Friday before SPRING!

Friday before SPRING
Good morning everybody,

It's snowing hard as I type...it's getting OLD!!!! but the weekend is supposed to be nice and snow isn't allowed to build up in Manhattan.

Loretta,
Trust the zipster, it's gout. I went for several years awaking with a foot I couldn't step on for 3 days...usually the upper arch or the ankle: NO REDNESS. It wasn't til the classic podagra (red screaming big toe) that I knew for sure it was gout. Colchicine is also diagnostic....if it works, it's gout (it cures no other kind of pain..)

Jewels,
Perhaps you had one of my two favorite nuns who were sent to the Northwest; Sister Mary Psychosis, and Sister Mary Harpy...they were easy to recognize since both had beet red faces and smoke came out from under their wimples!

Linda,
Much snow for you?

To all, a good weekend.

Awww Zip, you are sooo funny!!! Can't say I had any favorites! LOL They were ok, at least we learned something and had respect, something that seems to be lacking in today's society.

On my way to drop Bo off at the groomers (new one) and then to bowling. I'm going to hurry home and watch the 2nd half of the Mariner's game on TV. It's only preseason but I'm getting excited. Love baseball!! Only because Seattle has a fairly good team. LOL

Later gang......

Hi gang,

Roger, we got just a dusting off and on overnight. The sun is out now but it hasn't gotten above freezing so there is still snow on the ground.. The weekend should be better.

Waiting for my mom to call so we can see about getting the move started. She was supposed to get the paper work done this morning and pick up her keys.

Later gang.

Just checking in here.

Not much going on in this neck of the woods. I hate to be bragging about our nice spring weather when you all are stuck in the snow belts.

Roger - you are funny! I moved to Charlotte, NC (bible belt - all Baptists and Methodists) from Louisville, KY, which has a huge population of Catholics. I went to Catholic schools and boy do I miss those Catholic jokes!

Here in sunny North Carolina its 70 degrees - woo hoo! That's why all those yankees from NJ and NY are moving here I guess!

Hey y'all,

Gorgeous and sunny here for this part of the south too. Makes ya want to move, huh? Got the typical Friday morning running done in town, so hopefully wallyworld won't get any more of my money for a while. DH is off to Lowes for more supplies. Shoulda bought stock in that place years ago!!!

My sympathies to those in the cold/sneaux...spring will eventually come!

Sunny and in the 70's here also!! Oh no, SNOW !! It won't last at this time of the year.

Julie, I lived in KY for 4 years, being Catholic, and was bombarded with Baptists!! It was funny, they ALL invited to their church and I returned the invitation.

Just came inside from getting some sun in my NEW bathing suit!! I KNOW you are all jealous. Getting an hour or two of that vitamin D the old-fashioned way really feels good!

You must also have a Catholic background Zip, if you know whimples. I had 17 years (kndg. and college) of Catholic education but do value what I learned. Latin is fast becoming THE language in grad. school.

Later......... Barb

Looks like many of us had that early life Catholic "experience" ie Sister Mary Hitler and her band of troops, among other things. I never did that to my kids and let them decide on what beliefs they wanted.

Barb, bathing suit weather already?? Glad you enjoyed it.

Ginny, you aren't the only one wishing that we had bought stock in Lowes. Guess I should check my mutual funds and see if it is in there. I've lost track and best look, eh?

Julia, welcome to our little band of maintainers. We have fun, discuss all kinds of life issues and do, on occasion, talk about food and maintaining. Enjoy your warm weather. My aunt and cousins live just outside of Raleigh and rub it in all the time.

Hi back at ya Loretta. Go ahead and brag but send that warmth NORTH please.

Susan got lost and posted on Julie's challenge thread. LOL Guess she is too busy to look around here.

Shawnee must be really busy enjoying the great outdoors cause she hasn't posted much.

Where are the rest of the gang?
