I just found out I'm pregnant! I want to stay low carb, but need a little help. I've read on this board that I need to add in fruits, grains and more veggies. If you eat fruits by themselves as snacks will it cause a rise in insulin? How much fruit is necessary?
Also, I don't understand why grains need to be added in. Even whole grains don't seem to have a lot of nutritional value and it seems those carbs would be better spent on fruits or veggies. For instance, I think I would be better off adding a grapefruit to my usual breakfast shake (low carb milk with 1/2 scoop protein powder) rather than a bowl of oatmeal or a piece of whole wheat bread. What do you think?
Is
Davinci syrup ok during pregnancy? I go through about a bottle a week in my decaf.
Also, have any of you been told that you
flax seed oil is dangerous for pregnant women? How could that be?
Please, please share your menus with me.
