haven't posted on the menu bb cause I've been eating waaaay toooo much. Ice cream!! How do I explain that to all those trying to lose? I've been naughty and the scale shows a 2.5 lbs gain. Best get it under control but dang it's hard.

Hi Magnificient Maintainers!

It's been a humid one up here today! We have the ceiling fans going but DH doesn't want to put the A/C on yet!

I had 11 girls at the pg moms group this morning, the first day of a 6 week group. It went well. They are all quite motivated, it should be a good group.

Loretta,
SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE FEELING A LITTLE BETTER! (((hugs)))
Yes, THANK YOU for the tips, I seem to have got the hang of it!
If it wasn't for your patience and kindness I would probably still be stuck way back. Now posting the pics is another challenge which I will leave for another time!
I was reading your post and got to Shawnees, I had to re-read... spread what, on us????

Ginny,
I sent that pic of Nitro on to my DD too. She is shocked how much he has grown I sent the pic of the two little ones when you first got them. She is a dog person too!

Shawnee,
Glad to see you posting and so sorry to hear you are not feeling up to par!
I watched part of the Westminster Dog Show a couple of nights ago. Sure enough, they had an exact copy of Ruby to represent that breed, but he was a male, same colourings and markings.
It went on so long, that I missed the ending.
Sending ((((HUGS)))) and cheer your way!

Linda,
Have a great shift! I am tired after today. I have tomorrow to work, then I done for the week! YIPPPPPEEEEEE!!!!

Barb,
Your countdown sounds wonderful!
Loved your. "Rocks in the pockets to keep from blowing away."
That's a keeper!

Jacki,
What are you up to, still resting those tootsies after a day at the salt mines? Those number will soon be in single digits!

Yane,
You are receiving great advice, the small but often eating does keep the blood sugar up, so you dont get as hungry and out of control. Dont give up the ground that you have already made!

Julie,
Glad to hear Bo is alright! What happened to him?
Are you still going to Curves? I am looking forward to a nice walk on Friday with DD. Three full days in a row at work indoors and my body is screaming "let me out."

Roger,
Glad to hear they accepted the book at the library.
It is that good Catholic Boy in you that made you feel a tad guilty to dry each page, painstakingly, as you did!

Wavin to Y'all!
Roll on Friday!

SuSUN!

Susan, I explained it on yesterday's thread. Just so I don't have to repeat and bore everybody else. LOL
