Monday in the Rain for this VM
Hi gang-o-mine...
My chin strap is working better since I cut out the plastic adjusting staps. It still stay on. I'd KILL for some drooling...my problem is the opposite- parched dry mouth. Sometimes, I swear I'm going to need a screwdriver some day to pry my mouth open in the morning. I'm sure it's not good for these recurrent colds either and supposed to play havoc with oral hygiene. I THINK the strap solves at least half the problem! More later. I think it may be mailnly a consequence of the BP meds but until I lose about 5-10 pounds more, I can't go without them without going too high...and swelling like a big fat grape! Ginny, LOL on the subconscious...I think it's my urge to spread the Holy Word that had me leave the book behind. Like the missionaries and their heart-felt goal of saving mankind from perdition. Linda, Yeah, the Loew's is up and looking better every year with a group of volunteers, The Friend's of Loews, have been working their little asses off reconditioning her. It's a HUGE 2500 seat theater with numbered exits....back left is EXIT 190 (can you IMAGINE.) Julie, Glad your DDIL came to the rescue. Shawnee, I've got my gloves on; what gardening chores do you want me to do. Ohhhh Jacki....I LOVE air driven tools. If we EVER get to suburbia, the first thing I will buy is a compressor. And then a conpressed air coffee grinder...or shoe polisher!!! Camping in today (rain)...I'm sure I have some chores- I always do!

Rise and shine!! The sun's up here!
I was posting at the same time Zip -- so I deleted mine. I wouldn't want to confuse anyone!
Julie, IF I did drool -- I wouldn't tell anyone -- Have a good time on your camping trip.Who is Suzy? I'm getting worried about who's getting shot!! What's the deal with measuring the blood glucose? with pasta? I must have missed some important nutritional information. What should the numbers be? Might have to mow AGAIN this week -- I hope I get into shape by then! Running off to the SALT MINE !! Barb

Hi Y'all
Too late, Barb...we are already running TWO Threads for today.. ![]() Suzy: well, she's the wicked representative of anything related to HOUSEWORK ! (think Suzy Homemaker from the Sixties...or the Beaver Cleaver Mom image of same era, doing her chores oh, so gracefully in pearls and heels...) ![]() Gawd, Zip...if you're into drool , I'll send ya my pillowcases...which must be changed daily, as Bob is a drooler too... As a Guest Volunteer Gardener, take your "druthers" of any of the million tasks. Said chores usually start out pleasurably enough, but as the sweat increases, they become work. Sure miss my Pup sidekick; her B-day was MayDay. ....will post this on the other thread too...gonna confuse our new Elaine for sure. Shawnee |

Good morning! I posted this in Sunday's thread but now I see there's a Monday thread. so here it is again.
Thank you shawnseesioux for the warm welcome last week. I am not near a computer on weekends but I will try to post faithfully during the work week. As I explained before, I have just finished 2 years on Atkins. I have been struggling with maintenance for 11 months. Currently, I am in my second week of a religious re-induction, trying to get my cravings for nuts, cream and SF treats under control as well as address my portion control problems. My official weigh-in day is now Saturday. My weight was at 113, three pounds from goal and at the outer edge of my "zone of comfort." I am happily divorced and am human companion to two rambunctious dogs, a Golden and Border Collie cross. No children. I live in North Dakota where we enjoy six months of winter followed by six months of pre-winter. I hope to get to know all of you better in time. Thank you for opening the door of friendship and support to me.

Two daily threads?LOL better than none. Roger, glad you got the chin strap working better. I hear ya on the dry mouth. It's a huge PITA and interrupts sleep. Elaine, good to have you join our crazy bunch of oldies. LOL the exception being our Ginny. She is the baby of our group.Congrats on the weight loss and maintaining all this time. Maintaining takes some work but you will find your way soon..LOL I love your sig. line too. Barb, the pasta is called Dreamfields and is supposed to have only 5 digestible carbs. Check out their website. I thought I would test to be sure it didn't spike the glucose but unfortunately it did on the first test. That wonderful kastadiva told me to be sure and wash my hands before testing since "unwashed" hands can skew the results. The second test was much better but still not something I would eat frequently. Hi Shawnee. Off to paste this to the other thread. |

Roger, have you tried Orajel Dry mouth jell? It really helps me. I found it at the local pharmacy and Wally world has it too.
