Vintage Maintainer's Tues, April 20

Hi everyone,

Thought I would get this started before I head off to work.

Dinner at the Texas Road House last night was wonderful and a low carber's dream. Salad, Steak, mushrooms and a baked sweet potato. First time I have had one in a good many years. Portions were large enough for a doggie bag and my dinner tonight.

One of my co workers called last night and has a terrible head and chest cold and told me to avoid her today. Sheesh, damned fool should stay home and not spread that crap around. She said she had minimal patient contact but must have touched door handles and such.. Guess I'll just have to wear gloves and not touch my face until my hands are washed really well. LOL I'm totally PARANOID about upper respiratory illness.

Roger, I sincerely hope you are feeling better today.
Anything special going on?

Julie,
Pass along some of your energy will ya? I don't know how you do everything you do.

We don't have a Christopher Banks in this town unfortunately.

Loretta, how is little Leah doing today?

Waving to all of our gardeners working in their yards and having fun.
More later.

As always, I'm heading out the door. Curves, then bowling and lunch to plan our next camping trip the first of May. Yeah!!
Mariners won for the 3rd game in a row. Took 14 innings to do it.

Linda, for God's sake, stay away from her and yeah, wash, wash, wash those hands.

Loretta, I gave up on buying my lettuce and spinach in the bags. I just fill my salad spinner with water and swish around and change water until it comes out clean. Not hard and it tastes so much better than that bag stuff. JMHO...

Hi to all and running...........

Hi to all

The doc prescribed some Zantac for little Leah. She just has some lingering virus. I will check on her today if I go to town after I finish washing clothes.

Linda have you found your skirt yet? Guess you will have to get a purse/pocket size of lysol wipes and wipe what ever you are going to touch. I sure don't know why people cannot keep their germs to themselves. Glad you enjoyed your dinner at the Roadhouse. I think we ate there once in Texas. Is it the place where you have peanuts and a big hole in the table to put your shells? It was a while ago.

Julie just look at those Mariners GO, GO, GO. How do you keep your spinach to last a long time? Mine seems to spoil before a weeks end. Maybe that is par for the course though.

Loretta,
OK, Who gave Leah that ulcer...stress isn't supposed to be that extreme til you're at leat 3!
I agree with Julie. The spinach still on stems keeps a lot longer. I wash it all and bag it up damp and most is good for 10 days or so. A LOT more work though.

Linda,
It's fearsome...stay away from that cold! Mine has moved to lungs and is a vicious cough...Just bought some dextromethorphan (guarding my last bottle of codeine tablets like they're gold!)
Worst cold of my life!
A friend that I haven't seen for a month said she just got out of bed after 2 weeks with head/eyes/throat and lungs inflammation. Nice you had a lovely steak dinner.

I miss the gym but even playing in the water isn't smart: the high levels of chlorine will murder me.

Lovely day today 70degrees and bright sun. We had a short walk.

Nap calls.

Good Tuesday Magnificient Ones!

Enjoyed my hour and half walk with DD today. The weather is just gorgeous, so sunny and mild, it was heavenly!

I am so energized, that I dont't know where to start. I get over ambitious and start too many projects. I have work tomorrow so all that "Fun" stuff will stop abruptly. I want to make hay while the sun shine, so to speak!

Loretta,
Glad to hear Leah is on the mend. It is such a worry when they are so small and helpless. I am sure we will have a few more grey hairs when Ella goes thru the first fever and tummy ache stuff.
I thought you used to grow the baby spinach in boxes on your porch? I would love to grow stuff. I never seem to get organized or spend enough time with the green stuff. That's another plan for my retirement, along with learning to sew. I keep looking for sewing machines at a good price, after you suggested an inexpensive Brother machine. They are still around $200 - $250. One day I will treat myself.
I guess you have "your" Molly stuff to do today, laundry!
I may look for some seeds on the weekend for the garden. I have a wall against the garage that needs something in. I did plant some wildflower there from seed a few years back, they came up for a couple of years, despite the frost.

Julie,
Good idea to buy the leafty stuff in bags and wash well. At work they say a few drops of washing up liquid in the rinse water kills a large percentage of bacteria from the soil. I guess that is what that "FIT" rinse is all about.
You have great energy and a busy social calendar!

Linda,
Wishing you a Good day at work today. I know I have it for the next 3 days. Some parts are fun though.
I hope that you find a nice skirt.
Your dinner sounded wonderful last night. I love it when a place can accommodate our WOE. DD always has plenty so I can stay with my WOE.
I have lost another 1lb today. It must be the physical activity cuz I am eating my ususal LC stuff. DH put the BBQ on the deck today, need cleaning but that is another indicator that Spring?Summer is here. Lots of LC meals there!
Yes, steer clear of those pesty respiratory tract germs.

Roger,
How are YOU today? Hope the Allegra is still working for you. DS had a script for that last year. He was very pleased with it too.

Gotta get this excess energy into a project. Time is running out work tomorrow, so gone for 10 hours! Hope to get some walking in at lunch time with a colleague.

Wavin to the rest of our Gang!

SuSUN!

Ropger, you poor guy!!! Sorry you are so miserable.

Loretta, I just wash it and spin it and put it in plastic bag with paper towels. Seems to last a long time. I hate the smell and taste of the already bagged stuff.
Thanks for the rah rah rah for the Mariner's!!!!

SuSun, gosh where do you get all that energy?? I go all the time but right now, 4:30, I'm wiped!!!

Course the late night watching the Mariner's pull off that game, didn't help. Then I couldn't sleep untill about 1:00 a.m. Got all rialed up!! Off to think about dinner and read posts. Another game at 7:00 and then shower is waiting for me. LOL
