Lauren and Trish- Hi!

OK so have any of you guys heard of fifth disease? Jessica has it. It is not really a problem for the kids who get it- they normally have a low grade feaver, a rash and a sore throat- You can't really treat it- it has to go away on it's own. Fifth disease can however be harmful to a pregnancy. I called my doctor and I will have to have additional blood work done to see if I had it and if I am immune. The nurse wouldn't really get into the harmful side of it since she didn't want to worry me, but I have been looking on the web- It can cause Anemia and fetal loss. My mom is about 85% sure that I had it when I was little. The really scary part it we are having a serious outbreak in our community of this and you cannot tell when someone has it- Once the symptom show the contagious part has stopped - So you may all want to ask your doctors about it. Note- The fetal loss is a low percentage (1-1/5%)- but I am still a little worried.-
Sorry to be a bummer on a Friday but that is what I am dealing with today.

As for me I am thinking about taking the girls to the mall and going to "Build A Bear". Erin loves making those animals, but I was thinking of making one for my Granny. You can put those little "voices" in them and record anything you want - thinking of Erin telling her I love you and to get well soon. It has been such a SLOW process for her and she just came out of intensive care (again) last week. They have moved her to a rehabilitation hospital that specializes in "weaning" people off ventilators. While her heart is finally in great working order the valves going to her lungs keep collapsing and prevents her from breathing... its an awful situation to be in. She has been asking about the girls and I would love to take them to see her but I think all the tubes and things would freak the girls out.... so this is my solution so Granny can at least "hear" the girls. I was going to take some of Erin's artwork and pictures too.... anyone else have any ideas?? She is going to be in this hospital for a LONG time and the dr's are not optimistic on her chances of ever being healthy, just want her to know we are thinking of her

Angela- I think that is a sweet idea. They could probably dress them up a nurses and doctors. Homemade cards are always wonderful. I understand not wanting to take them to see her- It is scary for little ones. I am sure anything would be help cheer Granny up . -

Angela: That is too bad they have your granny hooked up to all the machines so the girls can't see her . I think it sounds like a very nice idea to have the girls do some nice things for her. I'll that her recovery goes much quicker than the doctors think possible!

Lauren- Have fun on your day off. I just made it in at 10 and I already want to go back home!!!!! Have fun w/ the nursery. I have been doing a little at a time. The painting is done, the beddings is in the crib but not put together. I have all the stuff to decorate...I just need to get to doing it....LOL...

SARAH- Once again....CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

TRISH- HELLO! I hope you have gotten some good rest last night.
Oh BTW I had Mexican food yesterday too and it was delicious. No salsa for me though.

ANGELA- Oh the bear sounds like a great great idea. I hope you and the girls have fun! I cannot wait for my little girl to get here!!!!! I'm patient and I want her to be healthy but boy do I want to hold her!

Well as for me, not much going on besides just tired. Last night we bought a new dinette set and this morning we had it delivered. It looks so great, I'm getting excited. We are having our living room, dining room and family room painted tomorrow while I'm out having fun at my shower. I can't wait to get my new rugs and pillows in...I order them from Spiegel but have yet to received them. My DH decided to just pay someone to paint so it can get down faster, so he has 3 guys helping him, so all 4 of them should have those rooms painting in no time.

I can't wait for my shower tomorrow, I have already been peaking on my registry to see what people have purchased. I'm gettings some great stuff and feel so blessed. Someone has purchased the bassinet, infant car seat, high chair, pack n play...WOW! Then 2 weeks from now, my church is having a baby shower but it's called a pamper and wipe shower. So I'm sure that's what I'm going to get and I will need them. LOL

Good Morning Everyone -

I have to stop by the lab today to have blood drawn for the AFP test. Since my DR. is in the same building I am going to stop by and see the Nurse. They had called me and said that there was a trace of blood in my urine last week and they were going to call in a prescription of antibiotics, but my pharmacy never got the call. I called three times and the nurse hasn't called me back. I am concerned that I have either a bladder or kidney infection. I don't have any pain when I got to the restroom, but this morning my urine looked a little weird. I called DH in the bathroom to look and he thought so too! I want to get on the antibiotics ASAP!!!!

I am going to New York next week for three days and I want to make sure everything is ok! DH and I are meeting some friends out there and my mom is taking DD for the weekend!

Mrs. Sarah - I am just so happy for you! WooHoo a Scorpio baby! I'm a November baby Can't wait to hear about your first U/S!!!!!!!

PFGal - Enjoy your day!!! Hope you get the nursery done

Trishagrrl - Hi There! I am with you about slipping out early today! We are having perfect weather today and I don't feel like being couped up inside all day!

Babyblue - I have never heard of 5th disease! I am going to go on-line and read up on this! Take care of yourself.

Angelhope - I think that is a wonderful idea about the bear! I know that not only will your Grandma love it but the girls will enjoy making it even more because it's for their G.Grandma! I know how special Grandma's are. I am so fortunate that I still have my dad's mom and my mom's dad. They are both in their 80's, but are doing pretty well.

I got up to help Dean get Mackenzie ready to go, and take care of the dog. She's spending the night w/my Mom tonight, so I had to pack her bag. Trust me, if I'd have thought of doing it ahead of time I would definitely have stayed in bed longer, lol!!

The good news is that I'm making tons of progress in the baby's room. I'm done going through the clothing, and am now just working to organize the crap that's in there. Hopefully the bedding and stuff will come soon so that we can paint and really get it all finished!

I'm so busy lately, this little girl is attached to my boobie 24/7 it seems. She went to the Dr. on Monday and is already up to 8lbs. 1 oz!!! I love being a mommy but boy is it busy! It's almost noon and I'm waiting for Mike to get home so I can shower!!

Hopefully next week I'll be able to check in a little more, Mike returns to work on Monday!

I'll try to post some pics this afternoon!

Hello ladies.

I have a couple of questions. Is it normal to gain a few pounds when you start adding carbs back? I just wanted to prepare myself for the shock if that happens. I am afraid I will go into carb addicting mode. I craved chips and salsa with my first, quarter pounders, fries and cokes (SUPER SIZE) with my second and spaghetti with my third. I actually craved beef (big ol' steaks) with my 4th. Maybe I will do this again!

Also, is Splenda safe for pregnancy?

Hope all of you have a good weekend. My husband is taking our boys camping and I am going to relax and read, read, read!
