Wednesday...Norse for Theater Day :D
Hi everybody,
Nice to see Annie and Julie back. YEah, I always think of Bichon Frieses as fat poodles! Linda, We had our living room window open all day yesterday...nice (no bugs yet.) It sounds like angioedema for Gerard...usually a reaction to some drug. Anything new? A BP med perhaps like and ACE blocker. Hope you feel better. Ginny, let's all lose the cough tomorrow, whadda yah say? Barb, I think that skunk shot a load in the garbage can and posoned himself. Today we are going to a 2PM matinee at Lincoln Center and I'll try to get to Queens first to open a CD... Astoria Savings has the best rate (4.25%) but it's on the other side of the PLANET! I'm off all my BP med and holding below 140/90 (off last thiazide 3 days ago)...BUT I've seemingly become addicted to the daily diurectics (HCTZ). The 5 pounds of water "squish" is annoying and actually HURTS ...I will try my damndest to bear it (maybe the old FORCE WATER cure of Atkins will blow some of it off!)What I need is a good sweat, but as I age it seems harder and harder to do even in the sauna or working like a crazy man on the stationary bike!

Gosh Linda, what next? Sounds like an allergic reaction to shell fish or something similiar, Zip says a reaction to a drug???? What are you feeding that poor man? Maybe it's what he's sneaking in the middle of the night when you just see the fridge light! Hope they find out what has happened and good luck.
You know Zip, if you are just going on those BP readings from home, shouldn't they be lower? I'm in the same boat in a way. I have white coat syn. and take my readings at home and then type that up and take it in once a year. With weight loss, mine have really gone down and they have also gone down at the doc's but not as low as at home. I read an article recently that states that is ok, but, BP readings should be lower with home monitors. I continue with my meds because I want it lower. Of course, do NOT take this as medical advice, I'm soooooo far away from being in the medical field!! Just an opinion. I always thought that white fluff balls were in the same class!! Julie, we did the same thing with Cody -- when I would wash him I needed to use the hair dryer to brush him out or it would be curly. We have a full set of sheers, clippers, etc. Then, I decided I was too old for this and just took him to the groomer more often. Saying hi to all............... later

Morning gang,
What a gorgeous day we had yesterday! I was able to ride to work with the window DOWN and air out the van! Of course, then I was at work and the day went you-know-where. Zip, I don't know how well I'd even function in 700 sf...maybe if I was by myself I could, but would get crazy if there were others! Our house including the gh is 2600 sf. Jacki, (((hugs))) to you. Check in as you are able. Linda, all right now, enough of these allergic reactions! I think my cough is allergy related as the sinuses are a bit sore. Outside things are starting to bud up, and I have Loratadine (Claratin) at the ready. Barb, are you still off work or have they cleared you to go back yet? Julie, we used to blow dry our sheltie. He wasn't thrilled, but if we didn't it took him forever to dry. That dog put up with a LOT! LOL BTW, we don't mention the 'P' type dog here.... All, be safe and content today,

HI everyone,
Roger, that's an excellent rate for a CD even though you have to go to East Bumber &*%$. Can you do further transactions via the computer once you join ? Hopefully the Atkins water flush will work, if not, maybe you do need to take a smaller dose of the diuretic. Gerard isn't on any meds at all nor did he have any fish to eat for dinner. Actually he hadn't had anything to eat since 5PM except a piece of ham and some cheese, and this happened around midnight. Most food reactions usually start much sooner. He has had a cold virus for over a week so my thought is viral, just like I had last month. Barb, LOL actually I wasn't asleep when this happened so there was no sneaking of food involved. White coat hypertension is a pain in the butt especially when we have to convince a new Dr. that's what we have. It's good that your doc takes your word for it. Ginny, I'm with you. A small apartment is fine for one but just maybe... if you can tolerate a confined space. Our house is about 1800 sq, not including the finished basement and two car garage but sometimes I wish it were twice the size. Jackie, again my deepest sympathy. Take comfort in the warm memories when the pain is less. Julie, as long as you don't mind the work of grooming Bo, go for it. Personally I would take him to a professional groomer just because I'm basically lazy. Annie, it was great to see you back with us yesterday. Let's hear all about your trip. Loretta, are you home yet? Shawnee, any news about the computer? Susan, Where are ya? Waving to all others. I'm off to work until about 9PM Linda Last edited by LoveMontana : 03-03-2004 at 11:13 AM. |

Hi,
We had a nice day. Show was called BIG BILL, a drama about Bill Tilden, and was well acted, but a bit yawny in the long stretches. He was interesting in that he was a gay man in a VERY homophobic time and he actually spent a year at hard labor for his "crime." A taste of Puerto Rico at EL DEPORTIVO was good as usual! Barb, I can get steadily below 120/75 WITH medications. I think for the rest of my life I'd prefer a "tolerable" reading (below 140/90) without the meds....I really hate them one and all and I've been on about 16 of them in the last 25 years. Really, I NEED 1,800-26,000 square feet...but I just can't get it without giving up the BIG APPLE! I have become expert at MAKING DO (Christ, do I hate those two words!) Nighty. |

Roger, shame on you for even saying the P word. LOL
Linda, I don't mind at all the brushing, not too happy about the drying but I do take him for grooming every 5 weeks. DH tried cutting him and he looked like an egg beater had been used. Never again. He just needs shampooing in between as he gets a little smelly and he sleeps on our bed. Chuck shampoo's him and then we dry him. He never looks that bad but is more curly which I hate. Harder to comb and brush. He looks so good after the groomer appt. They charge $20.00 for just a shampoo so won't spend the money. I did while Chuck was working though. Viral infections sure can cause an allergic reation. Just ask me!!! He might want to get allergy tests if he hasn't already. Would be nice to find out why!! I suppose they asked all the usual questions when at the hospital. I know them by heart and just want to tell them NO to all. LOL Cali, so sorry about your DD. Sending (((hugs))) Barb, a few more days to enjoy and then back to the grindstone. Enjoy!!! Ginny, you got thee cough too? Gosh this has been a bad winter. DGD is here for a day, and she just told me she woke with a sore throat and is coughing some. Just great!!! Thats all I need. Isn't it about time for Loretta to show up?

Hi Gang!
Sorry bin MIA! I was extremely busy at work, then today I had that needle biopsy. The micro calcifications were quite deep but they said they got them all, so just waiting for the pathology report now, to get the all clear, fingers crossed. DD came with me, she was a good support for me. The freezing worked good for about 4 hours, been taking extra strength tylenol since. I have some Tylenol #3. I think I will take one for overnight. Just wanted to check in. I hope to catch up with everyone's goings on soon! SuSUN ![]() |

Roger, I guess we all need to get our priorities set and live the way that is most comfortable for us as individuals. You love the Big Apple more than a larger place so do what is most comfortable for you and Bob. Making due just sucks though.
I'm with you on the meds for BP. If it's under 140/90 it's fine with me too. LOL for the years I have left. Julie, Gosh does the little guy's hair grow so fast that he needs the groomer every 5 weeks? Unfortunately I never had a dog with long hair. My last two were Dobermans and didn't need much but a bath and some brushing once in a while. Yes Gerard will see the Allergist yet again even though he thought the last bout of swelling was viral related. Annie, OMG I'm so very sorry about your DD. I would be really pissed off at the butcher who did that too. Please keep us posted and know that you are in our thoughts. Susan, OMG I didn't realize that you were going through that biopsy yet again. My thoughts are with you too. Take some pain meds and rest well girl. |
