Hi gang o' mine!
Oh, BUG was adorable: funny, thought provoking, nude and GROSS! There was a scene where a guy was pullig his own tooth because it was filled by the Army with millions of insect eggs. Well you saw him from behind hanging on a bathroom sink, legs flailing madly and screaming while he pulled his molar with a pliers...screaming like a stuck pig with stage blood flying everywhere....you should have SEEN the audience squirming in their seats (the woman next to me had her head in her LAP!) We were sitting behind STEPHEN SONDHEIM (FOLLIES, COMPANY SWEENEY TODD composer.) All I could do was fiddle my tongue against a tooth that needs a new filling (or a cap).....AUUUUGGGHHH! For the curious: http://www.theatermania.com/content/...t_news_id=4439 Julie, Imagine running into your son like that!!! Shame he couldn't join you- bet it bothered him all day. (How does he look in shorts?)...Ohhh, for Spring in Frisco! You are all lucky that your spouses don't fight you for the computer...I get ODD hours and if I get up before 7 (like usual) I have to watch the friggen' Weather Channel til 7 before it's MY TIME....today I sprayed wash (stains!) The salmon worked GREAT on the grill (not at all dry): 6 minutes for two 9 ounce filets about 3/4 inch thick.... Next I'll try slices of eggplant just rubbed with a little olive or canola oil! Linda, I agree on the dryness for boneless chicken breasts and I don't think I'll re-try them. Now I've got to find a place to store the silly (but HUGE) thing! It looks like Bob might be off for nearly 2 weeks! YAAAAY! A nice day to all... (Do you guys ever watch CRANKYANKERS on Comedy Central?).... "YAAAAY, YAAAAY"....Special Ed!

TGIF and no work for me!!
It's been a long work week with going back and just being tired. I'm glad I'm "old" and have a reason!!
Did you marinate the salmon Zip? I always find salmon on the grill to be dry unless I have a sauce or something. NO fighting for the computer here, we have three. It's just that when DH wants to discuss something, he always picks a time when I'm responding to email, bb, or important stuff like that and he has to say "did you hear me?" We are starting to wear shorts here!! Of course, the kiddos at the high school just about wear them all year long. We hit 65 degrees yesterday and the girls are in skimpy tops with short tight shorts, sandals, and say" What!! we HAVE a DRESS CODE" Short term memory problems -- that WAS way back last Fall!Loretta, we have two groups of parents who are dissatified with service being offered their kids with disabilities. This special group of the population have MORE rights than you or I. So we end up in due process (for one) and in mediation with the other. It's just a lot of meetings and LOTS of paperwork. I'm a coordinator for services so I end up with the paperwork. Julie, how's the maintaining going? I noticed that you changed your sig. Are you cheese-less yet? Susan, you are DOWN 4# ??? Great! HOW did you do that? Running to the coffee pot.......... later

Hello all.
Yesterday was so beautiful. I came home and got most of my lawn mown. Used the rider for the main part but those climbing rose bushes are cruel if you get too close so I planned on using the small mower to get under and around them and my other tight places. Pulled and pulled on that rope.....would NOT start. Hmmmmm.....have to resort to Hubby. Haha. I guess sitting all winter gummed something up. He'll get it started for me. Don't you love the smell of fresh cut grass? Yesterday was also my GrSon's 11th birthday. Went to his birthday party last night. Gads but that kid got good presents. Tonight he's having a sleep over. My daughter accidently called it a slumber party and was promptly corrected. "Mom, boys don't have slumber parties....they have sleep overs." Zip, that play sounds interesting...tramatic but interesting. I don't care all that much for salmon, but I do love sturgeon and halibut. Especially on the grill. I usually rub them with oil before I grill them. Keeps them from becoming so dry. Also, I keep it simple--just lemon pepper. Yum Yum No fighting for the puter here either. My DH doesn't touch it. I guess I scared him off with my first puter. Pretty much my toy. Hopefully I will get my plants in the ground this weekend. Rain is coming next week and I don't like working in the wet. Have a good day folks. Last edited by JackiCWa : 03-12-2004 at 08:32 AM. |

HI to all
Zip I'm glad you like the grill and the salmon. I just like salmon patties, forget the real fish. I found the grill best for hamburgers and my ricotta cheese pancake. It does dry some foods out, like chicken breast and Orange Roughy. I tried both. Dh was going to go the shed and get a tool to pull my bad tooth recently but I declined his help. The spot is healed up nicely now. Jackie I too just LOVE the smell of fresh mowed grass. I have my pc to myself also. If DH wanted to use it he would just have to get his own. My DS has set theirs up for the whole family at his new home and each has their own log in/screen saver, files etc. They have passwords and maintain some privacy that way. Barb I ask about the special needs kids because my new DSTepGD is autistic. She seems to be in the mainstream at her high school but I think she needs to be having some type of job training or some usable skills. They are sure special people but I do think some situations can get out of control with the demands made on the teachers. There is only so much that can be done for the students. Completed Towel Project. I sure am glad that my DIL wanted a new one. Now I have a neat idea for Christmas Presents. This year I can rely on myself instead of my DSister for a project. I will end up making quite a few if I give all kids at least 2 (9x2=18) Plus some for in-laws and friends. Linda interesting trip for you to your GYN about the scale and the bp. Hope you past your tests with flying colors. My siblings are both low in the bone density catagories. Need to get it checked for myelf next trip to the doc. How nice for your and your DS to run into each other there in Seattle. Nice for a hug and a kiss in person. Hope you had a nice day of shopping. Shawnee hope that pc gets organized soon so you can spend some time with us again. Between the out doors and the pc you will be short time here with us. Hi to Susan, Pam, Annie, Ginny, etc, RAY the rest of the band. Loretta Last edited by Loretta V : 03-12-2004 at 11:33 AM. |

Man, I just got back from the butcher's. Meat has REALLY gone up around here. I just spent $150 and don't have much to show for it. That doesn't count the $50 for Shrimp and I haven't bought fish yet.
Coming home and stopped to get gas. It's $1.59 per gallon. Thats CRAZY around here. To top it all off: I went out to fire up the grill -- I'm out of propane. Now I have to go back to the store so I can cook those steaks of gold. Other than that I'm having a great day. Don't know why I'm complaining - if these are the worst of my problems - I'm doing great. Legs at the gym today. No class tonight. I think Martha and I are going to the movie. Best to all, sensei

Hi Guys!
Checking in after a hectic 3-4 weeks, finally a day off to wind down. Except the follow up appointment today after last Wednesday's biopsy. The diagnosis is lobular carcinoma in situ. So I am considered at higher risk for invasive to show up later, and have to modify my lifestyle. I cant live any cleaner! I will be joining a high risk clinic and followed every 6 months and have been given the option to take Tamoxifen, not sure about those side effects. They seem worse than what I have been diagnosed with. I knew something was wrong and I am so glad I pushed to get those microcalcifications out and checked by the pathologist. I had to post here to let you guys know as my email is completely blocked, cant send or receive. Taking my lap top over to DSIL tomorrow evening for a Fix, hopefully. Sensei, Yikes, that meat is expensive....we may all have to go vegitarian! Sounds like you are on a good program at the Gym.Enjoy your Movie, let us know what you went to see! Ginny, Slow down girl! Hope you are in forward drive and not reverse! Tending those fragile orKIDS are ya? Loretta, That project looks Marvellous! Wow, what a talent! Love it! Those Salmon patties sound like time to share the recipe! Glad your tooth healed on its own, so did mine. I had a swelling in my back lower right side, the hygenist told me it was my Wisdom tooth coming thru......at my age???? Anyhoo, its settled down and nothing there.Jacki, Me too have the puter all to myself. My DH only reads the soccer news, and he mostly does that at work, on his breaks of course! Sounds like you had a productive day, yesterday, they really boost the spririts dont they? Barb, I dropped the 4lbs by cuttin out that real flax seed bread. I have been having LC bread instead, but I could do with cutting out a slice of that a day. Re: The DRESS CODE! I wore a uniform till I was 19, a blouse and tie, blazer and pleated skirt, with little ankle socks and shiney shoes too. The Nuns wanted us to be smart and clean. Nylons and Knee socks we banned for some reason! Roger, Glad you enjoyed the show. You have had so many let downs of late. Sounds like a good two weeks ahead if Bob is off with you. Have you started planning what YOU TWO will do, Museums, Shows, Cafes, Shopping.....an endless list! Shawnee, Whatcha up to these days? Is the garden and bakin keepin ya busy agin? Any good and easy recipes to share agin! We rely on you as our lifeline! Julie, What are the odds of meeting your DS in that City on the street? Sounds like you are running out of steam take it easy. Have you done any yoga or meditating lately? Wavin to y'all! One week to FLA! ![]() |

Hi gang,
Susan, oh dear!! I'm so sorry that calcification turned out to be malignant. You have your research cut out for you. What in the hell do they mean "modify your life style"? Sorry about your computer problems. I sincerely hope you don't have that new computer worm. Ray, the prices of meat here in the NE are outrageous too and gas is over $1.89 per gal. Just some of the reasons we want to get the heck out of NYS. Enjoy the movie. Was that flash Ginny Poor girl must be very busy.Loretta, those towels are great!! I'm sure everyone will enjoy getting them as gifts. We have a few of them but they are getting rather ratty. LOL I just normally drape a regular one over the oven door handle. Do request a bone density. I was flabbergasted that my previous one ( 5 years ago) showed osteopenia (sp) and this one was perfect. Guess it really pays to take that extra calcium. Jackie, you are so lucky to be able to mow the lawn in MARCH. Wow. Yes the smell is wonderful!! We had some snow flurries today and it's only 22 degrees right now so there won't be any mowing until late April around here.. LOL my granddaughters call it a sleep over too. Guess it's the new generation. Barb, I don't envy you that job. It must be a nightmare to keep those parents happy.Yes some groups have more rights than we could ever hope for. You aren't old darn it!! You just had surgery girl. That's why you are tired. So who is supposed to enforce the dress code? They better get cracking before it gets totally out of hand. Roger, yes chicken breasts, pork chops and steak don't do well on that grill but with some tinkering maybe there is a way to improve on it. You can't beat the speed though. So with Bob being off for two weeks are you going to attempt another trip to PA.? It would be great for both of you to get away. We always look forward to your articles and reviews. Glad this one was a good play. Julie, what have you been up to today? Shawnee, how is the new computer doing? Off to catch up around here. |

Yes Susan, what does this all mean? Are all of the calcifications gone? Clean up your lifestyle? Thinking of you!! I believe Tamoxifen causing weight gain unless you are careful. Our secretary takes it and is trying to lose 30 pounds she gained since breast surgery and radiation.
Linda, how much calcium do you take? I just upped mine and spread it over the day -- it helps relieve restlessness at night. Well Ray, at least you got some meat and didn't spend that much on junk food!! Loretta, that's called transition -- movement from high school to life afterwards. It SHOULD be a big part of the IEP plan so that special need kiddos are prepared for whatever they will do after school. Was THAT Ginny????? I'm disappearing for two days for some R and R!! DH and I are taking a weekend away - Till Sunday night........... |

Hi Y'all
Kinda chilly here today, but NOT raining ![]() SuSun ..........Bless your heart! Guess its best to KNOW the Dx instead of worrying and wondering. You have your positive outlook to draw from, and the excitement of the coming GBaby. You also have your Faith, Family, and us. (((((((HUGS))))))) I'm sorry to be such a MIA...just Life and Family have been hectic lately. So burned out on Puter stuff, I don't wanna do anything else with it for awhile but Surf and E mail... Thanks to all y'all who've sent me messages...but PLEASE....I am not opening Attachments or Forwards...and let's share our Pics here, instead of in mail. Thanks ![]() ZIP, glad to hear ya finally had a WINNER in the play dept. I have the huge George Forman and love it. Re the first XP: LOL, I told the salesperson about the type of conflicts and freezes I'd experienced. His only reply was "Sounds like a LEMON...it happens"....(THAT was the only Dx from the "pro" , and it got sent bye bye to the factory.)....So I just used the "15 day Exchange or Refund" Policy and got the same type...I have about 13 more days to decide if I wannna keep the current one. So far so good. Oh, he DID compliment me on staying so calm while relating my frustrations with the problems ![]() ( I didn't wanna get all violent, my nerves were already shot from puter-mechanicing.)AND...the HP Tech in INDIA (you were right on with your Cartoon last week) also gave me the same compliment; over an hour on the phone with him....after the first 15 minutes, I could almost understand his accent (Hehee, I'm Indian too, but the common Native variety.)He said he started English lessons in Kindergarden. Hi Sensi...Thanks for giving us the update on your Life. Welcome and hope you feel at home here. All the regular Posters here are PERFECT with NO flaws , and know you are too. ![]() (ok, I admit to a tad of mental defects...and have been known to be b*tchy.... )Goddess...was that a Harley Hog you were on...rippin' thru here Godiva-style??? ![]() Loretta...great work on that clever towel. What did I miss out on, about Spot being a jumper?Oh..I was in the Pet store today getting Goldfish for the pond. Met and cuddled the most beautiful teenage (8 mo) Pit Bull. Her owner brought her in to do her own sniff-shopping in the Treats section. She was more gentle and sweet than most Labs! Hi Montana...how's that Winter weather of yours? Hope all threats of Sneaux there will be over soon. We are reverting back next week to cold temps and sneaux down to 1000' elevations. How's your DD? Hey Julie...cool, about your Son ![]() Dragonette, thanks for the wonderful pic of Pup...names picked yet? Hey Jacki....take advantage of Saturday...our best day before return of YUK weather. Barb....back in the Stone Age ( ...my High School years)...our skirts had to reach the center of our knees while we were sitting. I still think of them as the good ol' days, and feel its too bad that some kids nowdays leave nothing to the imagination...so they all look alike: HALF-NAKED. Guess they like the shock value. Hope you are regaining your strength. Hi to Tink....still getting Sneaux? Later ShawneeEDITED: HEY Montana Didn't see your post.....girl, WHERE is the CHEAP gas? (Alabama?) We have to buy the $$$$ stuff for these big engines, and its around $2.00. Last edited by shawneesioux : 03-12-2004 at 09:36 PM. |

Barb, I take a 600 mg. twice a day...one with brunch and one with dinner.
Enjoy your weekend away. Tell us all about it, well almost all when you return.Shawnee, hopefully this new computer will be ok and not cause too many problems. XP isn't that bad once you get used to it. Hang in there. LOL I can't believe you can be *****y sounds like me though. I can be just awful at times. Dell tech got upset with me when I really gave them a piece of my mind last year. The guy hung up on me.I'm with you on the attachments, forwards and pictures. I just won't open them because of the new worm and storage space so if any of you have sent them, that's why I haven't replied.. Looks like gas is about 20 cents cheaper just across the border from here in PA as well as VA. and any place in the south. BUT hang on to your hat because it's going up more when the summer driving season starts. |

Geez, I seem to get later and later getting here. Where do I start?
First of all, I'm so excited as my DGS is coming down Sat. night and spend the night and visit. I haven't seem him since Christmas. He is still staying with friends but is did go back to school to finish out his senior year. He's not taking his bipolar meds so not sure how he really is doing. I do know he has 2 lip rings and one in his eyebrow, not to mention 2 in each ear. I'm not too worried about those but do worry about his tattooing himself. Will try and not nag and just enjoy seeing him. zip, sounds like quite a play. Barb, no I haven't gone cheeseless! Just can't seem to give it all up. did cut down but today wasn't good. Had way too much. I too wore uniforms, white shirts and ugly green jumpers. Grade school was navy blue, long, sleeve dresses. They were heavy and ugly too. When we knelt down they had to touch the ground!!!! Nuns were so cruel at times. Susan, so sorry about the dx. So is it pre cancerous or cancer? If it is postive, what are they going to do about it. Just leave it? What kind of lifestyle do they want from you? So many questions? Do you think you may have got a virus? Jackie, my DH has mowed the lawn 3 x now. All it does is cause my nose to run and eye's to itch. Loretta, cute towels!! I'm sure everybody will apprecitate them. I know I would. Ginny???????? Come back.... Ray, I think this way. I'm not buying junk so can spend it on meats.
