VINTAGE MAINTAINERS...Sunday- OWWW!
Hi everybody,
Worst cold of my life is banging at me. I woke almost every 15 minutes ALL night. First two day I was using the THERA-FLU and the THERA-NIGHT TIME but the decongestant was causing my BP to soar about 40 points so nothing last night, hence the no-sleep. Pseudoephedrine is a risky drug. It looks like NEXT year for the orchid show and I'm also going to priss away a ticket for a good show tonight....INTIMATE APPAREL! Damn. Have any of you loaded the HUGE new Service Pack 2 for WINDOWS XP...download time for a dial-up: 12 HOURS so be warned. Dragging to the coffee-pot! (Memorial Service planned Wednesday, Thursday's cremation will be private!)

Oh dear Roger, I'm so sorry you are sick with that darn cold. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe a trip to your doc. is in order if you don't feel any better tomorrow.
Are you talking about the last 5 critical updates for WindowsXP? It took me about 1/2 hr. to load those. I don't bother with the non critical often unless it's something I really need. Loretta, It's the take off and landing part of flying that make my stomach feel funny and the lack of control. Now if I could fly the plane, that would be different. LOL Hope you are going to relax today, that is unless you want to come over and wash our vehicles. Julie, My goodness you have a full social calendar. Enjoy it. Wish I could be more social but I would rather be home alone most of the time. Sure drop in any time you are on the east coast. Susan, it's easy to shrink pictures. I can walk you through it if you want. Just e mail me. As for the Easter Cheese, check Wednesday's thread. It's easy to make. Shawnee, Haven't tried heating up that easter cheese but will today. Been thinking about more ethnic recipes but haven't done much with them. We should all get busy and post a few. Ah now I understand why you go to OR. to shop. We sometimes go to PA where the sales tax is at least 2% less than NY. It's going to be about 5 weeks or so before we can plant anything outside but maybe I'll start the deck pots and keep them in the garage. I'll check out the home improvement store and see what's in now then hit a department store to get myself a new skirt that fits for the memorial service on May 8. Waving to all. |

Sorry Roger that the drugs have so many side effects for you.
My take on colds is that wether or not you take drugs you will have that cold for 7 days. The drugs might relieve some sypmtoms but cause too many other side effects. Buy more kleenix, run the vaporizer, gargle with salt water, get out the vicks vapo-rub. Simple living. WOW on that 12 hour download. Did your server kick you off at all?. I used to have that happen in the middle of downloading. Take those $$$ and sign up for high speed. You will love it. Linda hope you find a nice skirt. WIll it be long? I tried on a longer skirt for Easter but being short it just makes me look shorter and fatter. I went with my black slacks and flat shoes. Shoes another headache. I sure don't want anything uncomfortable or high. I think with a skirt high heels would look better than flats. Guess you could sign up for some flying lessons. I WILL relax today. Might go and visit Leah today, she is not feeling well. Julie hope you rest up today and tomorrow before that heavy schedule begins. Do you use a pda to keep up with those appointments. I have been using a palm pilot and now a ipaq for grocery lists, bithday reminders etc for a while now. I sure like gadgets. I need some advice on a new mouse. Any preferences from you all. DS says they have a cordless at work but he finds it bigger and cumbersome to use. I do like the scroll wheel and use that function a lot. I am saving up my credit card cash back $$$ for a new mouse. Susun do you have your own digital camera? Maybe you should just make an investment and learn how to do it yourself. It is not that difficult. Get it now before Ella arrives so you can practice up. Send us a pic of Oliver. Jackie I want to see those chairs. I sure don't have a nice display area like that. I have an old antique rocker I could put to work if I could find an area to display it. My front yard slopes toward the house with no flat areas. Shawnee thanks for the pics of the new old toms. How are they going to taste? You know that is one of my concerns. Just give me regular. No fishing going on this weekend due to a tournament and the lake being extra busy. Dh is not catching the crappie but we are also hearing the same story for others. He has been out several times on his own. Talking about that fast driving. every once in a while here they set up the radar screen so we can check our speed. Guess what??? That little Honda Gal is going 5 miles faster than the speedometer reads. I am cutting back. Just too gabby today. HI to the rest of the vintagers and lurkers. Roger, gee so sorry you are miserable. Colds sure can be that way. I agree totally with Loretta. Colds take 7-10 days to get over weather you treat it or not. She had some good advice. Take care. Not sure what you mean by,"new Service Pack 2 for WINDOWS XP." Is it just the updates?
Linda, so did you find a skirt? I agree, again, LOL with Loretta. Long skirts do make us shorties look frumpy and fat. Dang. Hope you found one. I love being social. I love to talk and listen to everyone. I could never be a hermit, but DH could easily. Loretta, we sure do think alike, huh? Chuck is short, 5'4" so I like flats for shoes too. No, I use a planner but use a pencil!! LOL That way I can erase. Hehehe I woke up this morning trying to figure out how to cancel some of my activities this week....no luck so far. I'm meeting Mary next week but this week it's all friends from here. I love my mouse, the roller kind. If you do too, just get another one of those. They aren't very expensive. Mariner game coming up so will check back later when the rest of the gang checks in. Sunny, rainy etc. all day today. Only 52 so not warm either.....

Good evening all.......
Was gone to visit some friends this weekend and Saturday I was out in the WIND all day -- had a lot of exercise and good fun but...... my sinus' remind me that they are THERE!! I've taken enough meds to sink the Titanic AGAIN!!
Will fly to Denver tomorrow for a meeting on Tuesday and it better be SMOOTH -- I hate that turbulance going to the Mile High City. Nice view but...... IF there is any type of problem, you know - protest and such -- look for me on the National News! I'll be wearing short shorts, blonde, and waving a sign that says " I'm from CO" !!! What should us "shorties" wear? I agree with the skirts and shorts problem!! I haven't had long dress for years. In my next life -- I'm comin' back TALL! Have a good Monday!! Barb ![]()

Barb, have a safe, turbulence free and fun trip. LOL I'll look for a blond in short shorts and nothing else on TV news.
Julie, just do it and cancel some of those lunch things. Don't know how you can do all of that socializing. It would totally drive me NUTS. I NEED me time cause I'm a selfish ******. LOL Hope your team won again. Fill us in, eh? Loretta, I just got an optical mouse but it has a cord. No problem for me. It's a Logitech and works great! You don't even need a mouse pad. Now what do I do with all those alcohol pads I just bought? Jeeezzzzz, I went to 4 department stores and tried on a thousand things. (well it seemed like it) and found nothing to fit. You would think they would carry sizes for short, thin people but NO!! I want a just above the knee, simple straight skirt and just can't find anything. Tomorrow I'll hit the shops again and if I can't find anything, I'll just wear my dress slacks and a nice blouse to that service or try to find a tailor to alter my nice but big ones.. I did try on a few long ones in Petite sizes but I looked like a bean pole. Roger , you best feel better tomorrow or I'll run down there and drag you to the doctor's. Now where is Shawnee? She must be enjoying the yard and Chuckster. How about Pam, Ray, Annie and the rest of the gang? Check in will ya. |
