VINTAGE MAINTAINERS, Thursday

Hi gang,

Feeling like this cold has turned the corner. THank heavens...I'll give it a full mending day before I do anything but a small stroll around the neighborhood.

DAMN...the new Queen Mary II came in this morning on her Maiden Voyage this morning. She was due in the Battery (harbor South of the bottom tip of Manhattan and then a slow 1 hour steam up the Hudson to her berth. Me up at 7:10....painfully dressed by 7:15 (I DON'T mover well when I bolt out of bed....everything hurts). At 7:20 as I's sticking a memory card in the camera...BOOOOOHHHHWWWWAAAAAHHHHHH. That's the sound of her horn as she passses our neghborhood. We saw her ass as she sped by our area. We'll have to catch her going out this weekend.
She is a BIG, UGLY, M'F'Ker. Like a regular huge boat with 10 extra decs glued on top. Can we spell C..L..U..M..S..Y? All 17 decks of her... She's the largest, longest, tallest, widest liner ever built.
If you want to tour her site:
http://www.cunard.com/QM2Events/defa...SEvents&Sub=ny
I'll get some snaps as she leaves...foggy tody anyway.

OK, time for coffee.

edit: SHEESH RALPHIE.... we revisited the Cunard site, confused, and the times they gave were EST and we've been EDT all month- THOSE IDIOTS! (People are going to miss their salilings)

Saw it on the news this morning and I have to agree. Not a pretty site. Not sure who the architect was but he should lose his job. It is big though!!!
Glad you are finally feeling better today Roger.

Off to the ballgame today. Should get lots of walking to and from the ferry boat. Sure hope they win but if they don't, I'll have a good time. It's sunny today and promise of mid 60's.

Must run so everyone have a great day.

Hi Roger and Julie

Glad your cold is on the mend Zip. Thanks for the link for the Queen. She is a big gal.

Julie enjoy that game. Are you going with some friends or DH?

Here is a shot of someof my radishes. I was surprised myself at how nice they are.

Mostly rain here. The flowers will get drowned.

Had breakfast with DS and Leah at Waffle House. Omelet with some toms. She is growing fast.

l8ter Loretta

Hi everybody,

Roger, I saw that monster ship today on the news. Holy cow it's HUGE but very ugly. With almost 4,000 people on board, it makes quite a target for terrorists, eh? She's supposed to be in Athens this summer along with many others. Who ever would want to be on it during the Olympics is beyond me.

Glad your cold is getting better. Knock on wood, I still don't have my co workers monster cold/sinus infection/bronchitis.

Julie, enjoy that game and I hope your team wins. Looks like you are going to have some great weather for it.

Loretta, yummm those radishes look so great I can almost taste them. Pass the salt shaker. Hard to believe you have them already. I just noticed the first tips of the remaining yard hostas poking up and some slight green on the tree buds.

Wonder if Shawnee has any vegetables growing this year. I know she planted tomatoes but can't remember if she planted anything else.

Ginny, do ya still have company?

Barb, bet it's good to be home. Did you get that snow that was predicted for your area?

My poor oldest kid had to fight another fire yesterday. It seems we have an arsonist working the city. He/she has started at least 7 big 2 and 3 alarm fires in the past two months. Hope they catch the ******* before someone is killed.

Waving to the rest of the gang. I'm off to hit the shower and maybe take a nap. Woke up with that darn dry mouth after only 5 hrs sleep this am. Guess I'll have to get out the duct tape tonight.

Wow! That's really neat to see something like that Zip --

And....... I have elk on the road as I drive home!

What a contrast!

I have a former student who is in Job Corp in Montana and he's excited to be making some money with the fires this summer. They get $300 per day and are going thru training now. Rather a bitter-sweet lesson!!

Sounds like Leah is doing ok Loretta. It's such a worry when they are so young.

You SHOULD have a passion about something Julie !! How about baseball? You do know I'm teasing you!! I have a passion for football and that comes from my parents. No matter how senile one gets -- have a passion about something! They did, and it saved their life.

Jackie, are you still the head cook? I want some more salad !!

Yes, we will probably have cooler temps and snow tonight! It's been raining all day and I love it.

Barb

Hello Gang!

Another day at the "Salt Mines" again. I was so tired yesterday I passed out on the couch for over an hour, tonight was only 1/2 an hour, so hopefully I can get to bed around 11p.m after the new episode of ER.

How wonderful to see the "Big Ship" Roger and hear her too!
The contrast that Barb saw was neat too.

Another day at work tomorrow, then off till Tuesday a new Smokers Group starts up. Recruitment is not going too well so they may cancel it. I will be relieved if they do. It will be nice to have a break.

Bye from Sleepy SuSUN!

Barb, Oh I do have a passion about something. Did I say I didn't? Baseball and exercise. Yep, thats why I couldn't figure out why I was in a slump about ex this past few months. I have always been fanatic about doing it. BAseball is too. Having lots of friends is too. Just got home after a miserable game. They played awful but had fun. Time for Friends TV show and want to see these last few episodes so will run and catch up tomorrow.
