West Coasters start the day
Good morning good folks. All the east coasters must be sleeping in.
We are still having nice spring weather. Sorry for all the snow sufferers. Found out yesterday the lead cook will be out for another month so looks like my work plate will be full. Starting next week I'll be working the lead job every day but one.....till spring break (april 5-9) and we'll see after that how the scheduling goes. The lead's shoulder is still not healed. My mom called last night and said my aunt and uncle pulled into town (her brother and sil). From S. Texas. It will be so nice to see them. They'll be here for a couple months or until we bore them to death. LOL Hope y'all have a good day. |

Morning all,
Sun/clouds today for us, and probably near 60. Looks like spring is here for sure in the south! Up in the big town, I saw the Bradford Pears blooming out really pretty as I came out of Wallyworld last night--they were highlighted by some underneath lighting (it was about midnight). Ours should start soon too! Jacki, so you're stuck with working the early shift now? YIKES!!! You'll do fine, just drink lots of coffee! Hey to all, off to lurk! |

Hi to all
We have forsythia bushes blooming like crazy around here. Spring is on the way. Sorry for winter lingering on for you Linda and Zip. We did not make it out for dinner yesterday. DH just not up to it. Has a tender foot and leg for some odd reason. Difficult for him to walk and much pain. Not ready for the doctor yet though. Cooked up some leftovers. I have a freezer full. Oh BTW my DS that just moved here and started the new job has sold the house in Ill. Not even 2 weeks on the market and gone for more than he was asking. Hard to believe. IT was a very nice house. Closing date April 16th. Jackie boy you sure are going to have to get up early, maybe 4ish. Hope you function well in the early am. Hope you find some time to visit with your relatives. l8ter g8ters cooking beef short ribs for supper tonight, a first for me. Doing them in the slow cooker. L retta |

Good - late afternoon - St. Paddy's Day!!
Lovely day here -- but no plants blooming yet - should happen at any second!!
Jacki, good job on that lead cook. I'm am early morning person -- took after my mom who are 75 still got up and went to the bakery at four am. She's now 81 and they want her back!! These "youngins' don't have it in them!! Have fun -- when is Spring Break? My Spring Break starts tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. I plan on taking DD over to Utah for some hiking in Canyonlands, Arches Parks. This is the only time of the year when it's not 120 in the shade over there! Of course, we will head for Telluride and I can watch HER ski, etc. Riding the Gondala is my speed. Then there is the Hot Springs, and I DO have a new suit!! (We don't go to the OTHER one - suitless because I figure after 50 there is nothing to show off!!) Be back later........ Edited to add -- Oh Julie, I'm still one pound below my sig. but I'm on the move down !! Just to keep you on your toes.

I'll post here I guess!!! LOL
Jacki, gosh you are going to be tired. Enjoy your aunt and uncle and please don't bore them to death. That is a long time to stay though. Ginny, spring has definately srung here too but not too warm yet. Mid 50's!! Like Shawnee said, " Cherry, Plum, etc...they shout SPRING!" it is beautiful here with all the pink and white flowering trees. Oh yeah, yellow forsythia too!! Shawnee, how was the corned beef and cabbage tonight? Yum, love the smell of it. DH isn't fond of it so I never make it. He does tolerate the smell of my cabbage noodles but won't eat them. Hi Linda...are you snowed in? Able to get down or up that hill today? Loretta, poor DH! Hope it's nothing serious. Not a fun way to spend your BD. Hey, great news about your son's house getting sold so fast. Ok Barb, rub it in!!! I'm going to get down to 115 if it kills me!!! Just to show you I can do it!!!!!!!!!! Little stinker you!!! SuSun, got any room in your suitcase? You can take a little jog over this way and pick me up can't you? Gee I bet your excited about getting away. Off to the allergist again tomorrow. More skin tests. It's not necessary as I've been hive free for several weeks now. Best get it done and be sure. Last time I had them, I had some apple cider vinegar. Ya suppose??? Later gang......
