Sunday March 14
Gee nobody here yet??
Well hello and Happy Sunday. Linda thanks for those web sites for SuSun and the info they contained about sugar. Just wondering about some of the sugar substitutes we use like Splenda and diabeta sweet if they also have some affect?? Guess you have your hands full there with getting you mom ready and babysitting for Dakota. Hope your DD is doing ok. Has she finished her treatment program? Oh BTW my towel top is not crocheted but material with some machine quilting. I sure can't knit or chrochet. We got some much needed rain last night and now the sun is shinning. Hoooo rayy. DS has had an offer on his house in Ill already but he has had to counter offfer. We will see what happens. It is a very nice place and I would hate to see him not get what he wants for it. Thinking about you Shawnee. I dread that day. Loretta Last edited by Loretta V : 03-14-2004 at 11:36 AM. |

Hi Loretta and all who follow.
A good, important show yesterday called EMBEDDED...a satirical loook at the reporting from the Gulf War that had to be filtered through the Army brass before it could be released to the public. It was written and directed by Tim Robbins (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE HUDSUCKER PROXIE....and Susan Sarandon;s long-time "spouse"). It was the first of many looks into the current war scene. Happy St. Paddy's Day Cornbeef With $.07 cabbage and potatoes, my mouth is a'water!Gee, it's still so cold in the Northeast; I passed a forscythia hedge today and it was as bare as a baby's bottom (or most of the actors on stage these days!) Nice afternoon with an easy gym day (mostly reading by the pool), a nice dinner (I hope) and a lackadaisacal evening in front of the Boobus Toobus. (Gee the big Toshiba just had her 11th anniversary....I remember the first color sets that you were lucky to get 6 years out of....God is good!) Taaa

Hey all,
Kinda quiet around here today! We've been buried in the computer working on our orchid lists and making sure everything is current, abbreviations are consistent, even to whether the pictures we have are film or digital. Yes, rather anal, I know! But it's done now and I can rest now.Anyways, I'm off to lurk....hello to everyone! |

Hello Gang!
A quick check-in from me tonight! Had a long walk with DD today in the woods, she slipped but fell forward on her knee, shook her up but she was okay. We had had a lovely thaw the last few days, then a quick dip in temp overnight and that froze everything again. It is her DHs Bday on Thursday, so she bought him a Baby Carrier a big Mountain Hiker, Mainly type. He was saying to his Dad last year when they were here visiting from the UK that he wanted one of those. I will probably buy him some nice shirts for his work. It is my Dad's Bday today....he would have been 104 years. He had a fairly long life he died at 91. Working tomorrow, have a group in the morning, then the office in the afternoon. Tuesday off, Wed in work and Thurs. Then off for packing for FLA! Loretta, I can knit and crochet but I cannot sew! I used to knit and crochet all the time when the kids were little. No patience now to follow a pattern. LOVE that cute tea towel you made! Roger, What a fabulous deal on the Cabbage! I can almost smell it cookin! Ginny, Wow, ya organized Gal! WTG! Feels good eh when the work is done! Wavin to the rest of our Gang! ![]() |

Susan, I'm glad your DD wasn't injured.
Bet you and DH are really looking forward to getting out of the NE to some warm weather. Ginny, did you put new pictures on your site yet? I need to go there and look at some lovely eye "candy". Roger, Embedded sounds like a great play. Wish we could see it but unfortunately this hick town has few good plays. I'm surprised you didn't go to see Luciano Pavarotti's last performance. I would have KILLED to see it. So what time is dinner? I love corned beef and cabbage but Gerard gags at the thought of it.Loretta, I don't think Susan saw them. Oh well. Anyway I'm sure the artificial sweeteners are not much better for us than the real thing but we need a bit of joy in our lives in the form of a good and legal cheesecake or cookie. So where are the rest of the gang? Come on kids, check in. We got the biggest kick out of Dakota last night. It seems that he actually watches TV. Gerard had the Animal Planet channel on and that darn pup walked over several times and just stood there watching. Strange critter that he is.LOLMoms were here for dinner today and enjoyed Gerard's Chicken Cacciatori and Loretta's cheese cake. I just left the almond flavor out and topped it with strawberries. YUMMM. Off to catch up a bit and lurk. |
