Beware the IDES OF MARCH!

Stay away from men in white togas brandishing daggers!

Just a quickie to open the decalogue:
Linda, you would have HAD to kill to get Lucy P tickets. We skipped it because his voice is gone and I remember his NY debut... when the voice was GLORIOUS. It would be sad to hear it ruined by years of "the good life." (and oversinging)
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/380...pavarotti.html

No plans yet today; will try to rent a car for tomorrow if ENTERPRISE still has a good deal. It will be just for a Jersey shop and lollygag!

Warmer today (near 50 at dawn.....HooHah!)

Later gaters.

Oops,
Just saw Weather Channel....snowstorm makes tomorrow's car rental a silly idea...we'll take a nice long walk today and tomorrow will be a HARD anaerobic workout.

Julie,
Thanks for the three stroke tips....AWFUL thought though!

Hi and Happy Monday to all

Don't know if any of you were watching the follow up on Dateline about the class reunion group that lost weight. I found it most interesting. Maintaining is the hardest part and where so many fall down, I mean back up on the scale. The gal that continued to lose was the one that had a personal trainer and weight loss coach. She still does get his support but it is on line. There is a support group and she is a part of that. Here we are, the best support bunch around. I think that sticking with the bb is such a big part of continuing and maintaining the weight loss. You all on the bbs sure have helped me.

Too bad Zip about the cancelled trip and SNOW. We too will get some more mositure towards evening. Enjoy that walk. Do you have ANY signs of spring there yet?

Ginny that forecast for the weekend sounds great. I am ready for some warmer stuff. Glad you got your orkids organized. That has got to be a job. Do you have a total count? Will you be entering any more shows soon? Glad that quilt has been awarded a place on the couch and found a comforting spot.

Jacki are you on spring break soon. Had the chief cook returned?
Have you and DH completed the projects you started?

Linda is that recipe for Gerards Chicken Cacciatori in the recipe room? I have not made that for quite a while. Have you made MaryT's Yummy Chicken? I really like it.
LOL on Dakota watching the tv. He must be growning quite big by now. The stick I carry with me on the walk is working out nicely. I think it shows some authority to Spot. I think if I tried the knee trick we would both be on the ground and he would be planting kisses on my face. I continue to pet him when he sits for me.

Susan glad that DD is ok from the fall. That baby has lots of protection with all that fluid in there, like riding in a bed of water.

HI to the rest of our band. Missing all of you MIAs
Happy Birthday to you Barb, was that yesterday?

Loretta

Hi everyone,
Just a quick run through until later.

This just SUCKS!!
... Significant Winter Snowstorm Shaping Up For Tuesday Afternoon Into Tuesday Night...

.An Area Of Low Pressure Will Move Into The Ohio Valley On Tuesday... And Transfer Its Energy To A Developing Low Off The Mid Atlantic Coast. Snow Should Begin By Early Tuesday Afternoon Across Central New York And Northeast Pennsylvania Over Northeast Pennsylvania... And Continue Into Tuesday Night. Significant Snowfall Accumulations Are Possible By The Time The Snow Ends Late Tuesday Night.

Roger, How sad that his voice isn't what it used to be. Guess I'll have to be satisfied listening to my old tapes.

Your luck just stinks!! It seems every time you make plans to go away the weather gets in the way. Keep on trying.

Jackie, don't work too hard. When are we going to see more pictures of your remodel?

Loretta,

The recipe is in Gerard's head but I'll try to get him to write it down and post it.

Fortunately Spot is friendly and not an aggressive animal. Do you carry dogie treats with you?

Julie, How is your dh's cough doing? Hopefully all of your poor sick ones are better

Annie, I hear ya!! I'm so darn sick and tired of winter.

Barb, did you have a good birthday?

Ginny, will you please release that nice weather and send it north?
I asked this before but you must have missed it. How far are you from Sevierville? We are going to the LCF's Pig Roast there in June.

Shawnee, how is the new computer doing?

more later. I'm off and running around today.

Hi Y'all

Been busy, but still around

Saturday was a trip to Mt. St. Helens...lovely (and pics eventually )
Sunday was busy morning, and Company the rest of the day.
Today was paperwork for Bob....

and hooking up old Scanner; that took a good while...HP said I needed a 5 hr. 17 min. Download or order/purchase a $10 CD to upgrade the poor old thing....another message said I needed a couple of Downloads...so I tried another approach...sometimes ya get lucky with a Backdoor approach...and it worked...!!
....so (fingers crossed) everything is hooked in now and ok. I do like this XP (as opposed to the LEMON )

Gotta get back outside while the weather is decent.

catch up with y'all later.

Shawnee

That show sounds really interesting Loretta. I think that they need to do more studies about what helps people maintain. They are always doing studies about who gains weight!!

Snow, rain ??? What's going on? We are have a beautiful Spring -- close to 70 and clear skies. Of course, allergies always hit!!

Jacki, where is the head cook? Are you enjoying taking over?

Susan, I read the past posts about the cancer -- I was in that boat but they found all of the microcalifications not to be cancerous. I was followed up with 6 month check-ups and I turned my life around!! Being scared does that - gave up coffee, exercise, lost weight, etc. After a while it was normal so I went back to my old ways.

Yes, it's my birthday today but celebrated over the weekend. DH and I went to a resort area and got some R & R. Beautiful weather and good eatin'

Three more days of work and then SPRING BREAK !! DD is flying in from MN for a week also. She'll go skiing, I'll watch -- much too old to break something!

Hi Julie, what's up with you?

Barb, Can you please send some of that nice spring weather EAST?

So are you going to tell us about your weekend? Bet it was fun.

Shawnee, OMG those pictures are beautiful! The thing is building another dome OY! Is that what's left of Crater Lake in the 2nd photo?

I still have a jar of ash that my brother sent me when he lived in Idaho. Geez, they had at least 6" of the stuff. I can't imagine what you had.

Off to catch up.

edited to add

I happened to be standing in my front yard when Mt. St. Helens blew. I saw the plume of smoke go high into the sky. We live about 100 miles from it. We were very lucky here as the wind blew it all east. My parents lived in Spokane and they watched the cloud move over the city and completely blacked it out. Just like dark. Scared the daylights out of them. Still have ash out in the fields of Wa. state. It was sure good for the crops though.

I'm not sure what I'm up to Linda. Of course I'm on the puter way too much. I'm so boring....had a coffee hour with friends this a.m. and grocery shopping this afternoon. Real exciting huh?

Will catch ya all tomorrow...

Hi Julie,
That eruption must have been very frightening to say the least.
My brother said it got dark and looked like a blizzard where he was in Hayden Lake, Idaho.

No your life isn't boring at all. Think of it as relaxing. If I'm still alive next winter, that's exactly what I'll be doing.

Hey, tomorrow is Loretta's Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COOKIE !

http://pages.prodigy.net/bestsmileys...3/hapbirth.gif

Hi Montana...no, these are both of Mt. St. Helens; Crater Lake is in a volcano in S. Oregon.

The new dome may possibly be named "Spirit".
At eruption, the wind was blowing Eastward, so we only got a few inches locally; E. WA got the most.

Here's some stuff on the beautiful Crater Lake
http://www.americanparks.net/crater_...ional_park.htm

How's the sneaux situation?

Well duh!! LOL I think I meant Spirit Lake. Sheesh!! Need to brush up on geography, eh?
Is that the one that was in the path of the eruption?

Thanks for the beautiful pictures of Crater Lake though. It's lovely.

oh yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORETTA

Snow is due to start sometime tomorrow morning and accumulate up to 12 inches.
