Mornin' all!
Ahhhhh, the peace and quiet!!! Had a really good day yesterday, just us and the furkids. Also got a lot done reclaiming the house. All I lack is a load of clothes in the dryer and the last load of bedding in the washer. Grilled out yesterday and we really stuffed ourselves. Love that home raised beef! Looks like I'm getting relaxed finally! Off to lurk for a bit... |

Hey Ginny
What a wonderful day you had!!!! Just being along together with the furkids and Steve, grilling out, nice weather. WTG SuSun I think I know where the colors you posted got messed up. After you click them on as you go along, when you are finished you have to click on the tab at the top right that says close all tags. It has a red x on it. Keep at it you will get it. I got that recipe saved and now hope I can find the unsweetened coconut when I shop later this week. It's Leah smile that is the puller. Thanks Not much going on here today. Some new neighbors are about to move in so I will take them a pot of Sloppy Joes. If I can catch up with them. IF not today tomorrow. Hoping to get out in the yard and do some Farmer Work. Well what is it????? IT is not Suzy or Molly work. What do we call this one??????? L8ter g8ters |

Good Morning Ginny and Our Gang!
It is pretty wet and drizzly up here today. I will be going for the usual hour or so Walk with DD and the dogs soon. Glad to give the ole bod some exercise. I always feel so much better after the fresh air too! Seems to clear the mind too. I am off today so last day to "gun it" for my paper. It has been a long process, step by painstackingly step. I am feeling more confident to completion now. I have an eye check up this aft. I probably will need an increase in my script. Two years since the last eye exam. This constant daily reading must take its toll on my eyesight. No wonder my mind is in a "fog" constantly processing large amount of data! Those who have a few days more at the Salt Mines have my admiration! Barb are you in single digits yet? Jacki how is your countdown coming along? Up a llb this morning, tell tale sign from my Mothers Day weekend! I hope the walk this morning helps. Loretta, Those Pics that you posted are Adorable! We have been taking friendly family bets on the arrival date of Ella! Her estimated date is July 8th. DS has claimed July 4th, me too along with the 11th they are both Sunday's. Her DH says July 3rd DH says the 10th.....he is always changing his mind when he hears others dates! The Shower is coming up on June 6th, so I sent all the addresses to DDs girlfriend last week. Gotta move along now and dress for this weather for the WALK! SuSUN! ![]() |

Good morning, Ginny, and the Vintage Maintainers to follow. From the weekend threads, it sounds like everyone had a great Mother's Day.
I finished a clean 2-week reinduction on Saturday with somewhat disappointing results. I had a net loss of only 5 pounds for the two weeks, but that put me 8 pounds down from the 121 I was on April 21. I am at 113 now, within sight of the 110 goal so I have to be happy about that. I've cleanly inducted and re-inducted three or four times now over 2 years and never lost more than 5 pounds in any of those two-week stretches. I spent the weekend baking and sampling lo-carb treats. I made a big batch of Atkins waffles, the Cheddar Bay biscuits (to die for), chocloate peanut butter muffins and Dobie's muffins (which I flavored with orange extract and SF caramel). Let's just say, of Dr. Phil's philosophy that the more work you put into food preparation, the less likely you are to overindulge in the finished product, "that dog won't hunt." I ate 3 of the Dobie muffins before they'd even cooled! Maybe I didn't work hard enough preparing the batter. All the treats are now safely tucked into the freezer and I am back to more responsible eating. My carbs for today will be under 25 and the calories around 1350. My menu: B--omelet made with 2 med. eggs and a little shredded cheese, two small sausage links, decaf coffee with 2 tbs. cream and SF German Chocolate Cake DaVinci. L-- 1 1/2 c of spring greens with 1 tbs lo-carb ranch; 2 deli slices roast turkey; 1/4 honeydew. S-- celery sticks and 7 slices crisped up pepperoni D--4 oz. pork tenderloin; 6 Brussel sprouts (why are there so many carbs in Brussel sprouts?); 1 1/2 c. spring greens with 1 tbs ranch. I brought some cream and a bottle of davinci SF vanilla to work with me today. So I will make my own coffee break and not go to the coffee shop. Why, would you look at that! Time for a coffee break right now. Enjoy your day, all!

Hi everyone,
It's a lovely and pretty darn WARM day here in upstate NY. Been running around all day. My daughter finally got a call to work which will hopefully last the entire construction season. She had a very difficult time leaving her pup, Dakota so I went over to check on him and play for a bit. Finally picked up the last two cabinet doors for the basement kitchen so now it's complete. YIPPIE! Roger, I found glycerin at the local Eckerd but the pharmacist said it might not be a good idea to "ingest" it since it may have solvents or some other toxin in it. I told her that it's in many foods and we have a partial bottle left that Gerard got at the health food store to use in baking. She said it's probably a much more pure grade of the stuff. Any thoughts?Ginny, Glad you are finally enjoying some peace and quiet. Oh gosh, I would give my right arm for some home raised beef. We are grilling Rib eyes tonight and will have a couple of hand fulls of salad and who knows what else. Loretta, hopefully those new neighbors will be good ones. How nice of you to take them something. We notice that the land next door has been sold. Wonder who we will have next door. The police officer decided against buying it last year because of the right of way. Oh well. Can't do a thing about it. Susan, good luck with the eye exam and paper. Sounds like you should all start a pool on the baby arrival date. Still no sign of Nicholas Peter. Hope it's not in the middle of the night. Julie, I'm sorry to hear of Bo's "episode" and sincerely hope it's nothing to worry about. Keep us posted. Poor little guy. Elaine, Atkins always stated that it's normal to lose approx. 10% of the necessary weight during induction. Don't worry about losing 5 lbs. That is great! Just be careful of those Atkins products. They are full of trans fat and soy which harms the thyroid. Barb and Jackie, the countdown begins. How many more days of work for you girls? Shawnee, Are you enjoying the yard and garden? We want more details about Ruby too. More later. |

Hi gang,
Linda, Bo is doing fine today. Talked to the Vet and we will wait it out and see if he has another spell. I was almost hysterical thinking I might lose him. He is our kid you know. Thanks for asking. Bet you're getting excited about the new DGS? Ginny, how nice to have the house back to yourself. I remember when my last child left the nest. Yippee!!!!!!!! First thing I did was run nikkad all over the house. Course the kids all have keys to the front door so I was still guarded and waited til it was later than they would come over. hehehehe Enjoy! Loretta, Leah is so cute!! Gosh I love those little ones. Susan, don't worry about 1 lb, I was up 2. LOL It'll come right off. I just didn't get all my water in. I said NO to 3 desserts. Boy it was hard too. Bet you're getting excited about the baby too? Elaine, don't worry those lbs will come off soon. You sound determined. Stay eating clean and that means no goodies in the freezer until those lbs are gone. Mother hens here....

Ok...got that right!!
Had a good day at work. Nothing to hang things up (for me anyway---and it's all about me! Right???) Count down is 26 work days. I just came in from taking some pictures of what's blooming nice in my yard. And updates on the Dirty Man Plant. Here ya go: Another Cecile Brunner shot [IMG] [/IMG] Dogwood 'Satomi' [IMG] [/IMG] Dirty Man Plant week 3 The bud measures a bit over 20" [IMG] [/IMG] I've been very good about going to Curves. Friday my weigh in was down 8 lbs. Today, back up 3 but I"m sure it's water....I didn't do so good on drinking water this weekend. And had too much salt. I'll be better this week. Maybe by friday the water weight will be down and maybe a true loss??? I hope. Hope all is well with everyone. Time to make some dinner. I'll bake some chicken legs and thighs. Nothing fancy...add some salad. Good night folks. ![]() Last edited by JackiCWa : 05-10-2004 at 07:52 PM. |

Checking back before the anslaught of work for the next 3 days!
We have a promise of warmer temps by the weatherman, so the flowers are beginning to bloom. I am still at the tulip bloomin stage yet, nothing much else! Jacki, LOVE THOSE PICS! Thank you for sharing those gorgeous looking blooms with us! How delightful for you Guys on the West Coast! Breathtaking roses Jacki!Must be time for afternoon Tea? LOL! Only 26 days, they will soon pass by! Ya got me counting I have approx 20 days to work before the Baby's due date, could be 23 if she is a week late, so not bad eh? I only have two weeks booked off, not like you YOU lucky Gal!Julie, What is going on with BO? Did I miss your post? So glad to hear the vet will monitor him. Lovely to see Bo's birthday party pics the other day! You have given me ideas for August for Oliver but I think I will be a tad busy with the new baby, playing Mary Poppins over at DD's! Linda, Yep, the Opthamologist has increased my script a tad. He said I could use plain readers for the computer reading work. I told him I have missing section white spots that follow along the page where I am reading. He didnt seem to bothered. He said sounds like eyestrain. It feels like brain strain to me! I may take him up on that. When is Nicholas Peter's due date? They usually make their arrival over night it seems dont they? Wishing a short labour and smooth delivery. Loretta, I buy the unsweetened coconut at the bulk food store. I had no problem finding that. I hope that you can find it. I must have been posting at the same time as you this morning. Thanks for the tips on the enhanced mode and the red x thingy. Did ya accomplish the Farmer work? Roger, Hope you are feeling well and enjoying the mild temps the North East is experiencing! Did you manage to dry out the Library book? Waving to Barb and All! |
