AB FLAB!?
HI you guys.
Allthough Im 2 lbs below my goal weight I still feel very flabby especially in the ab area also I still have some major "backfat" under my bra. Do you all have any suggestions on how to deal with excess 'ab flab"?? I hear varying reports on 'crunches"..some say they are not really effective. Glad to be here. Michelle in Vegas |

Hi Michelle,
Crunches are just WONDERFUL for that chiseleld look. They may not take off the belly flab per se but by putting a hard six pack under there the muscles will show through and nobody will notice the little layer of fat. For the bra-strap bacon though, my guess is that you set your goal 5- 10 pounds too high. I know- that's JUST what you wanted to hear.![]() Last edited by zip2play : 05-12-2004 at 05:22 AM. |

Gawd, I had that around the bra! Geesh I still had that around the bra in the back when I was down to 109lbs! it's like come off already will ya?
Not trying to depress you. I'm sure YOUR bra roll will come off better than mine. My body is just very obstinate and a few places like REFUSE to give up the fat... just give it up already... but no, it won't. (yeah, like my cursed thighs.... ugh!!) Careful HOW you do the 'crunches'- if you decide to do crunches to try to help your abs- be sure you don't do them in a way that is damaging to your back and neck. The OLD way (and you will only understand this if you are not a teen right now probably LOL) that we used to do crunches is not good.... not good at all- on your back and neck.

I would suggest you try lifting weights. There are some great videos out there that show you the proper form. Weight lifting helps build lean muscle mass and really tones up the flab.
One exercise that's good for the bra line flab is the one-armed row. Here's a link that shows you how to do it: http://www.womensexercisenetwork.com...-routines.html |

I agree with Julia. Its all about lifting weights. Lift as heavy of a weight as you can for at least 12 repetitions. Your muscle should be exhausted. If you can't go 12, the weight is too heavy. If you can go more, the weight is too light.
Best of luck! Betty |

Curves!
I was very close to goal and my stomach was still awful...I have finally had success since I've joined Curves. Trust me, I am still not bikini material and never will be as I have too many stretch marks and loose skin but the "pooch" is finally starting to get smaller. Good luck ![]() |
